I was travelling to Switzerland and Italy for a personal trip with my partner for 10 days. I booked a Bangalore-Geneva round-trip for April 1, 2015 to April 20, 2015. My trip to Geneva was Bangalore to Abu Dhabi (EY237), Abu Dhabi to Zurich (EY73) and then Zurich to Geneva (F721). I had one piece of check-in luggage at Bangalore (Tag number 0607EY162108). I reached Geneva to find that my bag had not reached and I filed a Property Irregularity Report (GVAF711222 – copy enclosed). I was told the bag would reach me the same day (June 9). I checked into my hostel and came back for the bag. However, it did not arrive. I found myself in another continent with nothing but my passport and wallet and no confirmed information regarding my luggage. I was refused any kind of financial or logistical help at Geneva Airport and was asked to return the next day. The next day, I reached the airport at 11 am. The DNata office which was handling the report had no information and asked me to come back at 2pm. I returned for the third time to no avail. I stayed at the airport till 5pm looking for more information but didn't get any. I also went to the Etihad Regional counter and got no assistance. I was first given a phone number (0441223851480) that connected me to the wrong counter and another which didn't work (0097125112170). On requesting a daily allowance for essential items like underwear, clothes and toiletries, I was told to send a claim to an email ID. As I was travelling through Switzerland and Italy for over ten days and travelling to different cities almost every day, I had to purchase essential items for my trip including basic clothes, underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, toiletries etc. I was assured by the DNata and Etihad Regional Office in Geneva that it is the airline's duty to deliver my luggage wherever I may be travelling next. On June 11 and on calling the DNata office (0041228174473) I was told that the bag had reached Geneva and that they would send it to my next destination, Milan. On June 12, the airport authorities (after repeated calls) had no information and asked me to contact Etihad Regional, whose helpline number did not work (+390689970422). Finally at the end of the day a staff member from Malpensa Airport (Mr. Tommy - 0274868121) got in touch with my place of residence in Milan and informed us that as per Etihad policy bags are not delivered to houses the same day and there is a 24-hour wait period (completely contrary to what Geneva Dnata and Etihad Regional had informed me). On reaching Rome on June 14 (five days after Etihad delayed my bag and telling me I’d get it the same day), I tried calling Geneva DNata, Etihad Regional, Malpensa (Milan) and Fiumicino (Rome) to get information of the status of my bag, but I got no response. I had to go to the airport myself and at Fiumicino airport I was made to run around for over 1.5 hours before being directed to the Alitalia lost bags counter (because Etihad Regional and DNata failed to inform me that Alitalia handles Etihad’s lost baggage in Fiumicino). Here, I was treated abominably and was cursorily dismissed by the Alitalia staff with no help or support. Then when I finally found the bag, it was damaged. The claims form on the Etihad website is not working and I still have received no response from the email id (customer.baggage@etihadregional.com). I want to be reimbursed for all my expenses.

I have forgotten my official Ipad in the plane last night. I hope to get it back as soon as possible. I have registered complaint as well, but after going through the complaints underneath, I am a little disappointed. I hope I'll leave some good comment on Etihad service end of the day. Please check with the flight.

our luggage (3 Items) was lost after we landed in Abu Dhabi fr om flight EY 401 on the 14th June 2015, en route to Zurich, As of now, we still have not received word of wh ere our luggage is and when it will arrive at our residence in Thailand, despite the website claiming the "Delivery Process Initiated" status "shipping to permanent address" . We have contacted your baggageclaims email and and get no response , so we called inthe number call center given us they said our luggage are shipped to the hotel we had stayed in Switzerland and they dont know why this happened. My family is highly disappointed with your service.

I travelled 27 June 2015 from Doha to Tunis with transit to Abudhabi and Rome (RESERVATION CODE : OUOEEM) by Ethihad Airways (EY0390, AZ0853 and AZ0866). Upon arrived to Tunis airport, I did not find one bag (weight : 30 kg ). I have made a claim and give the required information at the counter. Now I am waiting ???

i travelled 16 jan 2015 from mumbai to abudhabi with transit to Hazrat Shajalah Intl (dhaka) by etihad airways ( EY 8717, EY 0253) , upon arrival i did not find the suitecase and i filled the form and give the required info at the counter. to cut the story short i made several calls and many follow up but after 21days also they could not trace my bag. and they open the case for compensation (case no: 315951) that was on 8 feb 2015. i provided all the required documents thro mail. till date i have not recieved the call nor any mail regarding compensation. when sent a reminder yesterday regarding, the mail have been red not still no respond. when i call today ie 25th June2015, the representative ms zeinab says my case still under review and she can not give me any till for how long it would be under review. upon asking further information about the minimum compensation she does not have any answer nor she could guide to any other eithad airways officer who could help me. forget about the compensation etihad will offer they definitely can not compensate me the mental torture i am going through. above all one of the customer representative told me that there was nothing important in my bag, it was all i can buy it again. i really could not believe that i m hearing this answer from the national airline, which also claims to be providing the best services. it seems etihad does not have any regret for the inconvenience passenger went through. very unprofessional, unco operative attitude of baggage claim staff. i would really want to see how long etihad will take to come up with the compensation of my case, and how much is the figure they will come up with. ya i forgot to mention in one of my conversation the staff mention me the claiming amount may be some 50 dhs or something similar. this is the kind of knowledge and information they offer to their customer. thank you, nawera (+971509223825)

I travelled with Etihad Airways fr om Frankfurt Abu Dhabi Mumbai on 20th June 2015 (EY 206). On arrival it was found that my check-in baggage (one suitcase and one box) has not arrived. along with me were approx 20+ passengers with same problem. the etihad staff started to fill the forms & replying that this is the routine work for them as always some of the baggages are loaded in next flight to keep the flights on time for departure from abudhabi and the funny part is that the flight from abudhabi was delayed for 1.5 hrs with captain annoucing delay because of cargo loading. so as procedure the forms were filled & we were assured that baggage will come by next morning flight on 21st June 15 @ 8:40am in Mumbai. The staff provided us with two numbers for contact:9167228475/76 for updates. From 12:00 noon of 21st June till 22nd June 15 18:00 hrs had been calling continously but not a single time this people replied. Also send them sms as " Please beg in front of you..please answer the call" but this stone hearted persons have no proffessional ethics to reply. The box was delivered to me on 22st June 15 by airline & to my horrific surprise the box was completely empty. The box had a portable charger worth 170 euros and was absoultely vanished from the box. The delivery person said " we deliver what was given to us". hence had put email to etihad airlines on same day. till date have send 1 reminder & as truly unprofessional no replies. The suitcase was delivered on 23rd June 15 with damage wheel & condition showing completely rough handling of the baggage. Calling etihad airways baggage tracing landline number in abudhabi was waiting for hrs together with continous recording of " someone will attend shortly" which actually was indication that this people are never interested to attend you. Calling etihad india number was " we have taken your request in email, we will get back in 12 hrs" this was on 21st June 15. No one bothered to call. when checked on website for baggage tracing all its was showing " Black" trolley bag wh ereas from start & details given to people was that the bag is blue in colour. it was changed after i happen to get hold of duty manager contact number from airport. On 22nd June 15 went personally to airport begged in front of security guards; they were kind enough to establish the contact of the etihad office inside airport. when reported about empty box delivery the question was reversed on me as how its possible to deliver a empty box??? moreover i was advised not to call untill airlines calls me untill baggage arrives as many calls go on hold because of people calling etihad numbers.. The only call i got from eithad guy from 9167228475 was today asking about the delivery of my baggage being done yesterday. When i asked him as why my calls & sms were unanswered he just said " sorry..we are not aware!" My reply was " No dont be...as i am sorry that i chose such a unprofessional unethical airline for my travel & would never ever chose this airline in my life & even never recommend to anyone!" the guy just hanged up......great professional manners......Finally......stay at home cancel your travel plans as best option than to fly by Etihad!

Guest : Etihad lost our luggage fr om Abu Dhabi to Sydney and there is nobody that can do anything in regards to this in Australia. We arrived at the airport stranded without our belongings, cold and tired. Etihad information desk informed that there is nothing they can do as they have no idea where our bags are and that we need to leave. They also mentioned that our bags would arrive in the morning (which is a false statement as they are still missing and it's 4:25pm next day) and they have no trace where these bags have gone. After traveling Europe for just over five weeks we have come back empty handed without anything. If such airline is allowed to fly into our country then the Australian Government needs to protect it's Citizens fr om such crime as this as stealing. It is not good enough from Etihad to say that there is no trace and they are lost. The Australian Media needs to hear regarding this as it has become a very common situation after my discussion with the Menzies Aviation staff at the Sydney airport. The Australian Government needs to investigate why this is happening and how is it possible that there is no trace of the bags, wh ere our belongings have gone if they are dealing and allowing this company to enter our country and deal with the life's and property of our Australian Citizens. I would like Etihad airways to provide an explanation of how this can happen to such large number of passenger just last night, how is it possible that Etihad has no trace of these bags if they all have bare codes, how you can call yourself "6 years in the running best airline" and why is this happening so frequently? This will not be the end from me if these bags don't turn up, I will make connections with the Australian media department and the Australian Government to further investigate this frequently reoccurring case of lost luggage from Abu Dhabi to Sydney. Hi, I travelled through Etihad airways and I was completely disappointed in your baggage service. I was travelling from Athens (Greece) to Mumbai and arrived at the Mumbai Airport on 19th June at 3:15 am through EY 206 was waiting for my luggage till 7:00 am. I had checked in with 3 bags FROM Athens but only 2 bags arrived at Mumbai Airport . I have filed a claim but still no response. I have travelled through Emirates, Jet Airways but never have experienced such a disaster. Feel embarrassed after having lost my clothes, cosmetics, electronic items, shoes and few more things which a girl owns. Please try to trace my baggage and return it to me as soon as possible. i need this bag very badly. All my plans are in vain. Please return my things. Facing a difficult situation in a new place due to your poor facility. Waiting for your reply.

Hello Sir, I travelled through Etihad airways and my I was completely disappointed in your baggage service. I arrived at the Chennai Airport on 16 June 9:00 pm through EY 270 and was waiting for my luggage till 11:00 pm. Both the bags which I have checked in didn't arrive. I have filed a claim but still no response. I have travelled through Emirates, Cathay Pacific but never have experienced such a disaster. Feel embarrassed after having lost my clothes and things. Please try to trace my baggage and return it to me as soon as possible. All my plans are in vain. Please return my things. Facing a difficult situation in a new place due to your poor facility.

For 36 hours no complaint was open about my baggage despite repeated mails and calls to the baggage claim counter in Delhi. The number that Etihad provides for complaints for Delhi region doesn't even work. I have called the number 00919871337112 at least 20 times and no one picks up that number for baggage complaints. Finally I called Etiha Abu Dhabi and they had no idea that my baggage was missing. There is NO ONE in Etihad, Delhi who you can talk to regarding missing baggage. Etihad management doesn't exist in India. None of the staff can even locate where the bag is in their system. This is astonishing considering Etihad was rated as the best airline in Asia??? There is no service fr om Etihad. I would not recommend this flight to anyone. I am still waiting for my luggage to be traced. Don't travel ETIHAD. they cannot handle baggage. In last 6 months they have lost more than 1 lakh pcs of luggage from their Abu Dhabi hub. If you connect via this hub carry check in luggage only.

I arrived at kochi on 13th June,Sat by EY246 from Abu dhabi to find my luggage missing.The staff assured me that I will receive it soon,that it will arrive in the next flight.Well its been 2 days now and still no news.Im frustrated and upset as all my reference guides for my upcoming exam are in it,and clothes too.WORST FLIGHT EXPERIENCE EVER.DO NOT TRAVEL BY ETIHAD.The WORST airlines ever.

I declare Etihad to be the worst airlines of the world and not the best as they claim. New York to New Delhi via Abu Dhabi, 1pc of luggage does not arrive on the luggage belt. When we inquired we were told that it's coming on the next flight abd wr will get it in 24 hrs. What lies! Its been 5 days now and after trying their number for over 400 times, its still not with me. Last year too 1 bag got delayed traveling ny to new Delhi, but that was delivered to us in 48 hrs. Imagine 2nd year in a row, delayed baggage or lost baggage, don't know yet. Guys please don't travel Etihad, they are simply the worst.

Etihad is the worst flight . Our luggage is missing since 7th June and yet they don't have any answer. The indian authority is worst in helping also. They can't even give compensation. They are ruthless to talk too.

I am a million miler with one airline and a platinum status on another. I wish I had read this forum before traveling . Etihad is certainly the worst airline when it comes to handling customers in a crisis situation. I too have missing baggage with no trace for 48 hours from a U.S. Borne flight on a business class ticket The service is worse than some of the airlines in the developing world. NEVER FLY etihad !

I have travelled from Hyderabad to Dublin on 4th may and i found my checked in luggage with handle broken. i have gone to the etihad counter while aer lingus staff were taking care of the claims. They gave me a number and i called them and they told me to include all the details of the claim in aer lingus customs related form. After 10 days they have messaged me stating to contact etihad airways directly and this is such a horrible experience i ever had. Guys if you have any suggestions or if the airways has a suggestion let me know what to do?

Before go to Abu Dhabi Airport I check on the site of Abu Dhabi International Airport web page www.abudhabiairport.ae/english/airport-i... about the time i must come to the airport. It says... "Once you have gone through Airport Security, check one of the many screens around the terminal building to ensure that your flight is on time. You could also sign up for SMS or email flight status alerts. Check the number of boarding gate you need to go to, and at what time. Allow plenty of time to get to your boarding gate - some of them are further away than others. Boarding will be announced at least 45 MINUTES before departure and boarding gates will close 15 minutes before departure." In 19th April 2015 i went to the airport at 7:50 am with my wife and one children 7 years old to check in. The plane depart at 8:50 am to Athens. The answer of Etihad i was late and suggested to take the next day plane same time at the price of 5990 AED or 1428 Euro or 1630$ plus i had to stay for extra day to Abu Dhabi. I book with other airline in less money on the same day. After the many e-mails ETIHAD SAYS... We close our check-in counters one hour before departure for our Coral Economy class guests. AFTER THE SECOND EMAIL, "Guest Relations Officer" ETIHAD I would also like to add that, we introduce a policy where we recommend our guest to report at the check-in counter 3-4 hours before their departure time. Which is the correct time to arrive to AHU, 60 min that Etihad say or the airport say 45 min. Because if Etihad apply what the airport says the story will be different. I don't comment 3-4 hours because this sound a joke. If i have a flight at 6:00 AM what the "Guest Relations Officer" Etihad suggest to take my bed with me and arrive at 2:00 AM. The emails that i sent to Etihad the standard answer is always copy+paste answer "At Etihad we place great importance on maintaining the highest levels of personal service and hospitality." No answer to the point. If you plan to visit United Arab Emirates prefer to go to Dubai and choose another carrier NEVER AGAIN!!!! STAY AWAY from this airline QUIZ!!! Which is the only airline who destroyed NEW PLANE A340-600 JUST received it, on 15 November 2007?

Please please sort out the many problems associated with my flight booking. Customer Service staff have been rude to me and staff have made derogatory remarks on social media about me. Do you treat all you disabled passengers in this way. Unacceptable for a prestige carrier such as Etihad.

Ethihad is providing horrible customer service in chennai airport. Before booking the tickets please take care of yourself. Better to buy another flight tickets instead of ethihad.

The lost luggage procedures at Etihad are the worst I've ever encountered. I'd rather fly into Dubai on any other carrier and take a taxi to Abu Dhabi than fly Etihad direct again.

I had lost my cabin bag since 3 months and still so far there was no updates.I travelled on 7th Feb from Abudhabi to Chicago and cabin bag was taken by crew member(air hostess) and handovered to ground staff in Abudhabi airport and promised me that, this bag would collect at Chicago airport.But bag didn't came and reported the missing bag to Baggage officer at Chicago Ohare airport.Then taken the complaint and given the file reference number as (ORDEY13352).After 2 months back they came to know that,they are unable to trace the bag becuase of this is cabin bag and doe's not have tag.I had lost all important docs and cloths.This is one of the bad experience with etihad airways.Please take neccessary precautions while travelling this etihad airline.

One black bag, weighted 23kg has been missing since 10th April. I had travelled from Mumbai to Abu Dabhi by flight EY205.. continued from Abu Dabhi to Dallas by flight EY161. Missing bag tag no is 4607EY751210. Bag was lastly seen at Abu Dabhi. File Reference : DFWEY10048. Traveller : Swati .

Guest : did you received your baggage. I am exectly same problem. My one bag is missing more than a week in which I have my all clothes. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. IT IS NOW NEARLY TWO WEEKS SINCE I HAVE ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND HAD TO REROUTE. THE MEMBER AT THE COUNTER DID NOT PROPERLY TRANSFER MY LUGGAGE AND WAS SEND FROM ONE COUNTER TO ANOTHER COUNTER AND THE MEMBERS WAS NOT EVEN PROPERLY INFORMED ON THAT CURRENT SITUATION. HOW DOES ETIHAD EXPECT THAT ONE MUST WORK WITH ONE SET OF CLOTHES FOR TWO MONTHS, AND EVEN WITHOUT YOUR PERSONAL STUFF ETC? Dear Sir/Madam, On 30th March i came from Chicago to Ahmadabad and my flights are connected between Ethiyad and Jet airways. after more than 36 hours i am unable to get my baggage and satisfactory answers from the jet airways authoritues. Baggage tag no. : EY602020 and EY 602021. Missing baggage complain no. AMD9W16044 i am totally disappointed by the Jet Airways authorities they are not giving me any type of information, they are just telling me Wait for some time you will get your baggage. Omg!!!! I just booked Etihad for my coming trip to munich. Too many negatives issues here n make me so worry bout this airway. If I read the forum here sure I won't take Etihad. I won't mind to pay more to get better services n good holiday!!! Pray hard for my coming trip.

This very cheap flight, We need to think before travel in Etihad airways. I have traveled 3 times, In 3 times 1 time flight dealy 13 waiting in ABU-DHABI, X 2nd time BAG dealy next 3 day received from dammam airport. Only one reached safely. I advising the friends before travel Etihad airways think twice.

please i need an urgent help. I flew with the Etihad Airways on the 27th and on the 28th at the Abu Dhabi Airport. On my way trying to to connect with the next flight to London Heathrow at the Gate 32 after scanning my hand luggages through the machine i left my laptop bag there. I realised it when i entered the plane that i dont have the laptop bag. i tried pleading with the plane officials so that i can rush and get the bag but they refused. They gave me series of forms to fill. They assured me that the bag will arrive London as soon as possible. Please am pleading with the airport securites to please help me. In the bag i have my original documents inside it. Thanks

Worst airline I have ever traveled. Raciest Arabs discriminating women everywhere on the Abu Dhabi airport. Airplane is full of cheap Indian labor flight attendants who have no training how to treat the passengers, I have not seen any smile or respect in their eyes during 16 hours long flight. Very disappointed and will never fly with Etihad.

With partner services like Air Lingus you don't need rivals. They are enough to give you a bad name in travel services. My sister travelled from India to USA by Etihad..... And they allowed her 2 bags each weighing 23 kgs....as baggage allowance. On her return flight Air Lingus charged her $100 for her 2nd bag allowing her only one bag of 23 kgs in baggage allowance so I guess either Etihad doesn't pay Air Lingus enough in partner services hence they need to make money like this.. Thus giving Etihad a bad name..well who needs competitors. Partners like this are enough to destroy the reputation. But I need to understand what does Etihad want with tourists traveling to USA... To leave a bag behind for Air Lingus don't tell me they are so desperate... compliments to Etihad your partners are penny wise pound foolish. Comments sad situation all Etihads hard work is in vain. Complaint many more blogs to come Btw this family consists of 60 people most of them residing in USA Dubai and India...WHAM did I say penny wise pound foolish? Well this is my feedback to Etihad....but I am sure all those who read it get the gist.. Pay $100 for the bag which you were allowed and brought with you in the first place or else leave your bag behind as a gift to Air Lingus - partner to Etihad Airways or one more option choose another airline....
