Fiji airways pacific links service is very very poor..18/11/2016 flight from Labasa to nadi 12.45 pm crew name Rachana was soo soo rude and create embarrassing situation. Iam a frequent traveler local and abroad and I understand airline procedures on the same flight another passagener exchanged seats she didn't say anything and she was also rude to my mom. She doesn't know how to treat elders.??

Yea i think they had one of their aircraft in for servicing that time, or maybe earlier than that. People had issues with delayed flights over xmas and new years. There isn't much competition except just a bit from Northern Air, who are flying Islander aircraft on some routes in Fiji now. We can only hope things improve over time. I know air pacific is undergoing a re-structure. Most people have negative views of this mainly due to job redundancies of staff, but we have to accept that other airlines are also re-structuring to uplift profit margins and create better services. Results just don't appear overnight. We should trust our local airline to perform better in time to come. Managing an airline is not like managing a business on the street. There are millions of dollars involved in training staff and aircraft maintenance. We could easily say we need competition but does not necessarily mean improvement. The runways are not short for landing. Those runways have been there for ages. Pacific Sun has STOL (short field takeoff and landing) aircraft for which the runway lengths are adequate. Its more to do with viability. Using smaller aircraft for remote destinations and larger aircraft like their ATR's for common routes. For those of us who were born in Fiji and now living overseas....accept that Fiji is not the 1st world country that you living in now. So it is obvious that some things may work out different from expected. Don't expect that things would change just because you are complaining about delayed flights...most of us have gone down that road.

Pacific sun owned by Air pacific has great difficiculty keeping thier schedule, often you get delayed or worse still stuck in Nadi or the outer islands for a day or two. I write this as i wait for my mother in law to arrive in a different airport to that booked 90 minutes drive away rather than 10 minutes. And she was delayed from a 10 am departure to a 1530 departure as well. My brother was delayed 2 days on his way back to sydney and 1 day on the way here. friends one day each way. And this is all in the past 6 weeks! It does seem to be a Fiji problem and that includes an investment problem. The Fiji problem is typical of business here, poor discipline from poor managment and some nepotism mixed in. The only solution for that is competition but any strong player would no doubt put Pac Sun out of the game so you cant win. The investment problem is both government and Pac Sun, the airports are poorly equiped most do not have electronic navigation and the runways are too short for most passanger planes.
