I'm getting ready to fly with them, actually sitting in terminal waiting on the flight. I'm not yet sure how the flight is or the service but I'm here to talk about the check in. After reading online on their official page that military with ID and not on orders can have three complimentary bags checked per person I came with a larger bag to fit my gear and regular clothes.went to check in and was told that the policy had recently changed and military in uniform with orders can check bags for free. FYI, their page on baggage fees does not reflect this corporate change. I'm in the army and for force protection issues most of us even when on orders do not fly in uniform, I don't even use military bags unless I'm heading on a deployment. Even coming back from a deployment when I went from milair to commercial air I had to change out of the uniform. Anyway, 25 x2 unexpected dollars for a baggage fee I could deal with had I known ahead of time. Depending on the rest of my experience will determine if I ever fly this airline or it's parent airline again. I will be contacting their customer service as well. So just be prepaired for unadvertised changes to their policies.

We booked flights months ago on Silver Airways from Tallahassee to San Jose, Costa Rica. It is June 24th at 9 am and we get an email that our flight on June 26th has been cancelled. We have had to book new flights thru American Airlines and are paying an additional $500. When I spoke to Chaz with guest relations at Silver his only response was we refunded your money and you should have bought trip insurance. This is not how you do business. What a sorry excuse for a company. I will not do business with them again.

Just a reminder to remain fair to this airline, people will always complain about their BAD experience. People rarely take time to post about their good experience. This will make this airline or any company look bad.

Agree with all previous reviewers. Have not flown on Spirit, but in my experience this is the worst airline ever. We are frequent and loyal United customers. When I booked my trip from Houston to Key West and back, I had no idea I would be flying on a completely separate airline on the leg into and out of Key West. 1) Connection in Tampa on the way to Key West was first delayed two hours, and then eventually canceled. I was given no option other than to possibly take a flight out 24 hours later, or use another carrier the next morning, which would require multiple stops and triple the flight time. I choose to rent a car and drive overnight, seven hours from Tampa to key west at a cost of over $340, in order to not * an entire day of vacation. There was no mention of refund or reimbursement for the cost of the car. I do have a customer service number and will make an attempt to contact someone tomorrow but am not particularly hopeful. 2) Today was our return flight. We were unable to check in for our flight online because there is no connection whatsoever between United and silver, despite having paid for the ticket through United's website. Called Silvers customer service and spent 30 minutes to obtain confirmation numbers for myself, my husband, and my kids, and was told that this would enable us to check in on their website. Representative stated he could not check us in over the phone. After wrestling with the site for 15 more minutes, I got only an error message stating that they were unable to assign seats for the flight. So, the 4 of us went to the airport 2 1/2 hours before flight time to ensure we would not be bumped. Then 10 minutes before boarding we were given an announcement that the flight was delayed an hour and 40 minutes. After waiting the additional hour and a half, we were told the flight was again delayed another 30 minutes. This now put our connection in jeopardy, and we were looking at possibly having to spend the night in Fort Lauderdale. Fortunately United was on the ball and realized that about half of the silver flight coming from Key West was connecting to Houston. They held the Houston flight an additional 15 minutes, so we just barely made it. The entire last day of our vacation was wasted dealing with this airline. Frankly the two incidents of both the inbound and outbound flights ruined our vacation. I'm more stressed now coming home from the airport than I was when I left. I am disappointed in United for placing their customers on this type of airline. We will never fly any route serviced by silver again. We will probably not visit Key West again because this experience placed a black cloud over the whole trip.

Silver Airways advertises that they are a top 10 airline according to Conde Nast. I checked that information and it is accurate. The credibility of Conde Nast is suspect at best. Our experience: Booked a 1 hr 10min TPA to EYW flight and arrived at the airport to find that it was delayed by 4 hours. The agent insisted that we wait in the airport because it might leave earlier-she informed us that it was delayed due to mechanical problems. After waiting for 3 1/2 hours, the flight was cancelled. The airline had no travel options for 2 days. Upon speaking to a supervisor he reassured us that he travels frequently and that delays and cancellations are common. He was unable to provide any solutions I checked the Silver flights to and from Tampa that day and none were on time, the majority over an hour late, many over 3 hours late. If you use this airline anticipate poor customer service, delays and cancellations. If you call their service hot line, anticipate spending over 1 hour to get incomplete solutions and weary, hostile individuals (their job must be terrible). I do not know how such a company can survive.

SILVER AIRWAGS PLANE WAS DIRTY INSIDE AND IT SMELLED LIKE A TOILET. THE AIRBALL OVER HEAD WAS BROKEN SO THE AIR WAS NOT COMING OUT. IT WAS JUST DANGLING YOU COULD PUSH IT ALL THE WAY TNROUGH WITH YOUR FINGER. THE NOISE INSIDE THE CABIN WAS SO LOUD YOU NEED EARPLUGS. WHERE DID THEY GET THESE PLANES FROM? Cambodia or some place like that.fwxf

May 23, 2014. MCO-PNS 3:25 pm flight # 3988 NEVER AGAIN.... EVER... First and LAST experience with this sad little airline. Upon arriving at gate 36, it was noted that the flight was to leave 1 hour late. That being posted, I walked around the terminal, used the restroom and searched for magazines (still within earshot of my gate) as I was trying to pass the time since there was an unexpected delay. Once I came back to my gate, (well within boarding time for an hour delay) I was told they had already shut the doors for my flight. I was in both disbelief and shock, as the letterboard stated a 1 hour delay. I asked the girl if there was anything she could do, and she said no, as she smirked at me. My entire vacation (whopping 3 days) was now completely ruined and it had hit me that I wasted over $300 on an airline that had employees who found it funny when a passenger was in distress. The employee who was rude, unhelpful, and had a complete disregard for this situation was Ashley. What a putrid human being. I informed her someone who can help was needed, so she called Gill who, bless his heart, tried endlessly to assist me with no real success. Being both in Army Nat'l Guard, as well as a full-time teacher, it is necessary that I plan any R&R time with extreme percision as I get very little time off. Because of this airlines poor communications skills, and horrid customer service reps, I am truly amazed (as I manage to travel often) this airline remains in business...

HORRIBLE SERVICE, airline canceled flight from MCO to RSW after waiting for over four hours, employees claimed that the flight was canceled due to the weather, but in actuality they don’t have enough pilots to fly the planes, then set a new flight at 8:00am just to delay the flight for mechanical failures. I had to rent a car and drive instead because they could not guarantee to arrive by the scheduled time. Airline refuses to refund tickets even if it is due to their incompetence.

AWFUL. Silver Airways lost my baggage. Not delayed, just lost. Stranded at airport & had to rent a car to drive back home the next day. While the sole employee at the counter unsuccessfully attempted to locate my luggage, other passengers arrived to complain. They were from different Silver flights, each had a different issue, as if a parallel line of "complaint" passengers formed next to those checking their baggage. Stay away from this company.

Finally boarding this flight 3hours late with this crew who we had to wait for. All our seats have been reassigned. The crew members we had to wait for are sitting in paying customers seats. He was asked to move by a customer he then went to the front of the plane and proceeded to * about the other customers loudly. This is the most unprofessional airline I have ever been on.

Turkey terrible service both ways. After a 2 hour delay, we were told we would have to wait on a different crew member because they didn't want to delay another flight. We could see crew members eating in chili's while we all waited another hour.

Flying Atlanta to Meridian, MS, Silver cancelled our flight at the gate. After 3 hours wait, gave us a hotel voucher, told us where to collect our bags. By midnight, bags had not come out, Silver had no staff at airport and has no 24 hour line. Finally we gave up on the bags and just went to the hotel Silver had booked for us. At the hotel they told us, "We don't have a room for you. We told Silver there was nothing available when they called and tried to book for you."

NEVER get on a plane that says silver airways on it. I believe their motto says something about being safe. They are most definitely the safest airline around. The reason for this however is the fact that their planes never leave the ground. I only believe that they bought the planes for looks. I wonder if they get a tax break or something. This business is soooo bad that it must be a front for something else. I was booked on a flight from Tupelo MS to Atlanta. After sitting in the terminal for 5 hours I was finally notified that my flight had been cancelled by EMAIL. I asked the people at the counter about the flight and they didn't even know that it had been canceled. After they finally figured out that indeed it had been cancelled they asked me if I wanted to book the same flight for the next day. This will not help me and I tell them no. I asked for a refund and they gave me a 1-800 number to call. After FINALLY getting someone on the phone I find out that I had been booked on a flight for the next day. They said someone at the ticket counter must have done this. Not only was I booked on another flight to Atlanta, but then from Atlanta to Houston Texas, and then on to Honolulu. I told her that I didn't know how this happened I that I didn't do this. She actually got defensive when I informed her that I didn't want to go to any of these places. These people are a special breed of morons.

Never fly with this airline! The people are unprofessional, rude, and inappropriate. They cancelled my personal ticket and did not even notify me. I continued to get emails stating that my flights and seat were "good to go." Not only did THEY make a mistake on their end, they didn't fix it. I wasn't able to fly and I missed my entire trip! After speaking up about how inappropriate this was and the way I was treated was inappropriate, I was told that I would never be allowed to fly Silver Airways again and that the customer is not always right with Silver Airways. When I spoke with customer service, I was told the same thing. After writing to the customer service center with a complaint, I was told that what the employees did was inappropriate and to accept a $200 voucher. Too bad all flights round-trip cost much more than $200. What a * of time and money. Save yourself the hassle!

First and last time I fly Silver Airways. Flight leaving Orlando to Pensacola was delayed for 4 hours no explanation given. Pensacola back to Orlando 20 minutes before boarding time we get an announcement that the flight would be delayed for 5 hours leaving at 9:20 due to crew rest. Never heard of this before! They issued $12 food vouchers for the only restaurant which had no food. While sitting in the freezing cold airport I started hearing horror stories from some of the other passengers. One lady had been sitting in different airports for TWOndays and still was not home die to this airline! I have flown many tea and have never experienced anything like this. Horrible service! You can't tell e that someone did not know several hours prior to our boarding time that there was an issue with the crew instead they just waited until the last minute! I have a friend that contacted me while I was sitting to tell me of her horrible experience with this airline that also happened to her this week. I am just glad this happened to me and not one of my children! I never write stuff like this but this is truly a horrible airline and if I can stop one person from having this same thing happen to them I will be happy. I am praying I will actually be departing tonight and they don't chance something At the last minute again!! Happy traveling

There were Not enough vouchers for two cabs which our group needed and the hotel voucher was for two different hotels hit the cabs only took us to one.. My wife is disabled and the bus trip was a nightmare .. The driver didn't even speak English .. The stewardess at the airlines lied multiple times to everyone.. But they couldn't keep thier stories strait.. Basicly made the entire trip one from HELL .. They don't care, they are sloppy, unprofessional, lazy, and the next recipient of a lawsuit .. It has now been 12 weeks since Silver Airways canceled my flight at the last minute with no explanation, after a several hour delay. There was no weather problem and it appeared they canceled because of only 5 passengers. They offered to fly us on the next flight 24 hours later or refund our fare. We opted for a refund. Still waiting !!! Case #1414. RATE them a ZERO, particularly out of Gainesville and Tampa

Arrived in Atlanta to find out my flight to Hattiesburg, MS had been cancelled. There wasn't anyone at the desk, you had to call a posted 800 number for customer service. Yes, confirmed, the flight has been cancelled. OK, what do I do now...? Oh, there may be a flight later tonight ( this maybe answer was given several times ) hang tight. After 2 hours, sorry, flight cancelled. No flights until tomorrow.....maybe... I left to get true information from Delta agent, and exchanged my ticket for an early morning flight with them. Spent night in Atlanta airport. Never again....

Flight cancelled after wait 3 hours and told flt was just being delayed. Then they put the 6 passengers on a van and drove them 4 hours to orlando. I was told, after waiting one hour for a rep to answer the phone, that no refund because they were being given an option to get to there destination. I will also add that the passengers are 82 and. 85 years old. They could have taken greyhound for $42. Unbelievable that this company is able to continue. I will do what I can to make sure that people know about this company's practices. Will file as many complaints with as many agencies as possible. They need to be stopped.

BEWARE: March 17, 2014, boarded flight 3065 in Atlanta to Washington DC where it was snowing. After the flight being delayed over 2 hours to start with, we sat in the plane for over an hour while the pilots checked the plane and did what ever they do. Flew for half hour, then pilot advised that they had begun the flight to a location where it was snowing and they did not have working de-icing equiptment so they turned around back to atlanta. After an hour of flying, returning to the gate, the gate attendant informed the passengers that she had no information on what was happening and that she was over due for her lunch break, then promptly picked up her purse and left the gate area with no other employees in sight. IF YOU WANT TO RISK YOUR LIFE, YOU WILL HAVE A HIGH CHANCE OF IN ON THIS AIRLINE

I would definitely confirm these comments after working there for 2 weeks the airline has some major internal management issues with too many chiefs and no Indians. They are poorly run and have failed inspections with DHS/TSA on many occasions deeming it not a safe airline then they have the nerve to complain to the DHS/TSA home office in DC about the inspector and when DHS/TSA sent another inspector the conclusion was the same. Just ask yourself before you fly them how much is your life worth to you? Spend the extra money and fly an airline that is safer.

I don't recommend Silver Airways. After long delays they cancelled multiple flights from Key West simultaneously without explanation. The major airlines proved to be more reliable in getting people off the island. It was impossible to discuss options with Silver Airways via phone and the few employees at the airport were overwhelmed. One of the TSA agents indicated that the cancellations are common with Silver. All that said, the two Silver Airways employees that I was able to speak with over the 5 hours we were at the airport were both genuinely trying to help us find a solution. I just wish that they had the opportunity to work for a more reputable airline.

The absolute worst experience I've had in my 35 years of flying. It is ridiculously apparent that the airline bumps passengers when a flight is not full, despite causing them to miss their connections, not once, but multiple times, repaying our incredible inconvenience with pathetic food vouchers. Take the speed boat from Ft. Meyers, rent a car or walk to your final destination... Just don't fly silver! The inconvenience was only compounded by the airline's direct lies. Fliers be ware

My family have an international flight with another carrier. When they came here to Fl, the other airline did not charge them for their luggages for their domestic flight. But when they returned home, they took Silver airways, and surprise surprise, they did not honor their international flight because it was in a " different ticket". As there were 4 of them with 2 checked baggages each, they ended up paying $240! The guy in the counter said to call their customer service so they can get a refund. Customer service was HORRIBLE!! Not helpful at all! My advice is, don't take flights with them! Worst airline ever!

Both of my flights on this airline have been delayed by literally hours. It has been a nightmare flying them, and the only reason I got out of my departure city is because they put me on a different airline. Its all mechanical issues, or plane delays coming from other airports. They said the first flight was going to be delayed by an hour, and I left 6 hours later (on a different airline). This flight was supposed to make my life easier, but it has been a terrible experience.

I have tried unsuccessfully to contact your customer service number via phone. I am writing you because I booked a flight for my 70 tear old mother to visit for Thanksgiving and my daughters 14th birthday. I made the reservations on 11/16/2013 via Expedia.com. My mother told me there was a special running from Muscle Shoals to Atlanta for $49.00 each way. I did not find that fare and booked at the then advertised rate of $88.00 each way. The currently advertised rate is $39.00 each way. The flight was supposed to leave at 5:50 pm on 11/26/2013. My mother arrived at 3:00 pm and waited. She was told that the flight was delayed until 6:30 due to backups in Atlanta. Again she waited. She was eventually told that the flight would not be departing until 8:00. It appears that the flight did takeoff at some point but returned to the Muscle Shoals terminal due to equipment failure. She was told that the airline was trying to secure another plane from Atlanta to take the passengers from Muscle Shoals to Atlanta. After waiting another hour and a half she was told to go home and she would be called to inform her of progress. She received a call at 10:00 pm saying that there would not be a flight that day and she could fly out at 9:00 am on the 27th. All total on November 26th she spent 6 -7 hours at the Muscle Shoals airport. Today is November 27 and again she arrived at the Muscle Shoals airport at 7:30 am for the 9:00 flight. As it stands now she has been told that the flight was delayed from 9:00 until 1:00, then from 1:00 to 2:00 and at this very moment she called and said they were just told that the flight will not be leaving until 3:00. She has been waiting 7 hours today to board a flight that should take less than two hours to complete. In total if the flight leaves at 3:00 today she will have spent 15 hours waiting to take a two hour flight. The fare and the travel time was so attractive that we would have endured some discomfort in order to experience those two positives. However, a 70 year old woman who has had numerous heart operations, broken pelvis, ruptured spleen, punctured lung etc. from an automobile accident that was not her fault, is extremely upset. Not to mention that the accommodations at the Muscle Shoals Airport are nowhere near accommodations one could find at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson. I don't know what the remedy is here or how this situation can be made better. A start would be to honor the $39.00 fare for the current trip (if she ever makes it) and some sort of voucher for future travel. I would love to speak with someone from your company in order to voice my displeasure. I am also aware that whomever I may speak with cannot alter time or make any direct changes to the current situation but at least I can be heard.

DON'T FLY THIS "piece of crap" airline!!! It's virtually impossible to make a connection with another airline.. ABSOLUTLY NO RELIABILITY!!!! Everything is a "DELAY" and very scarily it seems to be MECHANICAL MOST OF THE TIME!!!!!! The "tattered " old SAAB aircraft are scarey enough, but they arbitrally change schedule without any notice to you and leave you high and dry! What airline closes shop at 11:00 PM in the evening and opens back up at 7:00am??? THIS ONE!! So if you find you have a "Delay or cancellation" after 11:00 pm when your "checking in" online for your morning flight, YOU'RE SCREWED!!!! And they expect you to pay!!!! I attempted to cancel the flight the that day after they opened, got recordings and left messages!!! Have never gotten a response! Have left 6 messages with thier customer care, NO RESPONSE! This started on 11/17/13 and the current date is 11/26/13!!! I wonder how much attention they are paying to aircraft if this is how they pay attention to thier customers??? I will never use this "Joke of an airline" again!! UNITED EXPRESS for UNITED AIRLINES is who these "Jokers" are affiliated, they must be very proud........

I've never been one to write negative reviews after I've been a dissatisfied customer. To me, that came across as whiny. But when I realize that something is a scam, that's when I have to warn other customers about it. If you book with Silver Airlines, you'll end up losing money when you hope to save money. Our flight was supposed to leave fr om Tallahassee to Orlando at 2 PM and was delayed for an hour and a half for NO given reason. Then, it was delayed again for an unset time because the plane had a "mechanical error" and that they were flying in a mechanic from Tampa to fix it. The mechanic arrived at 5, so I went to go get something to eat. When I came back at 6 PM after six hours of waiting in the Tallahassee airport and four hours of delay for a simple one hour flight, one of my fellow passengers came up to me and said "They CANCELLED our flight." The best they could do was to get me to Orlando (wh ere I needed to be at for a teacher workshop I was going to) at 2 PM when I needed to be there at 8 AM. Needless to say, I just got a refund and called the whole thing a loss. I call this a "scam" because after I did some reading on the company, flights are cancelled when either 1. not enough people are on the flight and so a high enough profit can't be made or 2. when the cost of the flight would be greater than the profit itself (in this case, fixing a broken plane). If something sounds too good to be true-a plane ticket that is cheaper than Delta by hundreds of dollars-it probably is. Silver Airways is a rip-off. They're a new company and I pray they end young. They ruined the days of me-a schoolteacher trying to attend a conference to help students learn, my fellow passengers-one of who was a young man who had just been released after serving a jail term for three years and longed to see his family, and the poor college kids who agreed to work for a sketchy airline to make a buck. At that glimmers isn't gold, and all "silver" doesn't shine. Please, stay FAR FAR AWAY.

On a recent flight from Atlanta to Orlando, it was announced in the gate area that the flight would be delayed 3-4 hours. There was no communication to the passengers about why. No updates. No nothing. When people approached the gate agents to find out why, they were greeted with attitude, eye rolls and heavy sighs--like we were bothering them. Once we finally boarded the plane, the gate agent got on and seemed to confuse the flight attendant about who was on the flight and needed further confirmation. So they had a "roll call"....called out every passenger by name, seat number, etc. for verification. Isn't that something they should know with the boarding process? This delayed the flight even longer; about 15 more minutes. On the return flight from Orlando to Atlanta, the flight was once again delayed. This time because there was no crew at the flight's origin in Gainesville, Florida. This delay was about 2 hours. The whole situation was ridiculous. I had never heard of Silver Airways before I booked the flight on Orbitz. Now I know why. They don't seem to know what's going on, the personnel is rude and scheduling seems to be at their whim. I would NEVER fly this airline again. Next time I'll fly Delta, even if I have to pay more. At least I know I'll get there in a timely fashion.

I was rudley told but the check in clerk that I had to pay for my own hotel and taxi fares ,but I could purchase new tickets home on another airline if I wanted to get home sooner. I called and contacted them and got no were. My family and I travel to Free port 3 times a year and this is the first time I used Silver Airline and it will be my last.

This AIrline is a rip off, they refuse to fully refund passengers when they are in the wrong. They will not admit its there fault and blame it on the weather.

These people are pitiful. We were constantly lied to. The whole terminal was full of people who were misled about their flight times. I have never in my life seen anything like it. They sent two bus loads of people to Orlando and key west because they could not put them on a plane. We were completely bumpted along with anyone going to bimini or Bahamas so they could send people to tampa. Needless to say we will never use them again and we lost our vacation. Thanks again Silver...I will be sure to pass your name along to everyone I know.

I arrived at 11 am for my flight from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale that was scheduled to begin boarding at 11:47 am for take off at 12:17 pm. The entire time I waited the display referred to a delayed flight to Pensacola scheduled at 11:41 am. I asked the agent when would she board my flight to Fort Lauderdale. She said soon. I waited for at least half an hour as they boarded other flights then went to use the bathroom for less than 10 minutes. When I returned I asked what flight was being boarded and was told it was for the Bahamas. About 15 minutes later I asked the same agent when would the Fort Lauderdale flight begin boarding. To which she responded that it had already left. When I expressed my dismay to how I could have missed the flight after waiting in fullview of the agent for almost an hour she replied that she announced it from "right here , at least three times", gesturing that she did not use the Public address system. I was given a ticket fora flight leaving 6 hours later. The other agent would not acknowledge that it was reasonable to expect a wider window for or an updated screen especially since boarding time had changed.

Total agree with "Mary Griffis" reviews. We had a horrible customer service with this airline. I dont think it should be opperated at all. We've recieved more than 12 e-mail saying that our flight would be delayed due to unexplain reason. We almost lost of job because of travelling with this airline. We would never book with this airline again and i would put tell all my friends and families not to book flight through this airline if they were to travel.

Terrible customer service! They said they would refund the bagage fee we paid because our plane was late and we missed our connecting flight. When I called they said it wasnt their fault the plane was delayed, it was nature and therefore they would not refund my $75! They took my money but never sent my bags to my final destination! I had to pay another 75$ to United. I will never fly with them again!!!

How do they loose a bag on a non stop flight with less than a dozen people?
