Simple stated: this company sucks on so many levels! Horrible experience. Steer clear! Still not home. I hope we make it! Mechanical issue after mechanical issue. Very unsettling to say the least. Very poorly trained employees. Don't fly Silver. Don't invest.

DO NOT FLY ON SILVER!!! Do you want to spend 2 days to fly 1 hour to Ft. Lauderdale? Three strikes against Silver and they are OUT in my book: (1)Strike ONE: Maintenance Maintenance seems to be subpar to the point of doubt. Our flight to Ft. Lauderdale on 3/22 was delayed 6 hours, a flight to Orlando took off (much delayed) in the meantime, but returned after a short foray because of smoke in the cabin. During our long wait at Marsh Harbour, we heard nightmare stories from other passengers of delays and cancelled fights due to mechanical problems. We heard about flights the day before that had been cancelled for that reason. A week before, a flight had been delayed and then cancelled for mechanical problems. Upon returning home (a day late), I read about a flight from Washington that had had problems with the landing gear! We heard that Silver was originally great when it had mechanics from Saab (probably why it won the Regional Airlines award) , but is now skimping on maintenance. Taxi drivers, hotel keepers, even pilots roll their eyes when you talk about traveling on Silver. (2) STIKE TWO: Lack of organization/incompetency. Endemic to our 1-1/2 days waiting to get out of Marsh Harbour was the complete lack of planning on the part of Silver and executive functioning on the part of its staff in Marsh Harbour. After waiting over 8 hours, the plane from Ft. Lauderdale arrived to take us back to the States (with a mechanic on board to fix the smoke problem that had arisen on the aborted Orlando flight). We expecting the boarding process to begin soon. Instead, when the long waited announcement came after 10 pm, we were informed that our flight was cancelled, because the flight attendant who had come on the inbound flight was "timed out". How could Silver not know this? How could Silver not have sent over an attendant who could make the return flight? When the pretty complacent passengers, who had been waiting since 2 or 3 pm, got * , the person in charge retreated behind locked glass doors. Another example. We were then told that we would take off at 9:15 the next morning. As we left our hotel at 8 am for the airport, we saw the pilot and co-pilot heading to the restaurant for breakfast. It turns out that they were timed out, too! How could Silver not have known this? Why didn't they tell us to return at 11, which is about when we finally started boarding? Even then, the fuel was not put on until the pilots were aboard. Could that have been done sooner? Note also that it took about 30 minutes to rebook us on another flight to Chicago--how could it take so long? We were rebooked multiple times due to cascading delays, amounting to hours spent at the desk. Help seemed unable to deal with crisis management. 3) STRIKE THREE: Lack of communication No announcements were made as to why our flight was delayed (ditto for the flight to Orlando), how long it would be delayed, or what exactly was going on. The only way to get some inkling of what to expect was to go to the counter and beg for information. The idea of letting people know through a general announcement what was going to happen (or even that the poor staff had no idea of what was going to happen) seemed like an alien concept. I Ill never fly this airline again. Fly American! Fly Bahamas Air. But DO NOT FLY SILVER unless you are prepared to deal with maintenance issues, lack of organization (i.e. incompetent management) and not knowing what is happening to you. Take charge of your destiny and go elsewhere to fly.

Never flying this sad excuse for an airline again. United should be ashamed for associating with them. Delay after delay after day. They recirculate excuse after excuse. It's like spin the wheel of excuses: weather, no crew, maintenance. It became comical listening to the lies they told unsuspecting passengers. Save yourself the hassle and fly a reputable airline.

Absolutely the worst Airline I have ever flown with! 4 hour Flight delay leaving Tampa because they went thru 3 planes before they could get one in flight ready condition..My return flight from Pensacola I arrived at the airport at 6am only to find out they just cancelled it and didnt notify the passengers! I went on at 10;30 the night before to check in just to make sure the flight was scheduled.. They told me that they cancelled it at 11pm. Great and notified no one! Never again, even if it were on time the continued late and missed flights were all due to plane repair issues not weather. These guys are going to have a major catastrophe on their hands one day...

If you have had a bad experience with this airline (as I have), file a complaint with www.dot.gov If enough people complain, then they will be investigated. I flew from Salt Lake City to Dulles to then catch Silver Airways to Morgantown WV. I paid DOUBLE for the "convenience" of flying into Morgantown directly rather than have my son in law drive to Pittsburg to pick me up. I arrived in Dulles and only learned when I got to Silver Airways that they had cancelled my flight to Morgantown. This was 8:30 pm. There were nearly two dozen of us stuck. They finally arranged for two shuttle vans to DRIVE us FOUR HOURS to Morgantown and Clarksburg. We arrived at the Morgantown Airport at 3 a.m. -- it was closed of course. They did not offer any compensation for the cancelled flight & had a "too bad - so sad" attitude about it all. I called Orbitz who I had booked thru & they were of no help at all (won't be using them again either!). I called United Airlines to see if they could rebook my flight to return home (which was supposed to originate in Morgantown) out of Pittsburg instead. They were able to do at no additional charge, but still, Silver Airways should compenstate. One of the persons on my van to Morgantown had flown out of Morgantown the prior Saturday and the flight left 10 hours LATE! This is completely unacceptable. My son in law told me that he knows of others who have had their flights arbitrarily cancelled by Silver Airways. I wish I had read reviews on them before I booked -- I would have opted for the cheaper and more reliable flights in and out of Pittsburg.

Had to cancel trip due to illness. They said the only way to get a credit/refund was to get a doctor's excuse and maybe customer relations would "grant" a refund. Regardless, there was a $200 dollar change fee, and they would "credit" me the $68 difference into a sky account to be applied to another ticket within a year. OH, BTW, the prepaid baggage charge is also non-refundable. To set up the sky account, they wanted more information than I was willing to give, so I'm out a total of $318.00. There are too many other airlines with better programs, so Silver will never see me on one of their flights.

THE WORST AIRLINE EVER!!! Lost our Luggage, Flight delayed 6 hours, HORRIBLE customer service. They don't respond to emails and make the same promises over and over, yet do nothing. Every time you call, they open a new service number- we must have 20- and pretend like it's the first time they heard your story. When they finally found our bags, we had to drive two hours to get them- they refused to deliver them as promised. Tried to contact PR people, Brian McCormick- new customer service CEO- what a joke. He doesn't care either. SAD EXCUSE FOR AN AIRLINE

Find another way to fly to Key West from Tampa! DO NOT book with the United partner Sliver Airways. We were delayed 4+ hours leaving Tampa and 7+ hours returning. We received $10 food vouchers in Key West after demanding them, and then were told that the one bathroom on the aircraft was not functioning (it wouldn't flush). Oh , yes, they provided a beverage service. We spoke to others in the Key West airport who recommended booking the flight through Delta or United, flying to Atlanta, Ga. and then taking a Delta or United flight to Key West. United NEEDS TO DROP Silver Airways as a partner, AAA of Florida needs to stop booking their flights to K.W. from Tampa, and people need to spread the word. Time for the company to feel it $. Fix it or stick a fork in it.

Two planes on the ground ready to go and they can't get paperwork to pilots. Just a few minutes ago they didn't know where these planes were going. Flying from Tampa to ft lauderdale on 3/23/15 sat on Tamarac for 45 minutes waiting on an airport shuttle- are you kidding me? People getting off the plane said they sat on the Tarmac for 6 going People sitting here waiting since before noon to fly to marsh island Bahamas - delayed 4 times. This is a total cluster and we will never fly silver again!!!!

We booked through Orbits round trip Jacksonville to Ft Lauderdale, with the return trip being Silver Airways, what a NIGHTMARE! Our flight home was for 3:40 at 7PM they told us our flight was canceled, they booked us a hotel in Miami with food vouchers and sent us to baggage claim then on to a shuttle service. Get down there traveling with 3 of us, returning from my daughters wedding my luggage is missing. It took them a good hour to locate it. Finally take the shuttle to Miami, get there the hotel is fully booked, which they had called Silver over an hour ago to let them know. So back to Ft Lauderdale hoping there is still someone at the ticket counter. It took them over another hour to locate another hotel in Miami, so back on a shuttle, back to Miami again, we arrive at 11:30, food vouchers in hand and the restaurant closed at 11! Not a happy camper by any means at this point. They booked us on American the next day and we had to pay for checked luggage once again. By the way Silver charged us $25 each for checked luggage on a flight they canceled and am having to hassle with them to get the money back. If you call their customer service number they don't want to talk to you they want to deal with you via their on line web sight, really. If you don't want to talk to customers then WHY do you have a customer service number? After 2 days of hasseling wiht them I gave up , called my bank and did a charge back. They finally ticked me off !!!!

Silver Airways, get your act together for God's sake! We drove from Savannah, GA to Jacksonville Florida to take a plane to Ft Lauderdale, FL for a conference. When we left home at 6 a.m. there was no notice that the flight was delayed, nor were we ever emailed. When we arrived at airport, it was delayed by 3 hours. We got different reasons from different Silver Airways personnel, so we still don't know why. On the return trip, the same thing happened, no email ever received about a delay, and online no notice the night before that our 10:10 a.m. flight might be delayed. Our flight was again delayed 3 hrs, with none of personnel knowing if it was really going to fly out. We learned online the next day that people have been complaining about these same things since at least early 2014 The biggest customer service offenses: No-one ever said we're so sorry. No one told us why we were delayed. The personnel were extremely stressed out and not very nice. No one notified us by email of the dealays. I will never fly Silver Airways again and wonder why United is partnered partner with such a disorganized, customer no-service airline!

After being told flight 122 from Fort Lauderdale to Jax was delayed 3-4 time but that we WOULD be flying, the Flight cancelled after 9PM. I had to be in Jacksonville the next day and had to rent a car to make the 5 hour road trip. Cancellation was not weather related. It appeared that flights from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa, Orlando, and Key West were all cancelled too with odd reasoning and when pressed the staff was not able to provide proper explanation or satisfactory compensation.

What you folks don't understand is they can't find pilots. The pay there sucks for a pilot. Less than $22000.00 a year. That's why your flights are canceled. I am a professional pilot who wouldn't work for them. Planes are not broken, why you folks continue to fly these regional * carriers is amazing.

Sorely disappointed. We fly at least twice a year and on Dec 23 the airline was awful. Flight #77 departing Key West 5:23 ended up being 7:30 pm missed connection and had a voucher for a hotel. Big deal; I missed the party. For some reason Silver Airways can't get their act together, esp. after reading all the other comments. Corporate Office please don't let anyone overbook or leave one seat empty!!!!!! How about a free flight as compensation????

To whom it may concern. I have tried phoning Silver Airways on several occasions in the past few days using several numbers found on your site. It is impossible to get speak to anybody. I have emailed your "GuestRelations@silverairways.com" twice, and also with no response. Perhaps I'm being unreasonable, but my question is a simple one and it is very frustrating to establish communication with somebody at Silver Airways.

THE WORST. I purchased a ticket for my teenage son to fly home fr om college the day before Thanksgiving. OK, that is a really busy travel day and you expect things to go wrong, but his experience was unbelievable. He showed up for his flight 3 hours early, which was initially showing an ontime departure. Then his flight suddenly posted a 4 hour delay, he went up to the gate agent who helpfully offered to move him to another flight, which was scheduled for 5 hours before his original flight but was also delayed 5 hours, so it would take off at the original time. Great deal, huh? Too bad they then cancelled the flight they moved him to about 10 min. later, with no explanation. Just "go to the ticket counter to get rebooked." So everyone on that flight then had to head outside security back to the ticket counter wh ere there was a long line. And guess what? Silver had in the meantime given away his original seat on the later flight, so he was stranded. They offered to rebook him to fly home on Thanksgiving day, but he refused to fly them ever again. I can't say I blame him either.

WORST "SERVICE" EVER. Hiring an attorney, filing a formal complaint with the FAA and contacting the FBI to investigate conspiracy to defraud. You get the point. They made our flight vanish ( "you missed the flight") although, we were an hour early and 20 minutes at the gate before the flight. Gate agent concealed her ID badge and the other flight flew without a boarding manifest ... and so how exactly would they know who was on board if the flight went down? RUN!!

Departing 11/10/14 from Clarksburg, WV on 10:38 am flight to DC. Jimmy greeted me informed me I should drive because this was not United and my luggage probably wouldn't get there since rural airports are not a priority. I was told every 60 minutes my flight was delayed another 60 minutes. I rescheduled my connecting flight to Norfolk VA three times for a delayed time of 5 1:2 hours. The communication was terrible and rearranging connecting flight was non existent at the airport. Straight up on me to fend for myself. I fly over 12 times per month and thought I would try a local airport. Big mistake. Silver definitely is not united or like any other airline I've been on. Simply terrible. I understand delays but misleading your customer or not even being present throughout delay is unacceptable. If I ran my business like this it would go in the ground!

Negative reviews are correct ... expect flight delays (unavailable flight staffing, weather excuses on postcard days, lack of oxygen to their brains, etc.). Dullas International Airport, Washington D.C. has this airline stashed away in terminal Z. Staff come in and out of doots into the waiting area aimlessly, using personal phones, sitting among passengers hanging out, lounging around, and having parking lot conversations. I'ld recommend getting a rental car a driving to those smaller remote destinations. Oh me Oh my! Can I get a witness?

Just so you know-Silver Airways is one of the highest paying jobs as a regional airline, and the ONLY regional airline that offers $12,000 bonus to all new pilots. Proceed with caution if you book with Silver air. May seem like a good value for a convenient flight, but beware. Both flights we took were late. One flight was delayed 6 hours. Whenever we inquired about the status of the flight, we could not get a straight answer. Not sure if the people at the desk were being deceitful or if they didn't know what was going on either. Not a well run airline at all!

I spoke with CHAZ too after my flight was changed in mid-air from Macon to Atlanta. I missed a big meeting. CHAZ refused to refund me money or forward me to a supervisor. I did get a. $300.00 voucher from a terminal manager, but I would rather have to refund. They suck! My flight was from Orlando to Macon on 31 July 2014. Silver Airways Sucks! Jennifer R : We booked flights months ago on Silver Airways from Tallahassee to San Jose, Costa Rica. It is June 24th at 9 am and we get an email that our flight on June 26th has been cancelled. We have had to book new flights thru American Airlines and are paying an additional $500. When I spoke to Chaz with guest relations at Silver his only response was we refunded your money and you should have bought trip insurance. This is not how you do business. I travelled on June 12 to Kew West fro Tampa with a stopover in Ft Lauderdale. There was no functioning air conditioning and we left the plane soaked. The staff said that they knew it was broken when they left the last stop (Tallahassee?) but did not take the time to repair. I assumed they would have it repaired at Ft Lauderdale since this is their home base or at least get a another fully functioning plane. I was bounced around and got a glare from the captain when I told them that I did not want to get back on that awful plane, and that they should let everyone waiting in Ft Lauderdale know that the plane had no functioning air. They referred me to the gate agent who was surly, would not answer my request for her to call her manager or maintenance. She said she was alone and would not call anyone. She also refused t give me her name. I waited until almost everyone else was on board. She initially refused to let me get on the plane and said the crew did not want me on there because I was complaining. I was on my way to see my new grandson, so spoke with a very nice man at the gate who escorted me on the plane. The same surly gate agent was also trying to keep a very nice young man off the flight even though he had been waiting for some time. She said that she had called him and he did not respond. She seemed to be inordinately vindictive for no cause. She tried to tell him that there were no seats (there were several). He was veteran who had just returned from Iraq and was on his way to be best man at his best friends wedding. He had already missed the rehearsal dinner. After I once again spoke with the very nice man in the yellow vest and walkie- talkie, he boarded our veteran. I have been a frequent (almost weekly) business traveler for more than 20 years with more than a million and a half miles on Delta Airlines. I think Sliver airlines is a disgrace and possibly dangerous. They have no concept of customer service, and are willing to sacrifice their customers to try and make "on-time".. I spoke with an Admin at Silver who said she had take detailed notes and would have customer service contact me. Of course, despite 3 calls I still have not had a response. If they executives don't wake up, I don't see how this company can survive.

I have been flying United (for quite awhile) which is using Silver Airways as a commuter. I want to book a flight in November. My flight going up is great while my flight coming back only has a 47 minute layover and at this time of year anything can happen weather wise. I'm not sure why they can't provide a longer layover. The distance between the gates is way to long for a 47 minute layover when you take into account that the weather might play a big role in whether you will or will not make your flight. If I would miss my flight, yes they may put me on the next flight and I would have to fly all over the United States to get back home (I am trying to avoid this). This seems ridiculous to me. If I had another airline that could get me closer to my destination I would use that, but unfortunately this is the only one.

The Fort Lauderdale ticket agents are horrible. Need a lesson in customer relation or perhaps someone from the main office should go and listen to the way the counter supervisor ( i guess thats who she was) treats passengers heading to the Bahamas. I glad I got a agent without a attitude or chip on her shoulder and now which I had recorded the bow beating she gave the customer.

Beware of Silver Airways! During my week long stay in Key West Florida, I heard at least 5 or 6 complaints fr om guests at my resort, four couples did not receive baggage for the entire length of their stay and two who had cancelations of flights that were never contacted. When we arrived at the Key West airport, our flight to FLL was delayed due to mechanical problems and after three hours of waiting, the pilot of our delayed flight tells us "I don't know if the flight is canceled or not.We don't have the part needed to fix the plane and we have no idea wh ere we can get this part or how long it will take to arrive. I have nothing to report to you as I have now been instructed to fly to Orlando". An hour later, the desk agent, who was absolutely clueless and looked as if she had been out all night and came directly to work, tells us "Don't worry about connecting flights, United will take care of you in FLL". We finally board a flight to FLL and then a later flight to our final destination, Newark International Airport. When we arrive in EWR, we are told our baggage was left in FLL! I still don't have my baggage. As a world traveler, even to the remotest areas of the globe, I can sincerely say that I have never experienced such neglect topped off with an obvious lack of concern for the welfare and comfort of passengers. Don't ever fly Silver Airways and SHAME ON YOU United Airlines for being their parent company!

I called the agent, and they would not get us back to NY until 2 days later ?$%^&*(#@. We ended up renting a car, driving 9 hours back home. I flew Silver Airways on June 30th out of Key West on a flight that was supposed to connect to another flight in Fr Lauderdale. The flight was at first delayed about two hours and caused many of the passengers to miss their connecting flights. We had to stay overnight in Fort Lauderdale and book our own flights the next day to get us to our next destination. I had to get to work early the next day so this was bad news for me. The customer service has been horrible. The women working at the gate in Key West seemed to care very little about whether or not our flight made it on time. And they were not very helpful about telling us what our options were if the flight was delayed. After talking to customer service, I was told that they won't reimburse me for the hotel because the flight delay was due to extreme weather. I was about the believe that until I did a Google search of Silver Airways and found that they are just a poorly run airline that seems to consistently cancel or delay flights. And I would like to say that I would choose not to use them again except that United almost forces you to use them if you travel to a small city in Florida. Either way, I plan to do everything I can to avoid using them again unless I have extra time and money to spend on flight delays during my trip.

Guest : Just a reminder to remain fair to this airline, people will always complain about their BAD experience. People rarely take time to post about their good experience. This will make this airline or any company look bad. And that is the reason why companies should ALWAYS work hard to provide GOOD customer service. If they were doing their job well then people wouldn't have anything to complain about. If they don't like the complaints then they should fix the way they do business.

DO NOT FLY SILVER AIRWAYS! On July 20, 2014 I had a non stop 11:55am flight from Orlando to Pensacola. At 11:35am, when I should have been boarding, the flight was delayed. DELAYED due to their was "no aircraft"! New departure at 5:45pm! What! No one was aware of this until 30 minutes before departure!!! Some passengers took other flights and needed to get their luggage. The communication between the Silver airways representatives and ground crew was poor. Ground crew was disorganized and couldn't find several passengers luggage. What a mess and a * ! Spend your time and money wisely. DO NOT FLY SILVER AIRWAYS!!!!

Amanda : May 23, 2014. MCO-PNS 3:25 pm flight # 3988 NEVER AGAIN.... EVER... First and LAST experience with this sad little airline. Upon arriving at gate 36, it was noted that the flight was to leave 1 hour late. That being posted, I walked around the terminal, used the restroom and searched for magazines (still within earshot of my gate) as I was trying to pass the time since there was an unexpected delay. Once I came back to my gate, (well within boarding time for an hour delay) I was told they had already shut the doors for my flight. I was in both disbelief and shock, as the letterboard stated a 1 hour delay. I asked the girl if there was anything she could do, and she said no, as she smirked at me. My entire vacation (whopping 3 days) was now completely ruined and it had hit me that I wasted over $300 on an airline that had employees who found it funny when a passenger was in distress. The employee who was rude, unhelpful, and had a complete disregard for this situation was Ashley. What a putrid human being. I informed her someone who can help was needed, so she called Gill who, bless his heart, tried endlessly to assist me with no real success. Being both in Army Nat'l Guard, as well as a full-time teacher, it is necessary that I plan any R&R time with extreme percision as I get very little time off. Because of this airlines poor communications skills, and horrid customer service reps, I am truly amazed (as I manage to travel often) this airline remains in business... "full time teacher". Egad! Dangling modifiers, "percision" and "this airlines..." ,and this just in these last few lines.
