anyone else flying from gatwick airport 3rd August on flight P7411 to rhodes ? bloody worried about all these cancellations and delays

26th july LGW to HER P7485. Checking desk opened 1910 with 1 SPA check in person. 1930 another SPA person arrives. Very slow check in. Yep flight delayed to 2345. WARNING- if u have a slow check in think plane delayed. Looked up on gatwich arrives website to see that a SPA was due in at 2250. Ok this probably our flight out. SPA check in said nothing about any form of compensation for a 3 hour delay. Asked at the information desk and they told me the flight was actually rescheduled to 2345. Hence there is no delay = no compensation. At 2250 information boards changed to "wait update" then 20mins later Gate 37 CLOSED. You have never seen a plane load of passengers run to gate 37 so fast. ADVICE - expect to run for the plane and gate 37 is a long way away. When we got there we waited for another 20mins before we boarded. Once on board. No aircon and it was hot. Very hot. The air stewards seem to just accept this & seeing the passengers wave the emergency escape cards around as fans seemed to normal for them. Advice here is board LAST and u will not get so hot. I would say the crew were very professional, but they need to smile! Instructions for emergencies were clear and fully explained in english. Although much of the instructions from the cockpit to crew were not. We were give a free bacon panni. Which was awful and a choice of free drink. Cola, lemonda from a 2ltr bottle or orange juice poured from a 1 ltr carton into small plastic beakers. The plane was OLD. It was a boeing 737. Signed gly on plane. Leather seats that had seen better days. No cloth with airline moto on head rests. In fact there was nothing in or on the plane to show any kind of livery of any airline. We finally took off 0030. 4hours 20 mins late. The flight itself was without any problems and after 30mins after take off the temperature was comfortable. It was just a shame that we lost the first night of our holiday as we arrived in crete just after 6am. Still we were in time for breakfast.

I had the misfortune of travelling to Corfu with this company on 22 nd July and was delayed at Gatwick for 7.5 hrs overnight we were provided with no information food or drinks.The plane was old and there was no air conditioning untill it was in the air.I was seriously concerned for our safety.Thankfully they seemed to dispatch another airline to collect us on the 30th (not SPA). This was a truly dreadful experience compounded by the fact that Olympic took over 3 hrs to transfer us to Sidari which should have taken 45 mins.I am at this point compiling my information to gain compensation.I would pay twice the price to avoid this airline.

I sent them an email this morning saying I think there service so far has been absolutey disgraceful. After a few emails was told my tickets will be emailed to me tomorrow morning. They told me I will have to collect my tickets from the South Terminal Zone G on the day! Am now slightly concerned of what may happen here. I too have noticed that the the flight no has changed to a Livingston flight no. So looks like they are chartering flights from all over the place. Just hope everything is ok tomorrow!

We are flying with them next week through Cosmos, on our tickets it says the baggage allowance is only 15 kgs. I'm more concerned about their reliability and delays!. Martin Douch : We are flying to Malta on Saturday 3rd AUgust with Small Planet On the web site it says that we get 20kg per person free yet I have just been advised by Alpharooms that they want £219.00 extra for the cases can someone explain to me why. I did send an e mail to Small Planet but no response from them

Guest : Has anyone been able to get any compensation from Olympic/Small Planet. I have sent details of the Birmingham Skiathos fiasco to Olympic but up to now have not received any reply, I actually booked with Holiday Hypermarket who are helping me with my claim which was submitted on the 12th July 2013. Have you had any response yet as I am about to put in a claim to Olympic/Small Plant after my SPA flight from Crete to Gatwick which was delayed due to cancellation of the SPA plane, baggage not loaded onto the plane for 174 passengers and downgrading my flight seats without a refund or explanation?

On this flight but on the 10th. Still waiting for tickets from Olympic. Same feeling as u, really don't want to go. And also my sister is coming with my nephew, there first holiday in 7 years. Hi the inbound flight from Rhodes landed this evening at half seven almost on time. Menzies, ( departures ) have said there is a technical issue and any departure time is currently unknown. I know how you feel.. I left two 'Urgent' voicemails for Olympic 4 days before I was due to depart and received no call in return. I was only able to receive an update by contacting the holiday provider that I booked the Olympic package (to include Small Planet flights) with; contact Thomas Cook Sunmaster or whoever else it is that you initially booked the holiday with and THEY contact Olympic on your behalf regarding an update on flights. I would really do this before going to the airport or, if you get bumped off a flight like I did, you could end up spending over half a day in the airport. They will, and are legally obliged to, offer you an alternative flight or the option of refund if this happens to you, and you're entitled to compensation too in this situation as it is considered a 'cancellation'. However, some people likely will remain on the original flight (I think they overbook them). Additionally, there were no Small Planet flights listed to leave Birmingham tomorrow, as my itinerary said, either. This flight was only visible online TODAY. So, my flight to Zante, for instance is planned to leave as scheduled (if it is not delayed) but some of us have - 2 days prior - been bumped to an 11:25pm Thomas Cook flight, which means losing a day of our holiday. I shall pursue the compensation I am legally obliged to as this is considered a cancellation. Good luck! Anna

I've just checked our details on the Olympic site and our outgoing flight details for Friday morning have changed- same time but the flight is a different number......this could really be interesting if they are changing this stuff without informing people......what airline has the prefix JN?????? The Birmingham to Zante flight is obviously cancelled for some but not all people, though it DEFINITELY is cancelled for some as I was told the flight is downgraded to a smaller one and that I have to take the 11:35pm Thomas Cook flight instead of the 09:30 Small Planet flight I am scheduled to take, hence having a 13 rather than 14 day holiday. I found out because I don't have a ticket at this point and continued to contact my holiday company who contacted Olympic. I would contact the holiday company you booked with, not only the airport, if you do not have a ticket and have not heard anything.

Hey, we have just checked in for our flight today, and our flight number changed last second, instead of small planet they are using livingstone airlines instead. Our new number starts with JN. We were not informed of this change and I enquiries over and over today at the desk and she was in aware of any changes!! So don't worry it's all ok for u!! I'm In the same boat :-( so scared now :-( haven't heard anything but have just emailed Olympic demanding a phone call first thing in the morning. No ore holiday excitement here :-( really nervous now. Guest : Meant to be flying out to Rhodes tomorrow morning at 10.10am and just seen on the Gatwick departures websites that we need to "enquire airline". Looks like my fears are going to be realised. No UK telephone number so guess we have to turn up at the airport and get told the bad news. Has anyone on this flight heard anything.

According to the handling agent at Birmingham airport flight P7641 to zante is mot cancelled and due to leave as per planned A S : P7641 FLIGHT from Birmingham to Zante DOWNGRADED to a SMALLER FLIGHT = CANCELLED! Small Planet flight from Birmingham to Zante (flight P7641) at 09:30 on Thursday 1st August is apparently smaller than anticipated (usual rubbish seen on here) so we're shifted onto a Thomas Cook 23:25 flight, loosing a day in resort! I asked them to look into two other morning flights I had pre-researched given such an incident, though they were unavailable. Thus, I had no choice but to move to a later flight. Sunmaster - our tour operator - offered £25 per person, though I plan to pursue compensation through Olympic and my personal insurance given this is considered a cancellation and without the 14 days notice they are legally obliged to give. Davo and others - do you have any info about the best line on compensation (my own insurance/Olympic, etc)? Thanks, A

Eve:We were told to get to the airport early,at least 3 hours before flight to give us enough time to collect our tickets from ZONE G,we haven't been away in years and are not confident flyers nor do we know our way around the airport,and this will be our kids first time too,so am very nervous about the whole thing. Incidentally when I booked my extra leg room seats it was a 148 seat plane showing for the seat plan! See the link above re compensatin. I am also booked on this flight but have received no notification it has been cancelled. I have also booked extra leg room seats so will see what happens. Has the flight been cancelled or are they just re routing certain passengers to another flight? A S : P7641 FLIGHT from Birmingham to Zante DOWNGRADED to a SMALLER FLIGHT = CANCELLED! Small Planet flight from Birmingham to Zante (flight P7641) at 09:30 on Thursday 1st August is apparently smaller than anticipated (usual rubbish seen on here) so we're shifted onto a Thomas Cook 23:25 flight, loosing a day in resort! I asked them to look into two other morning flights I had pre-researched given such an incident, though they were unavailable. Thus, I had no choice but to move to a later flight. Sunmaster - our tour operator - offered £25 per person, though I plan to pursue compensation through Olympic and my personal insurance given this is considered a cancellation and without the 14 days notice they are legally obliged to give. Davo and others - do you have any info about the best line on compensation (my own insurance/Olympic, etc)? Thanks, A

Thanks re compensation link. I found out simply because I was doing THEIR job in being proactive about getting information to customers... I twice called Sunmaster who I booked the holiday with and they had Olympic on the other lane as I requested info on my tickets. I's advise that you call your company to save yourself a potentially gigantic delay in the airport (14 hours)! It is utterly shocking and immoral that people are not only poorly informed by their shoddy so-clef customer service, but hat we are losing days of our holiday that we have paid and planned for. I intend in taking this to the Media too and potentially Holiday Watchdog as I feel that strongly about them doing it to many people. Evidently not a mistake but planned corruption and misinformation being given to customers!

Hi,we are also due to go on this flight,have you had your tickets yet?we haven't and Loveholidays phoned today telling me to collect the tickets from the airport. I am flying on Sunday 04/08/ from Gatwick south flight number P7421 depart 9am to Zante .There is no record for this flight on the Gatwick departures on this day !
