Why is it that with all the delays that sunwing is having and with all days and hours lost on vacations , we have not heard or seen anything in the news. Does sunwing not read these reviews. Are there no repercussions for such poor services.

Terrible problems as well from Cancun yesterday. Flight delayed 10 hours which forced us all to sleep overnight in the Cancun airport. Airport was cold, cold. cold! Of course the $15 voucher supplied per person helped out a lot! Barely paid for a dinner. As well, our resort booking meant that they could bump us to another sister hotel. It was for 2 nights but all of our friends that flew the day before were at the other hotel. No Sunwing rep as he was late the first day and we wouldn't wait for him to show up. Hotel said it as Sunwing's fault and Sunwing said it was the hotels fault. What a sad but pitiful way to do business. No, I will never use that poor excuse for a vacation company again. We have used WestJet and Air Canada Vacations with great results.

I had paid for a DAYTIME flight with sunwing that was suppose to leave from Ottawa to Cayo Santa Maria this morning at 10:30am....but now it has been delayed to 9:05pm tonight! Won't get there before 1am and won't get to the hotel before 3am....this is really frustrating! And of course....the return flight stays the same so we end up loosing a day over there...

We are in Montego Bay, supposed to depart for Ottawa tonight at 9h55 on flight 741 but it was delayed to 2am then 4am and the rep indicated little confidence that it would go at all. No reason given. They did get us a room at our resort when I indicated that we had paid for a 5Star and would not be shipped to a lesser place for the night. The flight is supposed to leave at noon. Our 16 yr old was to arrive from her school trip 30 minutes apart from us but now had to arrange with other parents to take her to an empty house at 2am. Guest : Ingrid : Did not like the overnight flight from Winnipeg to Holguin as we had to check out of the hotel room at noon and the bus pick-up wasn't till midnight. To stay in the room for an additional 4 hours, we had to pay 5 pesos per hour! We have always flown with Sunwing and this is the first time we were disappointed! Should of paid the 5 pesos per hour then you would of still had a room, we flew canjet and out departure from Santa Clara was at 11:30pm extended room with others and were very very happy customers well worth the room extension.

Sunwing is an incredible disappointment, what a disgusting joke of an airline. The old saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't do justice considering the FACTS. I flew to Orlando on Feb 8th, 1 hour delay but great weather in Ottawa for flying. Flew back to Ottawa on Feb 15th on a flight that was scheduled to leave at 11:15 am but didn't leave until about 10:00 PM!! extremely poor communication out of Sunwing, I felt really bad for the parents with small children ( there were LOTS of them ). No weather issues for either flight just "technical" issues, I guess they had to go to Home Depot and get another case of duct tape and some bubble gum at the corner store. For our troubles? We got a $75 credit towards another flight, what a joke, I'll never fly on that crappy airline again. Speaking of crappy ......... That $75 credit I got was printed on a regular sized piece of paper so when I got home I ripped it in half and used it to wipe my * as I passed the " 3 cheese pizza rectangle slice" that I force fed myself at 33,000 feet. I flushed the toilet 3 times in honour of the 3 cheese pizza/cardboard slice plus I wanted to make sure that $75 credit headed completely to the sewer where it belonged.

2nd time with sunwing 1st time departure flight delayed more than 12 hours 2 nd time Flight 596 from Cancun Feb 15, 2014 delayed, then luggage for many didnt leave cancun. Sunwing has such poor customer service. Not hopeful we will get it back Won't fly Sunwing again

Stay away from this company if you do not want ruin your vacation !!! How your company ruined our vacation? Day 1 – Departure: Somebody called to us in the morning and tell that our departure delayed without explanation why. But honestly all people from same plane believe that Sunwing short of airplanes and there is “backorder” process to make people wait and make their vacation shorter and in this way get more profit. After waiting and not sleeping whole night finally we arrived (after 16 hours delay) in Cuba, and one day was ruined, because we want did not sleep, upset and tired! And NOBODY from Sunwing appears and apologize or anything else. About hotel I can complain of course about food which smells as ash, cold water in shower, lack of soap and shampoo, absence of safety devices on beach, noisy air conditioner and fridge but I will not. I even could forget about forget about delay with arrival if Sunwing tried to compensate this day on Cuba in some way. But after what happens in departure I will not forgive and forget until, at least: we’ll get full compensation and official apology. When we arrived in airport for departure we found that our airplane delayed for some like 2-3 hours. After waiting 3 hours we found that delay 5 hours, 6 hours, 7 hours… etc… All passengers of our airplane start looking for Sunwing representative, asking in “information” trying to call in Sunwing office etc… Finally around 11 pm !!! man appears and his first words was “ Shut up and listen me carefully… or I’m leaving now” It was not his words exactly but sound really close. He give us explanation that airplane delayed because of bad weather in Ottawa – one lady from our airplane called to her daughter right away and confirmed that weather EXCELLENT in Ottawa. It means that your representative INTENTIALLY LIED to us. I don’t know reason for this, but people when they will ready this on faceboodk and forums will find truth. He told us that because of long delayed we’ll be placed in hotels and it was in 11:30 pm. After that he left, and we been waiting another 4 hours in airport. Finally bus arrived at 2 am and we been in hotel at 4 am, and we should be in airport at 8 am !!! How do you’ll feel after 3 hours of sleep? When we arrived in Ottawa, we found that delay of airplane was of technical reason and instead of replacing airplane sunwing was waiting when airplane will be fixed. God Bless that airplane been fixed in 18 hours or we could stay in airport longer. When in first time I wrote to sunwing customer service – respond was completely out of scope of my request. I was patiently waiting of results but it is almoust month and nothing: Here is what I want now : ( at least but not less, anything less I’ll treat as humiliation ) 1) Full Compensation of our vacation ( 3 persons) 2) Official apology from Sunwing in written form ( letter, not e-mail ) 3) Explanation of reason of delay for departure.

Worst customer service ever. I would never ever book with them again . Me and wife booked a trip for vday. We drove through the storm from Ottawa to Montreal. Got to the check in desk am hour before our flight to panama. They took forever to deal with customers some lady was holding up the line for her husband who was parking the car still . By the time we got to the line it was 30 minutes before the flight . They don't let us board and lady tells us she called the captain and he's not willing to let us get on because he is ready to leave . How is the captain ready to leave 30min before the flight time ? They told us to check other airlines for flights to panama due to the storm every flight we could find to panama was cancelled . Sunwing next flight leaves next week Friday which is pathetic what happens to poor customers who could barely afford these tickets ? What happens to the money we paid for the flights and hotel ? Lady on the phone told once the hotel sees you are not there they declare a no show which basically cancels your hotel reservations and return flight . Once this is cancelled they should automatically give the remainder of my money back. Not fair at all. Sunwing airport reps had us running around Montreal airport all day sending us to random admin offices telling us to talk to people . Useless no wonder there are so many complains and articles about this exact issue .

We booked travel to Playa Del Carmen through agent Jan31-Feb7 Vancouver direct ride down uneventful (good) Sunwing Service at resort terrible (both reps did not care) it is "normal" to recieve a room that is not in the picture or be placed in a "sister"hotel. NOT FOR ME! I requested low floor (medical was given 3rd floor a mile away from elevators I paid for an "upgade" that was not available. Poor travel agent did her best to make sure month in adavance I was going to get everything I wanted. Unfourtunatly this did not happen thought I had healthy budget of 5K for 1 week with "upgrades in a the newer remodled hotel with premium drinks" NOT!!! We came home on the dirtiest plane with garbage in the back of seats with a fresh cabin crew and a toilet that would rival the slums (people were dissappointed) the flight attendants tried hard pilots good. I was so dissappointing withthe whole "Award winning" experience.I regret the whole experience it was a total * of money, Sold a 4 1/2 star awhich in reality was a barely a 3 (hotel didn't care either placed blame on sunwing and Travel agent) we have traveled with Signature/ Sunwing/ transdat and I filed a complaint (may not get anywhere) we will see. I will reserve total judgment till then.

My husband and me paid for extra weight for our baggage. When we were trying to fly home fr om Mexico, the Sunwing staff told us that there was nothing on file stating this. So my husband pulled up an email on his phone showing them the purchase and confirmation after much debate and arguing they final agreed to the extra weight but claimed we were still over. We knew we were not over or even close to being over but they said we had to pay as they would not give us our boarding passes until then. So we paid and as soon as we landed in Canada went right over to the Sunwing counter wh ere they weighed our baggage. We were well under our limit. We got a note confirming this and pictures on our phone of the weigh scale showing the weight. Do you think we can get a refund? Still waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

Punta Cana trip, originally had a 1030PM flight departure, somehow Sunwing thought was a good idea to change to 1015AM. Lost full day, which we paid for 7 days, got 6. Some people said, well if the plane wasn't full they fill it up, ok well why not bump the AM flight to PM? Everyone wins and most are happy. Theres a reason travel agents wont deal with sunwing, unless requested by the customer.

Sunwing Never again! I have 3 very young children and specifically asked that our accommodations remain together. Upon our late arrival they had us in separate rooms not near each other and would not accommodate our request to put us together. Beautiful resort but Sunwing is extremely poor to deal with. Complaints were given no consideration so Nothing can be expected to change. Additionally I specifically requested a resort where the water was clear for snorkling, Our resort beach was so cloudy that visibility was only 3 feet. Online Sunwing Sales are saying what they think you want to hear to make the sale. With so many opportunities over there its unfortunate to see such a large business doing this. Never again Sunwing! Locally established travel agents will offer reliably checked information at the same rates.

My wife and I have flown Sunwing about 20 times. We have always had good service and rarely delayed. If we were delayed it was normally due to weather which the airline has little or no control. We're very comfortable travelling with them and hope to get away to escape the cold soon.

Just got back from package from Toronto to Aruba with Sunwing. Great vacation!! A little delayed both ways but only because of de-icing in Toronto. Have flown with them a few times and never have had an problems with them. Will definitely fly with Sunwing again!

alberta hermit : after reading all the complaints on this forum i will now add one of mine. i will never fly with sunwing nor will i fly air Canada unless i have to. my main motivation for my comment is sunwing's extremely annoying retarded and overplayed radio commercial. it sounds like it's being sung by a bunch of lobotomized whining emasculated rejects from a Justin beiber concert. it is the loudest commercial on the radio and every stupid radio station plays it over and over again for 6 months straight like its the only commercial they have. i would rather listen to the sound gurgling chunky stomach contents spewing violently into a toilet from a person with the stomach flu rather than ever hear that repulsive sunwing radio add ever again. i would rather put my testicles in a vice than hear that again. SUNWING!!! I HOPE ALL YOUR PLANES CRASH AND YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Your a loser, you base your complaint on a radio commercial! I have an idea, change your radio channel!! This is forum is for people that actually fly with Sinwing!

The flight was great, the completely ripped us off on tours though, worst I have ever seen for a reputable company. And no responses when I tried to contact. They should stick to flights and leave the tours to others.

Anyone travelling in the future AVOID sunwing, 15 hour delay in regina airport,Flight was supposed to leave at 745 pm than delayed till 9pm than 11pm than 2 am than at 230 am they announce that it will be delayed until 10:30 am but be at airport at 7 am.And they stated they would pay for hotel rooms and taxi. Another hour wasted waiting in line to be told what hotel and waiting for taxi service,We get to the seven oaks as were directed, and the manager tells the crowd that sunwing has no account with there hotel.So we wait for taxi to go back to airport,It is now 4:30 in the morning .They offered another hotel but by the time we take taxis to and from hotel it would be close to 7am so we slept in the airport.10 am rolls along and we are told our flight is leaving on time but will have to go to toronto instead of a direct flight to varadero.I understand delays and weather conditions but this was over the top.And sending customers to a hotel they dont have an account with?This was my parents first time travelling.And it has left a very negative view of this airline.Spend the extra and fly with a more reputable company.Feel free to share this post!

Vacation booked, two weeks later departure and arrival times changed. Aircraft late to airport, then delayed departure. second stop delayed to "paperwork" and flight crew change. Return flight delayed due to "paperwork", first stop delayed departure due to flight crew change the issues with "paperwork". Attendants were good, representatives good, flight not a positive experience.

January 2014 Arrived home to Calgary from Varadero Cuba on Jan 25 and today, 6 days later, I finally receive my luggage. I have made numerous attempts to call Sunwing and left messages and to date no reply from them. Very poor customer service. By the way, 80 peoples luggage did not arrive in Calgary off that flight. Clearly, they did not load it!

I am janet, wants to say a big thank you thank you thank you to Dr THOMPSON spell for everything . To everyone who doesn’t believe in spell, I was one of those ones at first. I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to do this since I’ve tried others so-called spells casters and they did not work and was a * of my time and money. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS BUT THIS ONE IS CALLED FOR. I HAD A FLIGHT 412 TO PUERTO PLATA ON JAN 12TH, 5 HOURS DELAYED AND RETURNED JAN 20TH, 3 1/2 HOURS LATE AND THE LUGGAGE WAS DELAYED, DIDNT GET OUT OF THE AIRPORT UNTIL 7AM. I WAS TOLD THAT SUNWING IS ALWAYS DELAYED AND THE AIRPORT DOES NOT GIVE THEM PRIORITY, SO THEY WILL ALWAYS BE DELAYS I ALSO LEFT A GALAXY TABLET UNDER THE SEAT IN FRONT OF ME AND DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL I GOT HOME BUT CALLED RIGHT AWAY AND WAS TOLD TO EMAIL THE MISSING ITEM AND TO BE PATIENT. 8 DAYS LATER AND NO RESPONSE AFTER 2 EMAILS AND MANY PHONE CALLS, TO FIND OUT THAT THEY DON'T RESPOND UNLESS THEY FIND SOMETHING!!! IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER, THEY WOULD HAVE NEVER FOUND IT, IT HAD TO HAVE BEEN A WORKER THAT FOUND IT AND DECIDED TO KEEP IT!!!!!! SHITTY AIRLINE, I WILL NEVER TRAVEL WITH THEM AGAIN AND HOPE NOBODY ELSE DOES.

Before I went to Airport I checked my Sunwing flight on Internet & it supposed to on time. All other flights were on time. Sunwing did not warned people about delay and there was no reasons for a delay! Nothing more frustrating than delaying that arrival at the resort!!! I arrived to my resort at 3 am. instead of 7 pm. I missed dinner and show in the resort! It's my fifth time to Cuba by Sunwing, I was there in April, September & January 16. I am not going with Sunwing anymore & do not recommend Sunwing to anyone!!!

Just returned Jan 26/14 from Puerto Vallarta, flight WG594 was delayed 2 hrs. On board opted for the montreal smoke beef bun. Wrapping was stuck to bun it was slightly warm, couldn't eat all of it. At 4:45am I woke with bad stomach cramps etc! Did anyone else who had the bun experience this? The other option was a 3 cheese pizza.

It's amazing how many complaints Sunwing gets and there's zero response from their PR department. I too had a stop added to WG737 flight tonight. Flight attendants response ' we didn't have enough feul to fly the extra 313 Km's to Calgary'. Seems like a huge miscalculation that I have never experienced from any other airline. Obviously Sunwing has an alternate agenda and a reason for the stop. They might as well start advising people, so they can expect the delay. Thumbs down to Sunwing

Guest :Was this flight 338 from Saskatoon to santa clara cuba Sunwing was horrible. No customer service. No rep at the airport In Cuba. Flight was delayed 12 hours overnight in veradero. No water was offered, People asked but were denied. Treated like trash. Finally boarded flight after given runaround for 12 hrs . No food at airport as it was closed. Finally boarded, half hour before landing we were notified we would be landing in Windsor Instead of yyz. 4 hr bus ride to Toronto on top of it all! And elderly in wheelchair expected to board a coach bus! Good one sunwing!

This is what I have to say about Sunwings service. Also, i now understand why nobody goes to the Holiday Inn resort because of the food, service, and atmosphere. Usaully in the food you could always find at least one bug in the food which is very unappealing. We took several pics and here is just one of how the food is never covered and the bugs just feist in the food. The servers could care less when they saw a bug in the food and sometimes would just leave them in there. This is discusting and the standards for this resort are very low and should be a 2 star rating at best! It all started when the shuttle that picked us up from the holiday inn resort came late. When we arrived at the airport the lineup to check in at Sunwing was an hour long. This caused us to get seats at the very back of the plane, which were right beside the toilets. They could have given us aisle seats in the middle of the plane that were empty but they wanted $50 each and we simply didn’t think they were worth it. We were terribly mistaken because the smell of the bathrooms were unbearable and caused many people to become sick. Now the person in front of me kept vomiting everywhere and he was clearly still drunk because he was rolling around in the aisle and taking his shirt off. I ask several flight attendants to control him/do something. However, they were very rude and did nothing about the situation as if it happens all the time. Also, sitting at the very back means you cannot recline the seat back and when the person in front of me did this I had no room at all, so it was a struggle to get through this plane ride with a lot of turbulence endured as well. It was a very unprofessional atmosphere and I expected a much better experience from Sunwing then what I received. In past trips with you guys, I have been very satisfied with your service but, this time wasn’t splendid at all and I will be skeptical in flying with you guys in the future. I’m sorry about all this complaining but, I was very frustrated and couldn’t relax on this vacation.

Flew Sunwing fr om Punta Cana on Flight 449 on what was supposed to depart Jan 11, 2014. Flight was delayed until 3am Jan 12th. Upon arriving at the airport and waiting for the plane to arrive so we could board we are notified (3.5 hours after arriving at the ariport) that there a an additional delay. More delays came and resulted in us departing at 7am (8 hrs after arriving at the airport). No beverages can be brought through security and all concessions at the airport were closed. Upon boarding we were told to provide our email addresses to receive a travel voucher as compensation for the delays. No voucher has arrived, and when you contact Sunwing you are told your inquiry must be provided via email. They will not discuss it via phone. Email has been sent and still no response from Sunwing. Another follow up call and I was provided a scripted response that Sunwing is working diligently on this matter and that all inquiries must be provided via email and that the typical response time from Sunwing is 6-8 weeks. Really....6-8 weeks to respond to an email!!!! And to top it of, I should not have to inquire about a credit we were promissed. It should have just arrived. Our friends had a similar experience the next day and received their voucher at the airport and were no wh ere near delayed as much as we were. Very disappointed in Sunwing!!!!

I had a 2 wk vacation to Cuba booked with Sunwing. My luggage was lost on my return flight, which was direct. I filed a Property Irregularity Report immediately at the airport, the sunwing rep handed my a copy of the paper work and told me it would be 1-2 days until I heard anything. There was absolutely NO sense of urgency from her which worried me... I then asked what the protocol was and her answer was she would be sending out an e-mail to all stations and what for a reply. (It seemed odd she couldn't pick up the phone, rather than what on an e-mail). The form she gave me had 2 numbers on it to call should I want to check on the status of my lost baggage. The first number is not even in service, and the second number goes straight to voicemail. I left numerous voicemails and haven't had a single reply. I finally got through to a sales rep over the phone, who couldn't tell me the status of my baggage, but offered me the phone number and ext to try for lost baggage (Which I had been trying and went straight to voicemail) and told me it's a 30 days process. If they do not find my luggage by the 30 days I would then need to submit a claim via e-mail. 30 days is absolutely ridiculous, most of my personal belongings are in that luggage, some of which are priceless. I am starting a new job this month and am at a loss of so many personal belongings. I will need to now go out and buy new things, not knowing whether I will get mine returned or not. I am forced to spend money on items I already have, but since I don't know when/if they will be returned to me I have to go out and buy a second set. I am completely appalled at how the lost baggage situation had been handled, and would NEVER FLY WITH SUNWING AGAIN for this sole reason.

We flew Sunwing from Sudbury via Ottawa on December 30th. Our first clue of bad things to come was when we landed in Ottawa to pick up passengers they opened the back door to load food in and kept it open for 30 min in minus 30 cold. Those of us at back of plane froze. Our return flight 363 on January 6th scheduled to depart at 330 pm did not leave till some 48hours late. Our ordeal was absolutely horrible. We were told of more delays after delay. We finally arrived at the airport at 230 in the morning on the 8th and after clearing customs and security pilot told us we were too late in getting there and crew was "dead head" which meant an additional 12 hour delay. No sunwing rep anywhere at resort or airport. When we finally boarded plane captain told us we would be arrested if any problems on plane and then we were told plane had no food. They served us a sandwich from Cuba airport and a juice. Planes are outdated crampy and flight crew not friendly. We are done with resorts and will go back to condo rentals which is top notch. Sitting in a hot seriously overcrowded airport in Cuba with no way out and with an airlone that didnt care about our long delay certainly opened our eyes about traveling. Trying to get a hold of sunwing is almost impossible. I should have read these reviews prior to booking cause we will never fly sunwing again and would not recommend anyone to fly them.

My daughter just returned from Cancun from Winnipeg with this agency....it was supposed to be direct both ways. Turned into 12 hours, the plane landed in Cuba to pick up people and drop people off, so they passed Mexico to do this. Three other people all had the same seat booked....old planes, there was still ash trays in the washroom.....Good thing her boyfriend won this trip on a radio station, now they know and I know I would never book with them.

Hi Completely frustrated with Sunwing. Cancelled our vacation only 2 weeks after booking and they dinged us a $1000 cancellation fee. We now do not have the funds to take a vacation this year because of this! BEWARE DO NOT BOOK WITH SUNWING!
