If everything goes smoothly, Hong Kong airlines is no different than anybody else . But if there are any problems , the customer service is terrible. You must read the fine print regarding the terms because under no circumstance wil the airlines be flexible in the interest of customer satisfaction. Here are the facts as to why I will choose another airline in the future . 1.). The names of my two children were spelled wrong on tickets booked on line . I was charged 500 Hong Kong dollars to correct the names. I argued that the airlines made this mistake . I was told there would be an investigation with results in 2-3 days . It has now been over 2 months and after repeated emails , I have not received any results of that investigation . Customer Service keeps responding that they will get back to me soon . 2.). A recent 2.5 hour flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong was delayed 3.5 hours from 18:10 to 21:35. I was travelling alone with 2 baby boys . An email stated it was due to weather . I checked other airlines, there were no delays of this magnitude . I asked for other options due to the inconvenience of flying that late with babies . The answer was that no changes were possible unless the delay was more than 4 hours unless I wanted to pay 500 per ticket . They said this was their policy . I asked to speak with a supervisor . They said this was not possible . I asked to file a complaint. They put me on hold and consulted with a supervisor . I was then told I could not file a complaint . I use to fly Hong Kong airways ever two months with my two baby boys. I hoped for some attempts to get me on an earlier flight. Instead they kept referring to their policy. This not a customer friendly airline and I am certain the delay was not due to weather . They lie and customer service is useless. Avoid this airline I suggest

The staff are nice and the seats have good recline, but the staff are inefficient (but apologise when I complain about them).
