Biman Bangladesh Airlines is just a horrible airline with corrupted ground staffs. I was travelling to Singapore on Oct 5, 2013 fr om Dhaka International Airport. My flight was at 8:35AM (BG84) and I reached the boarding gate 16 at 7:30AM for security screening. I was carrying SG$90, 100 Euro and around 10,000 Bangladeshi Taka (equivalent to USD290). As there was no notice in the airport about how much money I can carry out fr om Bangladesh and usually you need to declare if you carry more than USD5000 in any airport, I felt I am way below the legal limit. However, after security screening, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines staff came to me and told me secretly that I am carrying more than legal limit of 2000 Bangladeshi Taka and this money will be confiscated. His suspicious way of talking to me made me cautious. So, I loudly asked whether the legal lim it is USD5000 or Bangladeshi Taka 2000. Then he nervously replied that either USD5000 or Bangladeshi Taka 2000 can be exported out from Bangladesh. I immediately realized that he is trying to cheat me cause USD 5000 is not equivalent to Bangladeshi Taka 2000. Moreover, even if I have more than legal lim it, there is no reason to confiscate that by the Biman Bangladesh Airlines staffs. I also noticed that other Biman Bangladesh Airlines staffs are just watching this cheating attempt, but not saying anything against it. Therefore, I realized that all of them are involved in this cheating attempt. So, to reach Police as quickly as possible, I avoided arguing with that staff and try to come out by saying that I will buy US dollar. Then again he nervously stopped me and allowed me to board the plan with my Bangladeshi Taka 10, 000.
