Please stop the "off the street" baggage handlers that want to carry your baggage

while travelling with my family or 2 teens, VERY bad expérience..
Overwhelmed by non polite so called "porters"... Especially if you have to reach the hotels shuttles parking... The parking is behind the "intercontinental hotel". Be prepared for the experience

This airport is really bad. Security is strict for no apparent reason and the guards are tremendously rude and are never polite towards tourists, or users of the airport. The officers there have a serious issue and the airport should seriously change these staff. At Incheon International airport, officers are polite and are reasonable. O'hare is also reasonable but OR tambo is really bad. When a officer stopped me and forced ME to open ALL my luggages-they didn't even help open or close. After that mess, another officer stops me literally 10 seconds later and repeats the same. I hope they change the staffs

Transmitted this airport in December and again in January 2013. Horrid experience, both times. Upon arrival we had to go through customs and were treated dismissively by the customs officer who yelled running commentary at two separate incidents which were unfolding in two areas of the hall we were in. He barely looked at us. Then we were given a departure gate number which did not correspond with an announcement for OUR flight. The announcement was then reneged on with yet another announcement for a new gate. We decided to board at that gate and it turned out to be the right choice. We were also hustled for money while looking for the departure - the area cheeky hustler demanded notes and didn't want coins! Needless to say we did not oblige. At the departure gates a staff member overseeing passengers' moving through the gate took umbrage to an older lady who wheeled her luggage into the gated area by yelling loudly at her to take her trolley out immediately. 'Trolleys are not allowed and if I catch the next one!'
Upon returning home via JHB airport again, yet another attempt was made to hustle us. Signage is poor and finding your way in this large airport is laborious but I would advise you not asking staff in red t-shirts with a rendezvous badge, they too will hustle you for money without really listening to your full question before taking off to 'direct' you. If your ticket says Terminal A, then that's right in all likelihood.
I will pay more for my ticket, travel a bit longer, but will avoid touching down at JHB in the future.
