Worst custimer service in the history of commerce!!! Just spent almost three hours trying to change a flight, only to be passed from one incompetent person to another.....giving the a rating of 1 out of 5 is actually suggesting that they're 20% efficient, they need a negative rating
ALERT ALERT ALERT. There is a serious problem with Tam Airlines from Rio to Buenos Aires. I took a flight on Jsn 19th. My buggage did not arrive for 3 days. When it did all my electronic items and jewelry had been stolen. Apparantly there is a systemic problem with lost baggage and stolen items. I called their number 0810 9999 526 50 times. Unbelievably that number tells you that don't have direct contact with the people who handle the luggage. They promise to send you an email or call you back which they don't. I have the worst time ever worst experience ever...I flew to Brazil from LAX on Friday Dec 12, 2014 for the first time with Tam , I thought I would give it a try because I always travel AA and you are connected but it turned out to be a huge mistake. I travelled with my child who is 10 years old, Vida Anderson. The flights were Lan Airlines 601 connecting to Jorge Chavez Int. Airport , we were suppost to stay in the plane, but we had to leave the plane and wait for more than 16 hours at the airport, then we went to Beritez International Airport of course we all lost our connection to Brazil, we had to wait another 10 hours to arrive in Sao Paulo I was not suppost to stop in Sao Paulo I was suppost to go to Rio de Janeiro, then my all suit cases did not arrive, I had to complain for it ,and took me hours, when finally I finished I was trying to go to Rio de Janeiro but they didn't have any more flights to leave that night, I could not believe 1 am I have to go outside the airport and wait for 25 mins for a shuttle with my 10 years old daughter, it was so scare, and the hotel it was knid of far from the airport , the next morning finally I arrive in Rio, with no suit cases , We were suppost to arrive on Saturday and we arrive Sunday so exhausted , tired, losing 2 days of my vacation. I am appreciate it if the president of your company would recognize their mistake and give us a voucher to travel again and have a good experience at least .Patricia Anderson. The flight to GRU from FRA was good (meaning uneventful, which they all should be), with good service. But I am getting spoiled with the abundance of lie-flat seats, which this plane did not have. It would be nice in the future, though ...
I flew fr om NY to Sao Paulo. When I arrived my bike (as accompanied luggage) was missing. Tam assured me it would be delivered the next day. It has been 3 days and still no word fr om Tam as to the wh ereabouts of my luggage. My bike is in the luggage - and more I paid an extra $150.00. I can't reach the TAM offices in Sao Paulo -- the phone are busy 24 hours a day! I am a frequently flyer of Tam and this is what I get for "fidelity?" Furthermore, I have taken two days off from work. Friends are planning to visit Brazil and I recommended TAM. Guess they should look for another airline wh ere customers are treated with respect.
This is the worst airline in the world - I am waiting 4 days for my bags to show up in Mendoza. There is no customer service and zero initiative to locate and transfer my bags. Will never fly these idiots again!
I bought a ticket fr om Lima, Peru to Sao Paulo. Bought the ticket online 10 days before the flight. I checked that it was drawn from my account. Got the booking confirmed mail. When I come to the airport there is no ticket there. I explain and show the e-mail. They say that I got the booking confirmed, but thats not the same as getting a seat in the airplane. I asked how it could be. And they checked out the problem, and say: We have not recived the money for the ticket. I explain and show the the recipt of my account. Then they say, yes TAM has got the money, but not the TAM in Brasil, but the money has ended up in TAM, Miami. So then I thought, ok, now they have got their money, now I can get my ticket. BUT NO!!!. They was not gonna give me ticket until the money has recived Brasil. And I told them i just payed how the website told me to, and I cant now wh ere the money is going when i pay on their website. So that had to be their problem. So after argueeing for 8 hours I had to buy a new ticket. The first one was about 1000 rais, now I had to pay more then 3000 rais. After this I have called their service center several times, and they say they want to help, and if they can call me back. They have never called me back. and I have never seen any of the money. It is a real shame that this company is a member of the star alliance. I am norwegian. and I have only one thing to say, as long as you are a foreigner they will treat you as a peace of * .

I took at ticket to Salvador that I did cost an extremely high price ($600 although it's normally around $200), due to the oligopoly of Brazilian airlines company. Anyway, thanks to the traffic in Rio, I got 2 minutes late for the check-in without luggage. I've been told the check-in was closed and none bothered to try to find a solution. I went to TAM's office to take the next flight and they graciously offered to charge me $1250 to put me on the next flight.. None really bothered to really try to find a solution (including the manager). I decided to cancel my return ticket more than 48 hours before the flight, that was a separated ticket, and got offered 50% back. Useless to say that if you took your ticket through and agency, you can't cancel it alone.. Very convenient when you are in Brazil and your agency is thousands of kilometers away and on different time zone. I traveled in Europe, Northern and Central America, Asia, Middle-East and Africa, this is the WORST consumer experience I've ever had.
I made changes to my flight times and I was charged ridiculous amounts of money to do this. I was penalized $550.00 for this. When I called their so-called customer service, they would not reimburse me any portion of this obscene penalty. Also, on the flight I rang for the stewardess twice. Both times, it took 20 minutes for the stewardess to come.
