its a good air plane, on a par with ATR and dash 8..to bad it didnt certified with FAA so it kind of get a bad name.
I would fly with MA60 as it sound like a good airplane. All the crashes ware associated with the place it was operated from. Those in Philipine are because the airport it self was dangerous and hitting wild boar, I guess ATR would hit it too if it was operated there, as with merpati, it was determine that the pilot was at to blame as operating MA60 mix up with Fokker 100 operating manual. None of the crashes ware because the defect in the plane it self, unlike Q400 who have a fail landing gears. So it is kind of bias to blame one a good airplane just because it was made in China. Yes a good airline should put more concern about safety and not only focusing on profit alone, one of the safety that need to be dealt seriously was the pilot training and aircraft maintenance. As for MA60, it is a good value and reliable airplane as good as ATR or better safety design compare to Q400.
most of china product never border about quality.....why....please MA60 read and update all the comment and accident to improve this aircraft. why all of this happen...l really confident one day MA60..will success...
New Zealanders are advised NOT TO FLY THIS AIRPLANE if they want to LIVE. So you just go ahead and continue flying with it.
This airplane is a piece of junk. China does not know how to make a airplane. They are only good in copying some else design and fabrication. It seems that they cannot copy from Boeing or AirBus on the airplane design yet. It is a horrible incident.
As a passenger with my family on the flight that overshot the runway at Caticlan, I would never fly this type of plane ever again. Maybe, it was pilot error - who knows? Zest never contacted us afterwards to check on our well-being. Will never again fly MA-60.... will never again fly Zest.

Based on the facts above we can conclude that the Xian MA60 is , very reliable aircraft, re-engineerd by top chinese engineers, very comfortable, has met the regulations of CCAR Part 25 and FAR Part 25 and is certified by Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC). Go ahead fly with Xian MA 60. (I personally would NOT)
Judge a product by its quality and not by hate or bias, actually Avic Ma60 is an airwothy aircraft. The crash in Indonesia may be due to very bad weather and poor visibility. Nobody like accident, even Boeing and Airbus do have accident too.
In Indonesia, it has so many problem. The aircraft and the way of purchase it.
MA60 is a very reliability aircraft, its has meets the regulations of CCAR Part 25 and FAR Part 25 and is certified by Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC).
