natalie : i am currently dealing with a flight delay claim for sky wings and having issues getting a payment from them as compensaiton . does anyone know who the owner is/? There is no need to know who is the owner for the passenger in case of delays. The formal claim can be addressed and submitted on line to the air carrier in your country. The rest procedure, in case of non satisfaction of the claim by the air carrier, going via the government authority in your country or elsewhere.

Hi, long shot but do you have any flight numbers or info about this flight?? I was onthis flight & want to complain, but dont have ref numbers or anything.. Many thanks Hayley & Dan : Where do I start??? Arriving at Birmingham Airport on friday 15th July for our 1 week holiday in Corfu, we where met with the fact that our flight was possibly an hour to an hour and half delayed. This turned out to be a 3 hour delay. Instead of flying out at 22.35 we finally left @ 01.35. We boarded the plane and the staff where rude & unhelpful. The seats where broken and rocked backwards and forwards, there where no trays in the seats and sharp metal pieces left sticking out. Some of the seats had even been taped together! My mum said she would look out for delays on our return journey. Sitting at the hotel awaiting our coach transfer back to the airport on friday 23rd July I recieved a call fr om my mum advising the plane that was due to take us back fr om Corfu hadnt even landed @ birmingham airport and wasnt due in there until 01.30. After working out time differences we knew fr om there that the flight was going to be delayed by 3 hours +. Our coach arrived 40 minutes late & upon speaking to the Olympic rep, he said he knew nothing about delays. We arrived at Corfu airport and hour and half later, to be informed by the same rep (who apparently knew nothing) that our flight was delayed by 4 hours!!!! Not impressed!! We asked why the delay was so long and if they would provide us with food vouchers etc and the only reposnse anyone got was "Its nothing to do with Olympic, you'll have to check with skywings!!!" how are u meant to do this when the ppl dont even speak english?? We checked in our bags around 02.30 ( 2 hours before we where due to fly) and at 08.15 we wihere still sitting around the airport. We finally boarded the so called airplane at 08.40 again, staff fairly rude and knew nothing, dirty, no trays on seats, sharp peices sticking out, but been sooooo tired after been up 24 hours all I wanted to do was sleep. The Captain then come over the tannoy to announce that we wh ere having to fly from corfu to milan to refuel?? Apparently beacuse it was so hot in greece they couldnt fill the plane to full capacity?? What happens to flights that are taking off in the middle of the day in that case?? The words * & Sh*t spring to mind. We landed in Milan for a so called half an hour stop to refuel and we wh ere there for 2 hours!!! I could hear something mechanical going on, definatly not refuling!! We got offered 1 complimentary drink on the plane the whole way home, anything else we had to pay for. Im sorry but 1 small cup of pepsi doesnt cover the delays and treatment recieved from this company. I have never expirienced turbulance like I have on these flights, It felt like the plane was struggling to cope (which after reading the reviews on engineer faliure, now sends shivers through my spine!) The landings wh ere hoffic in both milan and birmingham, the pilot slammed the plane down and slammed the air flaps on that hard I had to brace myself on the chair in front! It was scary!! We finally landed back in Birmingham @ 12.00 lunch time, 6 & a half hours after we should of been back. To add insult to injury the steward said he hoped to see everyone again soon, you can imagine the response he got!! A word of warning to anyone who is considering either A) booking a holiday through Olympic who use skywings or B) using skywings as a flight only company.... DONT BOTHER!!! This is a mickey mouse company and it will wreck your holiday. SKYWINGS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN and big complaints are going to be made to everyone possible to try and make sure this is done!!

Many thanks QOUTE] Kirsty Saunders : After reading a lot of the complaints on this site I have found they are all from the same flight and holiday i was on! 15th July we were heading out to corfu for a holiday,and returning on 23rd july. i dont think i even NEED to file a complaint since everyone can read below to find they are all complaining about the same flight! it also disgusts me to find complaints about other flights, so it isnt like it was just a one off! i heard there were engine failures on the flight out after we had arrived home safely, i am shocked and scared to know that we were flying on such a death trap! how on earth the company still run i have no idea, delaying flights for that amount of time and claiming to 'stop in milan for refuelling due to heat in greece'... what a load of rubbish! stopping in italy for 2 hours to refuel was such an obvious lie! after a fantastic holiday, sky wings did its upmost best to ruin our journey home. never again will i book with sky wings OR olympic, since olympic were useless in helping with the matter. why pick us up from our hotels when knowing the flight was 4 hours delayed? why on EARTH let us fly with a bunch of non-english speaking, ignorant staff who don't care for our safety? with not even a free meal on board (after being kept up for 24 hours with no offer of free breakfast for the inconvenience...) i am VERY VERY DISGUSTED. i am not one to complain to companies as i know how hard it is to run a business and try to please everyone. but this airline is the definition of an utter joke. next time, i will fly with thomson or thomas cook without a doubt. hopefully it wont be long before sky wings is OUT OF THE SKY.

DELAYED 16 HOURS at Birmingham airport!!! We booked our holiday with Olympic Holidays through the Co-op. Got to the airport at 8.00pm, boarded our plane at 10.00pm, it started to take off, but the engine broke down, so they sent us back to the airport, after keeping us on the plane for 2 hours not telling us anything!! We had to wait in the airport till 1.00pm the next day until they fixed the engine. They did not provide a hotel for us to sleep in, there were lots of little children and families who had to spend the night at the airport. We finally boarded the plane at 2.00pm, arriving in Zante at 7pm. We MISSED A WHOLE DAY of our holiday, and they didn't give us a refund or any compensation despite being insured! It really was the worst journey I've ever had, and am never flying with SKYWINGS again!

Flew to Rhodes last August with Olympic, though we were flying with Monarch but when the tickets came the carrier was Skywings. We were supposed to fly out at 9pm but we were told there would be an hours delay. Finally flew out at 2.15 in the morning on the worst plane I have ever travelled on. Seat covers were ripped, chairs didn't recline and only a handful of seats had pull down tables. We were told that if we wanted a drink they would bring us a tray On the plus side the pilot was English, or rather Scottish and did inspire me w a bit of confidence. Flight was OK , but when we landed 5hrs late we were then left sitting on the coach for the best part of an hour with no explaination. no one even said sorry for the delay etc..nothing. It turned out that the rep from our coach had been searching for a lost passenger from an entirely different coach , nothing to do with her, and thought it was Ok to leave a coachful of * passengers sitting in the heat while she did so. Rude and unprofessional. Once we got to the resort, holiday was wonderful, accommodation was OK and Rhodes is beautiful. Pity that the awful customer service and the badly sub-standard plane mean that we can never book a holiday with Olympic again

THIS AIRLINE STILL HASNT PAID ANY OF THE BRITISH PILOTS AND CABIN CREW AT BHX LAST SUMMER THE CREW HAVE BEEN PHONING UP FOR 6 MONTHS .THEY ARE OWNED BY UKRANIANS WHO BASICALLY GO FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY LEAVING THEIR BILLS BEHIND.cROWN PLAZA HOTEL OWED IN EXCESS OF £50000 FOR HOUSING THEIR CREW ALL SUMMER AT BHX.HOPEFULLY THEY WILL NEVER OPERATE FROM THE UK AGAIN .

This airline has recruited pilots and cabin crew for the summer season 2011 and not paid them. 4 months on they still havent received their wages some are owed 14000 euros.The chief pilot for some reason passes himself off as Greek when he is fr om Iraq,they owe £64000 to the hotel they used in BHX in UK ,it is supposed to be a Greek airline but is actually from the Ukraine wh ere safety is of a very low standard .The aircraft was grounded twice by the CAA in UK twice in 2012.

No one should fly with Skywings! And no one should work for them!! I hae worked for them for 4 months now and been paid for 2 but it has cost me more than a fortune in accomodation and expenses. I hope that the CAA bans them for life but they are Greek and no one here gives a * or cares less.

OMG the crew havent been paid?? no wonder i didnt get my 20p change off one of them on my flight back from Corfu, when she said she will come back with it. Jokes aside a company shouldnt treat there staff like that, its disrepectful, insulting and a perfect example of bad management, i will never fly with them again after the flight i had.

my boyfriend and I worked at airport for summer that airline hadnt paid its fuel bill engineers or anything I really feel for the crew of that airline working on that pile of * then not getting paid.

None of the Pilots or crew have been paid or the last 2 months!!! Many of them have had to pay for their own accomodation and transport for 8 weeks. No chance of getting anything back so the CP has no chance either!

this airline is an absolute joke!! 15 hour delay from Larnaca to Birmingham, Olympic give you no information at all and had to find out for myself from Birmingham Airport website! having just read below the reason for the delay is a disgrace. the actual plane was awful,tatty and trays being held up with gaffer tape. the staff werent exactly friendly either, no inflight entertainment, lesson learned though i will never book through Olympic again and make sure i ask what airline i will be flying with in future.

I have seen this mess before.Should have flown from Cardiff 3 hours later we were bussed to Bristol on the return we flew to Birmingham and then in a rickety old mini bus taken to Cardiff.We booked this holiday with Kosmar within weeks they went bust as did Grecian before them.My advice is stay clear of Olympic holidays cheap is not always good.Olympic are quite happy to sit back doing and saying nothing while skywings take all the flak.

Quite staggered what this airline has got up to in the last two days at BHX. The A320 operated in late from JSI/SKG last night and they took the opportunity to cancel the outbound Corfu (it might have had a low load or empty) with the inbound operating to Gatwick in the early hours (airline not known) and the passengers were coached to BHX. Was the A320 tech - oh no it departed in the early hours on the delayed Friday morning Viking Hellas service to Heraklion and came back over 24 hours late this morning to operate the usual Saturday BHX-LCA (although a couple of hours late). However rather than returning to BHX the aircraft did the delayed Friday Viking Hellas service LCA-BFS-LCA and should be sitting on the BFS tarmac now as I type, 24 hours late. Obviously decided to make a few quid subbing for Viking or some might say doing a favour for Olympic Holidays - whatever quite a carry on. LCA-BHX due 20.00 tonight is now 10am tomorrow! They even had a spare aircraft in BHX on Friday (MD83) but that went to Manchester to operate a delayed Small Planet flight to Corfu and again the return rather than go to its intended destination came back into BHX in the earlier hours and I assume the passengers were coached. The MD83 sat in BHX all day today but has operated tonight's roads less than an hour late. You are wrong and didn't get off lightly This is what happened Your flight arrived in Larnaca ON TIME However a fly Hellas flight to Belfast was delayed because of the grounding of the fly Hellas airline due to unpaid bills Here is the scandalous bit The sky wings plane (your plane) departed Larnaca with the Belfast passengers So they had covered the flight for Fly Hellas and left their own passengers due to go to Birmingham stranded They would have made extra cash for helping out on the Belfast flight You then had to wait for the plane to get to Belfast and return to Larnaca This imo is outrageous However around that time they cancelled a Corfu flight and the return fr om Corfu was diverted into Gatwick wh ere passengers were bussed to Birminham The reason you ask? Well it did a delayed flight from there for someone else So sorry to tell you this but you didn't get off lightly as Sky Wings A320 only flies out of Birminham and you should have been flown home as scheduled but for some crazy reason someone elses delayed passengers were put before you

Sky Wings: 15 hour delay from Larnaca to Birmingham 25th Sept 2011, but we got off lightly. We were delayed as a knock on effect from a 24hr delay of the Belfast flight coming to Larnaca. Olympic Holidays: Our rep was fab, we had a room to stay in and our all inclusive extended at our hotel, again we got off lightly. Other people with Olympic were given NOTHING, no hotel room to stay in between checkout at 12noon and transfer pick up at 2am, no food or drinks, no money/vouchers not even a bottle of water. Once we got to the airport and our original 12hr delay turned into a 15hr delay we were given a 3.50voucher...wouldn't even get us a sandwich. No info AT ALL on the screens for the 5hrs we were there. We only found out what time the plane was due in when I checked on the website. I booked this holiday through Thomas Cook as they are a well established company and they wouldn't contract anything out to sub standard operators. I was going to write a very good review for Olympic Holidays as our rep Karen was very good from start to finish, even through the delays. But after hearing other peoples experiences I have realised we were just lucky having Karen as our rep!! So...Even if booking with a big company think twice if you hear anything about Olympic or Sky Wings.

your daughter and her friend have had a lucky escape pay a bit extra and book with a decent company im sorry they missed out on there holiday but im sure they will find something and as a parent i would be glad that they wernt able to fly with skywings it would have been a long week for you worrying about them flying with these cowboys

Just to add to my last review that Olympic Holidays use these botched and skarper sky wings company who also use " viking airways" which is just nearly as bad !PLEASE CHECK YOUR FLIGHT DETAILS 1ST BEFORE BOOKING ANY HOLIDAY AND ASK WHO THE AIRLINE IS because if they say " sky wings " or " viking airways " then run like hell or simply hang up because we have just had the worst nightmare flight you could ever imagine with sky wings and the worst appalling service from Olympic Holidays .

I have just read some of the reviews placed on this forum. We have just endured a return flight from Zakythos to Birmingham GSW 4012. We had a two hour delay although not the fault of the airline(if thats really what they should be called). I was appalled by the state of the inside of the plane. The seats are loose, arms broken, infact the inside of the plane was filthy and are loose. What a joke to ask to return the seats to the upright position!I am no expert on planes but can truly say that this is the worst plane i have ever been on. After take off the co pilot appeared and started fiddling with switches( I assume)in the roof of the cabin. We endured turbulance three seatbelt lights worked! We lost all internal lighting as well still at least it took my mind off of the seats. BY the time we landed my wife was in tears Skywings NEVER AGAIN! Olympic Holidays NEVER AGAIN whilst they continue to use this horrendous company. Anyone booking in gets seat 20A the spring in the back sticks nicely into your back!

So true, i think they need to get a hobbie, i was on a skywings flight about 6 weeks ago and the plane was fine inside abit old but fine, no gaffer tape and everyone had tray tables.

I was on the skywings flight 2 weeks ago, the plane has no gaffer tape and all the tray tables are there, why are people still putting the inside of the plane down, i was not looking forward to fly with them cause of all the bad things everyone has been posted on here, but my flight was good, the plane was tidy the cabin crew was nice, dont know why people are still writing bad thinks on here who has been on there holidays, stop thinking of the past and start thinking of your next holiday, you are home safe!!

Then maybe you can tell me how did this plane get in such a shocking state.Gaffer tape trays missing broken seats if you leant forward lifted off the floor.It really was unbelievable you could not put the seats in an upright possition for take off or landing.The crew gave us the us the safety instructions what for I do not know.I have flown with Tom and TCX and as you rightly say some of their planes are as old if not older but everything is in a good state of repair.I would like to know who issues skywings safety ticket at a guess I would say Greece.We all know about Greek safety and joining the EU has not made one bit of difference.

A lot of people are saying the plane is really old It's 19 years old in fact and there are a lot of the big carriers TCX and Tom that have older planes Jet 2 have 757's that are 25 years old and have had loads of faults I am not sticking up for Sky Wings as I think after what I've read they are horrendous and certainly wouldnt fly with them But 19 years is not that old for an aircraft

Ii have heard that olympic may be changing from skywings to TOR AIR who are as bad as skywings i am still waiting for a reply from them its day 26 so i should only have 2 days to wait will let you no what they say i will never ever flhy with them or book with olympic

Yes olympic lie through their teeth and sorry to say skywings are every bit as bad as people are saying.I have booked holidays with olympic for years but never again. I am not a nervous flyer and I was scared.I booked my holiday to fly with Monarch and at the last minute this was changed to this shower of ***** Oh and dont bother to phone them they just act stupid and pretend they know nothing.

More lies from Olympic then i see!!!!. Informing me on email that all these reviews are exagerated, after i informed them that the reviews on this airline which they are using are horrendous. I fly with Skywings soon, so i might print these reviews off and hand them over to an Olympic rep (if i see one).

Don't know how this airline as a license to fly... It should be grounded.... Both I and my husband were travelling on GWS7011 to Cyprus on the 11th September, and what a horrifying experience it was... When checking in we were told we couldnt be seated together even though we arrived in good time (3hrs before), which is not what you want to hear when you 17 weeks pregnant, suffering with sickness.... Once we boarded the aircraft we were told we had to stop off in Greece to refuel due to the weight of the aircraft, which we had no notification of beforehand. This was a lousy excuse because there was obviously a problem with the plane.... Total delay time on this flight was in total 6hrs... Travelling back on GSW7012 on September 18th... Arrived at the airport and was not at all surprised we were delayed... After a 5hr delay at Paphos airport, we finally boarded the plane... Just as the plane was going to take on the run way, it did an emergency landing... We were told by the pilot the cockpit had received incorrect information by air traffic control, which they later announce there was a technical problem with the engine. All passengers had to vacate the aircraft and head back into the departures for further information, which took almost 4 hours to recieve... The plane never flew that evening and we were all put up in a hotel overnight... The following day alternative flights were arranged home... We did not fly back with Sky wings... Both my husband strongly recommend you avoid this airline at all costs...

Sky wings more like no wings! Even the pilot said the plane should be scrapped !!! Thought i was gonna die during the landing... Brilliant. My mate Titto also enjoyed sitting next to a window covered in vom after a big fat delay. I love sky wings.... Number one!!!!!!!!! I'm joking, I'm only joking! I hate these wings.

A horrific flight after a 14 hour delay! crew gave us no information and were very unhelpful....sleeping during flight and no seat belt checks or announcements before landing! A grubby interior and the worse landing ive ever experienced! advised to re-think if booking with this aircraft!

Ive heard TOR air are as bad as skywings i would check them out before flying with them,i dont think people mean to have a go at the pilot and his crew in the cockpit,he can only fly the aircraft that he is given,but the other staff i found to be very unhelpfull if you have had a long delay and are not even offered a drink or a sandwich unless you want to be ripped off (which is the least they could offer) i can understand peoples attitude .I will only fly with a major company in the future

Was delayed 17 hours going to cyprus! Then 3 hours coming back! Not happy at all with the airline and wont be travelling with them again. Crew were polite though.

Have a great time. I fly out on 1st October to Cyprus as well. It won't really bother me as we are on hols for 2 weeks and won't mind a small delay getting there. There's always the bar!!!!. Cheers all.

You will find that the flights are returning into BHX from 1st October with Tor Air (Flight prefix OAI) The Skywings contract seems to cease at the end of October

They are lookng for crew at the moment according to a notice on the wall of the terminal. All the crew that I have seen are very respectfull and don't deserve this kicking from passengers. It's not their fault that the aircraft is delayed. They deserve every penny dealing with the * on this forum!! Actually probably the poorest paid airline crew at Birmingham Airport! But there again who cares?? As long as the self loading freight get their lager and chips off a tray table! Please remember it's not the crew's fault!! I work on the ground at Birmingham and the cockpit crew are always a pleasure to deal with!

Just to say dont quote me on this but it wont be a dc-10 as they are used for long haul flight more than a 2 hrs to 4 hr flight. it will probs be a 757,A321 or a 737. Ive read so many crazy reviews on sky wings and they are delayed alot out of Birmingham but they have only got one plane which is based at Birmingham and it never stops(except for the tech probs but by the state of the delays im sure they have no engineer based at Birmingham and ive seen sky wings a few times in the flybe hanger.

At last a reply from Olympic on the cheapest paper and massed produced format that you have ever seen,but guess what i have to wait another 28 days for them to reply again im not holding my breath.Olympic must work on the same system that Skywings use,NEVER AGAIN WILL I HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES.I sent one to the CEO as well as the customer services guess what no reply says it all

just a bit of information for you guys all talking about sky wings Sky Wings sub chartered a number of aircraft due to technical problems with their Airbus A320 SX-BTP - BHX based Air Finland Boeing 757 OH-AFJ operated a couple of flights before positioning out to fly for Icelandair . Air VIA Airbus A320 LZ-MDC operated the Sky Wings flight from/to Kos on Thursday 18 August 2011 while White Airbus A320 CS-TQS on its first visit to BHX positioned in from Lisbon in the early hours of Friday 19 August 2011 to operate their flight to Zakynthos . Due to operational issues Airbus A320 CS-TQS positioned back to Lisbon without operating the planned flight and was replaced by Privilege Style Boeing 757 EC-HDS which arrived from Madrid at lunchtime on Friday 19 August 2011 .

The fact that the aircraft has to stop halfway through a journey isnt a major alone but faced with departure times that are altered so that you are spending two more hours crammed in a airport that is busy relative to its size and then faced with below par conditions within the plane itself (while the comment about the plane snapping apart is a bit of an overstatement i admit, them seats definatly wernt far off snapping in two), the fact that your delayed further by 30-60 mins suddenly becomes a pain, regardless of the reason they stopped. To the fellow who reckons im stupid and a complete mong (your certainly more clever than your fellow passengers, throwing insults like that), you do make a good point that the engines may be different (I did just get back home when writing that last comment so I forgot to consider a few things thanks to being both tired and still disgusted with the flight experience) but the argument still dosnt work as a defence for the airline, when I can avoid them in the future and choose an airline that uses aircraft that are capable of getting to the UK without the stop in the middle. No matter how you care to explain the occurances experienced with this airline, it dosnt change the fact that you can do better elsewhere.

Payment problem...........!!!!!!!!! Yea Fuel is cheaper in Italy, it costs the airline an addition 2000 euros in landing fees to land in Milan so hardly a payment issue is it. Dont post comments on here when you clearly dont have a clue what you are talking about.

As my wife said below we flew from Corfu in June we flew direct to Birmingham no fuel stops , I suspect its a payment problem why other airports are used to refuel. Our flight out was the quickest I have been on to Corfu, 2 hours 40 mins, our 15th time there so this does not suggest an under powered aircraft. Maybe its the weight of all the new tray tables that we didn`t have holding it back. JOKE. I know we were not delayed much coming back, 1 hour, but it was unusual plane landed early but we had to wait in lounge 1 hour longer than normal before boarding. I did not feel unsafe on the plane it made no more noises than normal. I can understand people who have had long delays complaining bitterly, maybe I will be one after returning from Zante in October. By the law of averages can anyone have 4 flights with Sky Wings and not experience a major delay? Another delay tonight Skiathos flight 5 hours late Corfu flight gone though, must be another plane involved again.

I have already put thois once, aircraft take off weight is partly based on the individual aircraft engine performance. This determines how much runway the aircraft would need to take off with a full load. This aircraft has maybe the same type as and size as many others but every aircraft has its own limits and this one would needs more runway than most. By only putting on 5000 litres of fuel instead of the 11000 required, it lightens the load greatly. The plane sometimes goes from Zante to Kef to refuel a 7 min flight !!! exactly hardly any nearer to to BHX , Kef runway is alot longer. Hope this explains it. The plane wont crash it just doesnt perform very well hence all the tech delays.

flew to corfu june with skywings inside plane poor service mish mash we never got our inflight meal on the way back my advice take sandwiches and drinks to eat at the airport buy water before boarding and you will be fine.Loo on the way out was unatached from the floor after a couple wines trying to balance added to the fun of it all ok on the way back.Maybe we were lucky no delay going just an hour returning.we didn,t have tray tables which was a bit of a nuisance but we coped.The plane is old and maybe needs to be retired but i never felt unsafe.My hubby and i are off to zante september again with olympic flying with skywings take my word for it if you get no delays and no turbulance you will be fine,lets face it you can get them on any flight.JUST HOPE SKYWINGS CAN COPE WITH TURBULANCE and we don.t crash into the sea!! cos i cor swim!!! JOKE have a super sunny holiday one and all.
