To put it simply ..... just avoid BA if at all possible! The trust Pilot reviews from 6771 people show that 79% of the reviews gave only one star, and there are no replies from British Airways anywhere to be seen, this tells you everything you need to know about the BA Customer Service or perhaps more to the point the lack of it!

Hi, I have an emergency and no one at BA over phone line can help me. I’m totally helpless in middle of nowhere in Spain without my suitcase. I checked in my bag using self check in BA on 2nd of August. The machine didn’t give me receipt. My luggage is lost. And i don’t have the tag number. I need your help finding the tag number for the luggage I checked in at Gatwick Airport. London- Malaga Flight number: BA2796 The luggage is outsourced to GGS company which works closely with BA handling luggages. It seems like they have access to tag number database and not BA which I don’t understand why. Would you please escalate this case and find out my lost suitcase tag number ? It’s linked to my boarding pass/ticket so it surely can be retrieved. Please help. I’m helpless and very stressed. Thank you 🙏

Shocking service from BA- i have been trying to call them for the last three weeks. I even sent a complaint, still waiting for a response from BA. I was aboard in a taxi, when a coach jumped the lights -sadly 3people died and I survived because of my seatbelt. I have internal injuries and a letter from my GP stating I should not fly because of my blood clot .I requested a refund today and they said - no, you can only have a voucher. I stressed to them i do not want go aboard again yet nothing- you can have a voucher- disgusting services will never fly with BA ever

Pat O’Brien : I have sent in a complaint to BA and it could take some while for answers according to websites, so I wish to pre warn elderly people who think they would be the right company to act as their travel agent, we booked holiday with them , Before we left we tried to speak to someone about our insecurities of their e mails on return flight forms etc, as they had a tick box to say we understood, but no tick box to say we had unsure items to ask questions in, we could not get in touch to speak to anyone, on our return at Airport we got there well ahead of time and could not find BA staff, we queued near front of line at checking desk, we were approached as with everyone in queue to show our contact details and test , I explained I had tried to complete this form and requested help. This member of staff was too busy, she said I must do this myself and if she had time she would come over to us ,, she said we must leave the queue stand several metres away. We are 70 (Oct) and 74 yrs old, left to try on my iPhone, (not used to typing on small keyboard); I was shaking so much as time was moving on, I broke down and cried, so much I could not speak, my husband looked for someone to help, an Airport worker came over, escorted me to an information desk, they tried on my phone for ages, to complete passenger information forms, she kept going back to BA desk who refused to come over, they never checked our immunisation to fly or look at our tickets, if they had done this they would have noticed our return to fly test was taken too early (we went to have this booked in and they did it there and then over three days early, the helper at the Airport noticed as our paperwork was completed by the help desk, the gate was closing, we were double vaccinated , the BA desk said we are closing the gate we will not take them, tell them to book another flight. By then then I could just about stand. In horror, Sirport staff said they had done all they could, they escorted us to book and pay for a second fit to fly test at £60, with a photocopy as I felt beyond using my phone to bring information up, they advised I call family, which I did, I could not speak, my husband who is not familiar with tech, asked our son to purchase tickets, he could not alter the passengers locator form, he had to purchase two more tests for day two testing at £75 each, plus flights with baggage, sit together costs, taxi altered from Heathrow to Gatwick, all in all a huge extra cost for five night break. BUT. Compare how we were treated by British Airways !!! We are older generation, not too savvy on technology, we were ordered from queue, so others could not witness our plight, if British Airways staff have no time for the elderly why are they taking bookings from them, ? Why not admit they can only deal with younger tech people? It has taken me days to calm. I have e mailed CEO of BA but I feel their response will be a long time coming. Please do not book your parents or advise them to book with British Airways. They left us so vulnerable.scared we would not get home, it took u TIL the next morning at 00.23 hrs to arrive home after most of day at Airport. absolutely agree that their cust care now is dire...I am 74 and was left in tears by them to pay another airline ˆ300 to get home..hateful company

Is anyone travelled recently through British Airways ? I am planning to travel from USA to INDIA via HEATHROW airport and come back in the same route. I am on USA Green card with Indian Passport. Do I need to take any visa (Transit visa or Direct Airside Transit visa (DATV) ) for my flight change in HEATHROW airport. I had chat with BA customer service twice. First chat they mentioned I should apply for DATV visa and second chat they said visa is not required. I am now in confused state what to do. Please suggest if you have any information on this or you know anyone who travelled recently or any news related to this. Thank you Very much for your time. Srini

Guest : Flying to St. Lucia with BA in March. Understand submitting Negative PCR test 5 days prior to travel to St. Lucia in order to obtain entry approval, however, appears that BA require negative PCR test 72 hours prior to flight as well. Does this mean that I have to get two PCR tests within 48 hours? Will be travelling to St. Lucia next weekend - is there anyone with an idea whether a PCR test ist necessary 48 hours or 72 hours in advance? Thanks!

Our friend who was staying with us in our house in Florida had his return flight cancelled due to the 5G rollout which affected the airline frequencies apparently.. We enquired about some sort of compensation as he was delayed for three days with no notice at all except a big red message on trying to check in. Their response to his complaint was that the delay was due to Covid. Clearly a total lie. Why do that?

I'm really hoping someone can help… After not being able to travel (Covid restrictions) I was issued with a ‘Future Travel’ voucher by BA. The voucher has a monetary value of £1370, 110 000 Avios and a companion voucher from use of my BA Amex. I have to call the Future Travel team to book (I can’t do it online despite me wanting to) but it’s IMPOSSIBLE to speak to them. When I call BA they say they’ll put me through to the team that can help. I then wait on the 'phone and, every single time, get cut off after an hour. I’ve now spent over 20 hours on the ‘phone trying to book with the voucher and I’m getting nowhere. When I speak to someone from BA they say they can’t help and put me though to someone who supposedly can.. but I get put through to the same place that cuts me off. I’ve contacted BA customer complaints online but keep getting a standard message telling me to keep trying. I’ve now threatened legal action (which I’m very much prepared to go through with) but that isn’t making a difference. It’s like banging my head against a brick wall and is driving me crazy! Any ideas?

Hi, I've got a return flight with BA from Orlando in August with my wife and 3 children. On the outbound flight (with american airlines), I've been able to select seats to assure the little ones are with one of us, with no cost. On the return BA flight, it's asking me to pay anything between $50 and $106 (£38 - £78) per seat to choose. This obviously pushes the total flight price up dramatically after the flight has already been booked and paid for, but I also don't want my children, who have never flown long haul, to potentially be spread around a plane and alone. Has anyone every experienced this issue, and will BA use some common sense and place families together on flights, or is this a way to rip you off into paying more money? Any help or advice to alleviate the anxiety on this would be great.

Some advice please!. On the British Airways Web Site I have booked a return flight from London Gatwick to Georgetown Guyana. There is no direct flight so there will be a connecting flight (wait 4 hours) in Barbados to Guyana . The first flight from London to Barbados will be operated by BA and the 2nd flight from Barbados to Guyana by Inter Caribbean Airways . Both of these airlines have an INTERLINE agreement with each other. My question is.. BA have told me by e mail that my checked luggage will be automatically transferred from the first BA flight to the 2nd connecting flight operated by Inter Caribbean in Barbados to Guyana. BUT Inter Caribbean have told me by e mail that even though there is an Interline agreement this does NOT include luggage transfer and I will have to recheck my luggage in Barbados! I am totally confused! Also I am going to pay for an extra checked bag to British Airways. Will that payment cover me when I recheck my extra bag in Barbados with Inter Caribbean OR will I have to pay again for the checked bag to Inter Caribbean?...will I have to pay 4 times for the extra bag on the 4 flights? My booking for the 4 flights has only one booking reference number on one return ticket issued by BA. many thanks for any advice. Reply
