PAL’s business processes, procedures, and IT systems (and probably also their IT security) is at best archaic, slow and extremely inefficient if not unproductive at times. Glad that there will be North America airlines stepping in soon with direct flights to the Philippines.

I booked my flight and My husband Sanlin Mercene online last 4th of May and cleared payment on the 7th of May 2024. Then I received my flight details and booking reference Number. But my husband did not received a complete booking details but instead in his email asked him to upgrade his booking which is very strange. Now I ring Philippine Airlines Office and told me that we have our departure date but different arrival date. Can you tell me why m it happened?

I have been in contact via email and chats no less than 26 times to receive this money which is around $2000 owing without success. The same had happened to me. They owe me a refund for a flight they cancelled since Jul 2023. Countless communications via email and phone to no avail. They always say it is being processed. I wonder if there are many ppl affected by this airline and we can file a class suit. Are you in the US? Your company has so cleverly organised the structure to delay and get out of refund payments in every way possible and it is very evident to me now THAT YOUR REAL INTENTION IS NOT TO PAY OUT THE MONEY OWEING TO ME AND FURTHER NOT TO HONOUR YOUR OBLIGATIONS UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF MY ORIGINAL FLIGHT TICKET... IE. refund permitted with penalty of $90.. Not sure why Philippine Airlines wont correct the desired date on my booking without $500 fee( 2x$250), May 8 to May 10 at least 5_10 minutes after i completed my booking not aware that the return date has changed. I only became aware after i reviewed PALs confirmation email. I thought theyll be more considerate since its just short amount of time.

Guest : I see all these complain about paying online with PAL not working. I tried today and the same problem. Looks like time to look at other airlines. Credit Card payment on the internet has not worked for at least five years. I have to go ticket office. then same credit card works. Just a third world airline sometimes. We will see how they run their airline when the new aiport open in five years in Manila and Delta is flying in from the west coast.

Please PAL install big clock every gate or even in the hallway. Coz if the traveller is coming from different country with different time zone can notice. Even the sound system is not so clear because of the echo.

Refund from PAL flight during pandemic until now isnt refunded yet. It's 2023 now. The physical ticket says the receipt is expiring Feb 2024. I think theyre just delaying so as not to give refunds.

Update from my previous post: Went to PAL ticket office at Davao Airport to get a refund for our delayed flights, but no compensation for missing our international flight or vacation. PAL Ticket Clerk heard my complaint and then she said "If you don't like PAL, please use a different airline". What a loser for Public Relations....

We booked flights from Davao to Manila to connect to our international flights. PAL said flight delay 2 hrs, but then delayed a further 2 hrs. No flight details showing on airport screens and I'm sure PAL flight was not full, so they just cancelled scheduled flights. We had to cancel our international flights, cancel our accommodation and cancel arrival pick up and rental car. All at great expense to me. So, so disappointed and upset with PAL - they are becoming a laughing stock and the public do not trust their schedule or lies.

My 3rd cancelled flight last 6 weeks, this time Sydney /Manila, my cancelled email came with an offer for 3 days later using my same booking, for sure there are some serious issues with some very unhappy passengers & just apologising doesn't cut it, extremely inconvenient with existing hotel bookings and so lost money

Our flight was cancelled few times going to Manila and coming back to US. Worse was cancelling it less than a day or so and because of that my son didn’t get a chance to go back to his old school, he was dropped from school and my husband almost lost his job because of that. He has to stopped working for more than 1 month since we came back coz he has to prove his company everything what happened. I’ve been emailing wecarepal since January asking for compensation for all the dilemma that they caused us. Gave them all the proof and some of the receipts that we spent during the times that we have to stay in Manila for few days. But all they can do is give us $100 voucher the 5 of us and can only spend it to PAL and non transferable and to be use within 2 years. As if I’m still flying PAL. Never again! I wish we can all have a group chat and maybe we can ask help from Raffy Tulfo in Action or maybe sue them.

Business Class lounge in Manila Terminal 1 is a joke. A small room with extremely limited food and beverage selections. Worst seats ever. Intent of lounge must be to make you want to leave. If so, they achieved their goal with me.

Has anyone have issue for a request to expedite process of travel credits. I have an important event , so i booked ticket bound for Cebu from Baguio . the Airline cancelled the flight so no choice but to convert it to travel credit . I told them i have to use the credit to book for another flight bound to cebu ... as days fast approaching ang havent rebooked my ticked for cebu, they told me to wait for the voucher..i explained that we needed the travel credit to be processed for us to use it.. they keep saying same phrase everytime i call. they keep directing my calls to other depts and i kept on waiting until the call itself drops..So i need to make another call again pls help if you know a way for me to connect to them asap

Philippines airlines is accustomed for delaying flights it's like a habit to them. I only went to Philippines 3x and flight got cancelled twice one even before pandemic bound to U.S and one this coming Friday. My parents flight was cancelled last week as well, moved to the next day and when they got to the airport another two hours delayed. I booked with them event though I'm completely aware paying ridiculous fare because its a direct flight and wanted to arrived ASAP but non of it make sense anymore . I would have booked our flight with different airline AND SAVED $1,500 FOR 3 PASSNGER and get to my destination on time without hassle.

These is a very terrible airlines. The staff are very rude to customers. I used to like these airline before as my support to a an airline carrier if the Philippines but my flight last month is the last. Staff will shout and embarass you in front of the people if you ask them some questions.

Here is my ongoing nightmare: My flight was cancelled due to covid march of 2020, I was issued a travel voucher for my ticket. In November of 2021 I renewed the travel voucher for another 12 months via phone call. I was supposed to renew my voucher on November 21, 2022, a week before my phone fell off the table and broke the screen, unfortunately I had nothing backed up, I had to order new screen from China, it arrives a month later install it and it's no good, I ended up taking a bus to Dipolog to get a used screen put in, I retrieved the informed and told the rep what happened, she stated it was no problem and would request a extension of 15 days, then nothing. I called again same story no reply, called again, they said it would be issued as a travel credit they would email me, nothing 4 more calls more lies, yesterday I was told the credit would be issued within 24 hrs, nothing. PAL HAS FAILED! I intend to get my money back or sue them at this point, either or I'm going to avoid using them in the future. Good luck everyone.

We call PAL every month to no avail. We've been calling them for the past 6 months trying to get a refund for ticket we cancelled due to their change of flight schedule. The ticket is 560 USD$. They said they finally processed the refund after 3 months but it was only 22 USD$ or the other Carrier Fees ?! They said was that it was lessened due to Penalties ?! But they cannot even give us the details of the refund or the penalties ?! Its such a scam!

I booked a flight somewhere in September Manila bound via Calgary international Airport. I got an email less than 2 weeks before my flight stating that I am only allowed 1 checked in luggage for free for flights booked from August 23, 2022 onwards as their policies for luggage have been changed. So meaning flights booked before the said date, meaning you can checked in 2 luggage for free in my understanding. So I paid $100 for my second luggage as I already bought my gifts months before my flight for December 15, 2022. To make the story short, me and my co-passengers were discussing about the fee coz they have to pay certain amounts for few luggages. I ask them when did you guys purchased those tickets? They replied somewhere in June 2022. So I told them you are still allowed for 2 checked in luggage for free as to what my understanding regarding the email I got. One FEMALE ground steward who's at the desk at that time interrupted me and was so RUDE to me saying that do you work for Philippine Airlines? I told her, Miss I got an email stating that effective August 23, 2022 only 1 checked In baggage for free and if you have another baggage to check in that will cost $100. Shout Out to Philippine Airlines to Monitor your customer Service agents Manners towards your PAYING CLIENTS. we bring profits to your company and we pay your ground crew's wages. We need a little respect from them and maybe you need to send them for further training for customer service. Not Looking forward for any bookings with you after my bad experience with your female ground steward agent. Hope thus address my concerns. Have a great day.

How was your issue resolved, Mr. Raul Delossantos? Cordialement Raul Delossantos : Here is my story: I bought a ticket on 7/26 from PAL a round trip ticket from LAS to MNL with a stopover in LAX. The flight is on Nov 20, 2022 and returning Feb 6, 2023. The LAS to LAX flight is with their alliance carrier American Airlines (AA). A few days ago while checking for seat assignment in the PAL website I noticed that AA cancelled the flight from LAS to LAX. I called PAL as instructed and they told me I need to call AA for rebooking (why they don't do automatic rebooking is beyond me and nor was I informed about the cancellation). Anyway I called AA to rebook the LAS-LAX flight but there is no available flight that can connect me on time for the LAX-MNL flight. They suggested that they also should rebook me for my LAX-MNL flight but with an 8 hour layover in LAX. I reluctantly said ok so that I can call PAL and have them rebook me for a shorter layover. However, when they did the rebooking they reissued another ticket under AA in which this is no longer a PAL issued ticket. When I called PAL they said this is now an AA ticket and they can no longer make any changes (at this time my head was already spinning). THey suggested that I call AA to have the ticket cancelled so they can rebook me. I called AA to have the ticket cancelled. THey cancelled the ticket BUT the cancellation did'nt reflect it in the PAL system. The PAL system is still showing that the LAX-MNL segment is still active and they cannot make any changes since it is now an AA issued ticket. So now, the two carriers are pointing their fingers at each other on who should fix the ticket. AA is saying they already cancelled and PAL should rebook me or refund me the money. While PAL is saying they can't do any rebooking and refunding because it is still an active AA issued ticket. Mind you, all these things happening is me calling them and spent two days talking to them. They don't coordinate each other. They want me to do the calling and coordination! and that's what I did. So now we are at a stalemate. AA said they can refund me the money but it is only the LAS-LAX segment and not the whole amount. PAL on one hand said it is POSSIBLE they will refund me the money depending on AA's cause of action! Also, if I want now to be rebook I need to pay the fare difference. I don't know now what is my course of action...I lodged a complaint with DOT Airline customer service but I dont know how soon or how can they help me. I'm thinking of lodging a small claims with the court but meanwhile I don't have any tickets and I don't want to buy another one.

I was thinking 'bout the same too. It's been over 2 years and I haven't got my refund. All they would say is they processed the refund. I even tried to go to the PAL Ticketing Office in Toronto and told me that only the Manila Office handles all the refunds. Guest : Has anyone here experienced their credit card not working after making a booking online? YES I have had my U. S. issued Citibank Matercard credit card declined multiple times when booking on the PAL website as well as through the android application. It even gets to the final 2-step authentication with my card issing bank Citi sending me a text code and the transactions still declines. Upon declining the system does give an option to choose another card type, including paypal which is linked to this same credit card and was able to process successfully. I've confirmed with Citibank that they are not declining the transactions and are unable to see any attempted authorizations or declines. The problem is definitely on PAL end and even after calling and booking with a PAL representative who then emails a payment link the credit card has still declined. I have spoken to numerous representatives about problem and have had them submit escalation tickets but up until now there has been no correction and is causing me a lot of troubles in my travels

I can’t believe they haven’t been caught for this scandalous way of business. I too, was just conned out of $2,400.00 for 3 tickets they happen to conveniently cancel, 2 days before our flight on a weekend. After reading some of the stories on here, I’m not too sure I’ll get my money back anytime soon. I am, however, very interested in joining anyone here willing to sue or or fight to get our money back! Is there a game plan the works yet?

Cristina : Yes, I am "patiently " waiting for my over due refund back in 2020 ! I emailed and called the company multiple times and all I received was the automatic reply and promises that they were doing their best to help thousands of people for refunds... Have the other people thought of boycotting PAL whether they have a good experience or not just to prove that we do not like what they do ? I have been waiting for a refund dating back to July 2020 aswell. It's for $6500 AUD - what an absolute joke. I was told it was fully refundable, however when are they going to give me the money I'm owed?????????? Very cross.

I am fully aware that prepaid meal is non-refundable. If you carefully analyze the computation, CAD250.00 and CAD188.00 will only amount to a total of CAD 438. BREAKDOWN: Paid Full amount CAD 4,587.48 Refund Fee CAD 438.00 Remaining Amt CAD 4,149.48 How come I've only received an amount of $3,676.89 instead of CAD 4,159.48? There's a difference of CAD 472.59, where is that amount? Is that the in-flight meal? If you can just confirm where the amount CAD 472.59 went as it wasn't mentioned in the subject fees. This was my query and PAL can’t provide me the breakdown. I felt I got scammed.

Here is my story: I bought a ticket on 7/26 from PAL a round trip ticket from LAS to MNL with a stopover in LAX. The flight is on Nov 20, 2022 and returning Feb 6, 2023. The LAS to LAX flight is with their alliance carrier American Airlines (AA). A few days ago while checking for seat assignment in the PAL website I noticed that AA cancelled the flight from LAS to LAX. I called PAL as instructed and they told me I need to call AA for rebooking (why they don't do automatic rebooking is beyond me and nor was I informed about the cancellation). Anyway I called AA to rebook the LAS-LAX flight but there is no available flight that can connect me on time for the LAX-MNL flight. They suggested that they also should rebook me for my LAX-MNL flight but with an 8 hour layover in LAX. I reluctantly said ok so that I can call PAL and have them rebook me for a shorter layover. However, when they did the rebooking they reissued another ticket under AA in which this is no longer a PAL issued ticket. When I called PAL they said this is now an AA ticket and they can no longer make any changes (at this time my head was already spinning). THey suggested that I call AA to have the ticket cancelled so they can rebook me. I called AA to have the ticket cancelled. THey cancelled the ticket BUT the cancellation did'nt reflect it in the PAL system. The PAL system is still showing that the LAX-MNL segment is still active and they cannot make any changes since it is now an AA issued ticket. So now, the two carriers are pointing their fingers at each other on who should fix the ticket. AA is saying they already cancelled and PAL should rebook me or refund me the money. While PAL is saying they can't do any rebooking and refunding because it is still an active AA issued ticket. Mind you, all these things happening is me calling them and spent two days talking to them. They don't coordinate each other. They want me to do the calling and coordination! and that's what I did. So now we are at a stalemate. AA said they can refund me the money but it is only the LAS-LAX segment and not the whole amount. I have been in discussion with PAL regarding our refund since January 2022. It has been more than 7 months since then. They said that it has been processed on 17th of June 2022 however it has been 2 months since and has not been refunded.

I am a very frequent flyer (normal year 50k -70k miles) and have used just about every airline in Asia. PAL has to be the worse airline that I have flown. Their business class is sub-par with their competition and their customer service is abysmal. On my last trip from SFO to MNL with my wife (Filipina but naturalized US citizen), their incompetency and uncaring attitude resulted in my wife being detained for 5 days in the airport (NAIA). Her passport fell out of her pocket while sleeping and was caught in the seat. Despite being told this, PAL did not do a thorough check for 5 days and two round trips back to the US. Needless to say, this caused my wife and I much anxiety, loss of vacation & costs and frustration. Not only did we not get so much as an apology but my wife was constantly insulted by PAL personnel for having a US passport. Of course, an “expedite payment” idea was floated around to us which itself b raises motivation questions. There are many details to this story too numerous for this post but bottom line, DO NOT TRUST YOUR SAFETY, PIECE of MIND or VACATION TO PAL! I know I never will again.

I am experiencing this issue too. I called PAL and they say that they are aware of this problem. You reported this 4 months ago and looks like they have not resolved it.

Last year it took me 4 months and too many phone calls and emails to get back $8,000.00 in refinds. Two weeks ago I submitted refund requests for 6 tickets I had to cancel, expecting another 3 month wait for the $13,000.00 they owe me. To my shock, I found all 6 tickets had been refunded to my credit card. Shock!!!! Don't know if they have improved the refund process or the fact that I paid the higher business flex fares resulted on this. Anyway, I am shocked but happy. Hope other people have the same luck.

Im in! They have not responded to my emails, messenger, or hub requests over the last 6 months to revert my voucher to a refund. Its cost me over $75 AUD in phone calls. I was promised an email to confirm my refund in January. They said it would take 12 weeks to process. I never received their email or a refund. I emailed again in March then again June trying to follow it up - no reply. The Australian office say they cant help me, I have to call Manilla. I called the Philippines again today and they had the cheek to say my voucher expired in June so now they wont give me my voucher or a refund. They wouldn't respond and I couldn't physically leave the country because the borders were shut. Its absolutely criminal. Now its not just about the money its the principal of the thing. i have same issue too! it's been 4 month converting my ticket to travel credit! no respone at all. it cost 33.000php. so pour service! they just kept tell you to wait. i also comment on their promotions on official Facebook, they kept saying will check but is all just a joke! i never experience other airlines like this service.

We kept on waiting and we talked to different CSR and ended up telling them the stories which means it is not documented and they don’t even give a reference no. By the time that we decided to just rebook it, they immediately said that it is already refunded in their system but they cannot give us DEFINITE information when and where is the money. These guys are just manipulating us mainly because in reality PAL will not give us the MONEY. They let us wait for that long until they filed BANKRUPTCY. They know that if we will file a case in the court it will take time and money. It is better that all of us should make a group and file a case against them.

Pal is a thief. I requested for a refund for Aed 5700 since it is already moret han the 3 billimg cycle which even took more than 5 mos and till date no refund or response received.Called also the call center however everytime I asked about the refund they will let you wait and cut the line. Very unprofessional and disappointing. They are thieves for our hard earned money.

Due to an error on their website, I was produced the wrong flights - too Melbourne from Manila instead of from Melbourne to Manila. I called them immediately and requested that I be booked on the correct route and they said they would refund me to enable me to do this. I checked the website again and it was $300AUD more expensive to book my route than initially. I already had a return flight for 3 weeks later back to Melbourne and there's no reason I'd book two flights with the same route 3 weeks apart. After multiple emails and calls, the refund team asked me to produce screenshots of my experience as evidence!!!! HOW do I get screenshots retrospectively!? I told them they should go back through their audit log to the time at which I made my purchase and they shouldn't be asking customers to troubleshoot on their own. Anyway, I've been chasing them for a month and they still haven't produced me with a refund. I intend on filing a formal complaint with the Ombudsman in Australia, aviation Australia and consumer affairs in my state. I suggest you all do the equivalent.
