I asked PAL today of the status of my refund and they said it was already refunded but I haven't received any! The last time check I got an email from them confirming the refund in my previous other refund request.

I requested for a refund and paid $100 cancellation fee on September 2020. I was told thay due to high volume of request it’ll take 5 months. I made a follow-up on February 2021 and was told they’ll refund it manually. I made a follow-up monthly since then and been receiving generic email. Do you know anyone who gets a refund?

I just heard from TV Patrol newscast that PAL is trying to file for Chap 11 bankruptcy in the US. The goal is to make the airline immune from US lawsuits. The nerve of this airline. So they don’t really have any intention to refund payments. Their execs also expect to get a government bail out since they are the “official” stupid airline carrier. I don’t know what else to do anymore seems calling them up would be a * of time. I can’t believe PAL will not even agree to use the money that was paid if a customer cannot wait for their refund but to rebook again since most of the US is successful with vaccine roll out and slowly getting back into pre pandemic normal as far as opening up and travel. PAL is such a jerk. They don’t want to refund BUT would want to take advantage of the travel bug which will equate to super expensive flights. int] Guest : From what I read online, many of these US law firms promise to get back the full amount for you, their fees will be calculated and taken from the airline itself. It has become pretty much commonplace with many American airlines being sued. The most important part is getting enough people to join, given our claim amount to be rather small on average we would need maybe closer to 100 people? Nonetheless, as long as someone is willing to start the ball rolling, approach any US law firm, they would gladly help as its a strong case for them to earn their fees easily. Guest : I would like to join this class action law suit if you know how to get this started. Im sure most US based law firms will not mind putting this together The problem about lawyering up is you might get a couple hundred back in settlement instead of getting the whole amount of what you paid in full five years ago. As a consumer we all have been very patient and diligent waiting for these refunds for 2020 flights which they themselves canceled. We all sympathized with them as no one wanted this pandemic to happen to begin with. What is so appalling of PAL is its not even being sorry and making their customers tanga and stupid waiting for these funds that they have no intention to return. Last June 2020, the PAL rep gave me a refund authorization # for the 11 tix I bought in 2019. Still NOTHING. No response to any of the emails whatsoever. Guest : There are many US law firms that are organising class action suits against errant airlines, if we can get just 1 of these law firms to organise a class action suit against Philippines Airline and start taking our details that would be great.

Cebu Pacific has refunded all the 11 domestic flights I booked in 2019 for my family’s trip to Palawan. It took over 18 months but each month they send this generic email re assuring and apologizing. They refunded every penny paid. That is called delicadeza and integrity. Unfortunately the main airline carrier of the Philippines has no delicadeza. They have resumed most international flights and for over two years they are still holding payments of mostly US customers without any updates, apologies whatsoever. Bahala kayo ma anxiety, ma heart attack kaka follow up. Never again. Use any other airline except that PAL epal.

I was told I would get my refund in 5 billing cycles after I get a refund reference number. I received the reference number a month after the refund was initiated, which was in September 2020. Many emails with the same computer generated responses. I talked to a live person and was told it is expedited and should hear something in 30 days, that was in February. Then again in March for another expedite for 30 days. Then in April and yes it will be expedited in another 30 days. we are going into June now and still the same old lip service.

I have the same situation as most people here. It's been already more than one year when I applied for refund. I kept sending emails to Philippine Airlines Refun International department to follow-up my refund request status and until now no response/update from their office.

Guest : It's been over a year that we have been waiting for a refund of 4 tickets. I booked my mother's ticket a few days before we booked ours and she received hers after a few months but we still haven't received ours. The bank has been trying to dispute it but no luck. I have emailed and called Philippine Airlines several times but all they say is that they will forward the information to the support desk. It was suppose to be our first time to fly with them from NY to Manila but what an experience it has been. We booked again for this year but we had to switch it to a travel voucher due to the imposed travel restrictions of the Philippines. Before we booked the ticket, I asked if we can just use the tickets from 2020 since we didn't get the money back but the representative said no since it was already being processed. Hopefully when we get a chance to use the travel voucher that they won't give us a hard time. If we still don't get the refund from 2020, I will contact Nina Pineda who works for ABC 7 and is a fellow Filipina, hoping she can help not just me but all of us.

Try filing for a FRAUD case with your credit card company tell them PAL forced you to get a voucher without you giving you a choice thats just what they wanted or assumed. They are giving the customers a very difficult time just assuming or forcing the passengers to resume travel plans. The tricky and deceitful part about that is they put expiration on those stupid vouchers when their stupid government cannot even contain and put their Covid situation in control. The problem is if you paid cash or credit card goodluck with that. [ QOUTE] Cams : Can I refund my travel voucher? Is it possible? Anyone who know the process?

Out of desperation, I tried emailing them but I wasn't expecting any reply because customer service in the Philippines sucks. Surprisingly, they reply to email complaints and they follow through! I got my refund from PAL after almost a month from my first email to CAB. Here's their email address: APBR@cab.gov.ph Its now two weeks since i emailed CAB and i am yet to receive a repl. I've been waiting for my ticket refund since last year, Now it's almost 10 months and I never heard from PAL but according to the press release update dated March 2021 PAL paid 90% of the tickets refund. worldwide. There is no e mail or call back from PAL. I send them 4 or 5 emails to asked for the status of my two ticket request refund but no response. I'm just hoping I will not wait another 10 months for them process it.

Ask your credit card company to dispute the charge. You are not liable to pay the disputed amount and its interest while they are investigating the fraud case. I got refunded this way but PAL had the nerve to charge fees on top of holding my payments for over 18 months. They have not refunded the 11 domestic tickets I purchased on their website in 2019. The same no emails nothing. Cebu pac refunded every cent though it took 18 months they send email updates and apologize every month so at least you know they are working on it. Nothing with pal epal. Guest : I have been waiting 9 months for my $2324 refund from PAL, I have gotten no emails, phone calls or nothing. To Whom it may Concern. I tried 15 months ago to get a refund for being told by your agent at the boarding counter at Tullarmarine Airport that for several reasons of policy I would not be accepted onto the flight already booked and paid for. I was sent home and after my attempt to gain a refund because my passenger seat was not used because of your refusal to let me fly, I see no reason as to why I have not received a refund. I attach to this message all supporting documentation. Yours faithfully A. B. Bruce.

Requested refund in May 2020 for cancelled flight. they said wait 3 months, then nothing. They said wait up to 5 months, nothing. In January I called again, so many reasons the promised 30 days. Never came. Sent an email to refund office, complaint to customer service, and complaint to department of transportation. Received response from "Wednesday Acevedo" who would "investigate" but she never followed up with me. DOT replied sadly saying could not assist me because flights were not in US, but forwarded my complaint to PAL customer service. Guess what? I got a reply from PAL and they copied the agent from DOT, same response from Wednesday Acevedo. I replied to her saying she had sent me the same generic response without ever following up with me, but she never replied again to me These people at PAL are fraud! They are doing whatever it takes to not refund people what is due to them. I hope someone takes up on a class kawsyit against these fraudulent bullies. Don't ever fly with thieving PAL!

That’s horrible. A refund for one- ONE ticket maybe they’ll thinking that should shut you up for now. I have 11 family member for domestic flights and three LAX- MNL- LAX. They only refunded the LA tickets but had the nerve to charge service fee $80 for each ticket $240 as “service “ ticketing fee for keeping my money for since Nov 2019. They did not refund the $60 seat upgrade fee. PAL still owes me over $3000. Needless to say I am not buying flights with this airline EVER and thats even if I dont get to visit my natural couuntry of citizenship in my life. Mga mandarambong!!! If only I booked one stupid ticket for what $600-700 I can just forgive and save my self the heart attack, stress and anxiety of dealing- begging with them..saksak nila sa baga nila. The thing is its around $5000 US. That is hard to come around these days esp for people who got furloughed and lost their jobs. I know another friend they are down $9000 and her co worker about $7000. Imagine this airline fully booked esp for Spring and Summer 2020 for an entire family of 5-10 people and paid them late 2019 with credit card. Ang kapal ng PAL talaga- the nerve of Lucio Tan and these executives. Im wondering if they are able to sleep at night. Karma is a * . They deserved to be sued. I do not know why the media is not covering this now their Covid case is back and going back up - these stupid airline will have another year of excuse after excuse why they are holding our money back. Ben : I bought tickets for my family (4 people) in December 2019 for getaway in Philippines in July 2020. PAL canceled the flight in June. I opted for a full refund at that time. I was told I would get it in 3 months. Then it was extended to 5 months. I’ve called PAL and emailed them many times but I keep getting the runaround that the delay is due to the pandemic. I even sought the help of the Civil Aeronautics Board as suggestion from a friend. Nothing helped. In February of this year I was refunded for only 1 ticket even though I provided information for all 4 passengers. I’m thinking maybe there is some legal issue and PAL had to refund something. Now I’m worried it may take a very long time, or maybe never will I get the other part of that refund. Will try calling my credit card company again.

My flight to Auckland was cancelled last year due to COVID. I requested refund and got an acknowledgement last June 2020. I waited for their indicated billing cycles but until now I haven't got the refund. I filed a complaint through CAB Philippines but nothing happened and I did countless follow ups via phone and email. I am still waiting for my refund and the elusive "refund certificate". Any suggestions?

Guest : Guest : Guest : Guest : Guest : Guest : Nash : I request my Refund 7 months ago. I keep calling PAL but i got the same answer.. Pkease anyone tell me how can i get my full refund from PAL.? If you have purchased using credit card then get the credit card bank to get your refund or chargeback. Use all the emails you have sent and the replies if any from PAL. I recently got my refund in this manner after waiting for 10.5 months. Was this using a credit card issued in the Philippines? Credit card issued in Malaysia. ok thanks. I used my Philippine credit card and it seems i cant get a refund. Best to write to the Credit card company rather than over the phone and make it official ( not sure if yours was merely over the phone). Even when I called they said it was too long ago (honestly passed a year after the tickets were purchased when I called ) but by chance after a period of 13 months I decided to chat with them online and that is when I was advised to put in the claim and they sent me the forms to do so. They too advised that since the service was not given by PAL then they should rightly return the money. Thus sent them everything and luckily within 2 months of it, I got my refund credited into my credit card account. Wish you all the best and don't give up, no doubt anger and irritation sets in but bear with it coz it's your money. Thanks i will keep trying! My sincere apologies to ALL. I have not received my refund yet. My monthly card statement showed credit to the amount of the refund but today the amount has been debited again. When I contacted the credit card, they told me that the airline proofed the purchase was genuine but this has nothing to do with the purchase but the cancellation of the flight. Really disheartened with this whole episode and also my useless advise to all. Real sorry. Looks like this is going to be a never ending irritating story. Thanks to PAL.

Thanks i will keep trying!

sounds like PAL is doing this to countless customers..they cancelled our flights in march2020..i have called Pal I have countless emails to Pal(save those) as well as calling the credit card company as well..all to no avail..you only have a 120 day window commencing from the day your flights were cancelled my next step is to the DOT(CANADA) and file a complaint with them..there is no way I an letting them keep our money..think about how many customers they have done this to..all interest free money..keep fighting for your money..its fraud by Pal..it even says on their website they will give full refunds..fight for your money

Finally I have received my FULL refund on the credit card after I initiated a chargeback with the credit card after reading all the advice in the forum. Thanks to all of you for the numerous advices. To the others hopefully you will get yours soon too. Wish ALL OF YOU THE BEST. My agony finally ended after nearly10.5 months.

You’ve been strung along NOT for 5 billing cycles. That seems to be their official script for US customers. Call your credit card company and they will help you. I just got three of my RT tix refunded only PAL had the nerve to take $80 off each ticket which Im still disputing. The 11 domestic flights I booked, going to Palawan from Manila , my credit card is still working to get my money back. Now that NCR is back on lockdowns these stupid airlines will never run out of excuses WHY they have not refunded their customers’s payments even from 2019. Funny how their tourism secretary was saying oh okay for those who are so bummed that your semana santa vacation got canceled, don’t worry the stupid airlines will rebook your flights free of charge or refund your money. Hah goodluck with that. Cha : PAL cancelled my flight last August 2020 and said the refund would take 5 billing cycles or 5 months. Until now almost 9months still they don’t return my money and the worse is they don’t even update you regarding it. I called them many times and spoke to different person they always give me false hope that it will be in my account in the next billing cycle.
