I am really worried now looking at these comments, on 29th May 2015 I boarded connecting flight from Copenhagen to Berlin and Berlin to frankfurt, they missed loading my luggage and haven't got back to me as yet after repeated emails...I am really worried now as I have my memories loaded in the luggage in the form of pictures cd etc..I will never get them back no matter how much compensation they may give.. I just need my badge back. .Please help me..
We had a very bad experience with Air Berlin bumping into a number of various serious issues on our way from Rome to New York (with a short stop in Dusseldorf): 1. Our flight got cancelled (we still don`t know the reason) and we were offered to come back one day earlier (!) even if our hotel in Rome wasn't` refundable. With Expedia help we managed to get tickets on a different flight just a few hours later than the original one that got cancelled. 2. When we arrived to the airport and spent about 1.5h in a chaotic line to get our boarding passes, we were told that we didn`t have tickets reserved for any flight! After 20 very stressful minutes of many phone calls tickets were mysteriously found and we`ve got our boarding passes. 3. Air Berlin Flight attendants are not just unfriendly but sometimes they are obviously rude. Flight attendant C. Wallenstein (flight AB7480, May 25th 2015) stepped on my foot twice (she lost her balance twice while I was standing behind her waiting for a chance to get to my sit when coming back from a restroom), didn`t apologize even once (a simple sorry would do!) but instead yelled at me (!) saying that she hates when people are touching her back (! - I was keeping a reasonable distance from her, about 3 steps, but she couldn't hold her balance on high heels and kept suddenly making those 3 steps back to avoid falling backwards which was quite unexplainable to me) and she needs space here to work! Very frustrating experience.
Last April 20th, 2015. I, Joseph de la Torre had ticket # 0012346251358 for flight 7001 to Dusseldorf. with a departure time of 4 p.m. I had a connection with Air Berlin 8712 to Rome, Italy. Due to technical malfunction of the aircraft in Miami the flight was interrupted for several hours. The passengers were all this time inside the plane until the captain announced we had to take our luggage and go back to the terminal. So we did. Several hours later Air Berlin informed the passengers to board the plane again with their carry on. To the stressing surprise that hours later we have to go back to the terminal because, according to the captain, there were computers "Issues". Air Berlin decided to sent passengers to hotels around Miami without any information as to when will the next flight will be. All this time we had no water or any thing to eat. Just the hotel. I arrived to my assigned hotel after 11:30 p.m. So I already lost a day on my 5 days stay in Rome. After American Airlines intervened, I was given an AA flight to London, via Chicago with Rome as my destination. What a trip !!!!!! Air Berlin counter at Miami International was a chaotic scene, no very good for reputation and publicity. I arrived to Rome more than a day and a half later than my Air Berlin scheduled flights. This delay cost me meals at Chicago and London Airport and above all, I had to pay for my first night hotel in Rome due their non refundable policy. I need to obtain from Air Berlin , statements verifying the cause and duration of this annoying interruption. I would like Air Berlin to pay for my first night hotel in Rome and provided me with AA miles or a voucher valid for a ticket to Europe I am an AA frequent flyer # 3a3p060. On March 20th, 2015. I had an Air Berlin ticket #0012346251358, flight 7001 from Miami International to Rome via Dussendolf. The boarding started around 3:15 p.m.. After several hours inside the plane we were informed by the captain that they were trying to fix a "leak". After two more hours we were instructed to disembark the aircraft with our carry on and wait inside the terminal. Neither water or any type of food or snacks were offered by Air Berlin employees. Early evening we were told to board the aircraft again with all our belongings, to the incredible surprise that we stayed inside the plane again for more than two hours. Finally the captain informed the passengers that now the aircraft was having computer "issues" and we have to sleep in Miami without any hint as to when the next plane will be ready for us to continue to Dussendolf. Early next morning I went to Air Berlin counter just to find chaos and indifference to all passengers from the day before. I lost a full day of my vacation and the first night oh hotel in Rome. The employees did not know when the next plane will be departing so I run to American Airlines that provided me with connections to Rome. I wrote to customer service to Air Berlin and never a reply answer. Thumbs down to Air Berlin !!!!!!!
Just checking this page after my laptop was stolen from a checked in bag 3 years ago with airberlin that of course i never got back and its no surprise the same problems are reported here on a near daily basis. real terrible poeple should spread the word about what a terrible load of uncaring and dishonest lot they are.

I booked fly from Milan to Vienna via air berlin for my sister in law. But they refused to print out ticket explained that payment did not get through and asked her for original of credit card (what is bullocks). She bought new one but after one hour they deducted money from my credit card and I could not get money back yet as they air berlin for original of credit card and ID to present at air berlin desk which they dont have in London and I have to go to Vienna. That is more worse airline then ryanair. I will not recomend this airline to any one.
Air Berlin lost my bag14 days ago in BCN in a connection flight from MIA to final destination DUS. I used to think that AB is a good airline and I even worked for them a couple of years ago. But they are extremely bad at customer service at the ground. It's impossible to reach someone via phone and they are not answering to the specific questions in the emails and worst of all they don't seem to care at all that a bag is important and don't put in any effort to find it. I am flying AB very often but if I don't get my bag back I will never fly it again.

My baggage has not been delivered by Air Berlin - I arrived in Berlin on 10th April 2015 and when I lodged a complaint for non receipt of my Baggage, I only received a very irresponsible careless reply from the airline staff. We came back from Cancun with a connection flight in Dusseldorf to Berlin on 31.3.2015. Only few passengers coming from Cancun as we got their luggade in Tegel. Since then we are waiting and waiting. We are sitting at home not to miss a call from the agent who is taking care of the lost and found luggage for Air Berlin. We called several times Air Berlin and got different phone numbers to call to ask about the luggage but all this numbers do not unswer. In practice there is possibilty to get any information about anything. The only advice from Air Berlin to us is wait and we are not responsible. We bought the ticket from Air Berlin and the luggage was delivered to Air Berlin. This is documented with the slips hanging on the lluggage. Air Berlin is responsible for it and should see to give the passengers at least a proper answer, and not pushing the responsibility to a sub company which probably is not able to take care of the losts luggages when bad weather or for some other reason luggade are not delivered on time.
Do not fly this airline! Inefficient, rude and officious. Bags came with us on the plane but were not unloaded that night and then were not delivered to our hotel as promised as of 4 days in. The plane was two hours late, then we had to wait for the luggage for an hour only to be told inefficiently and unapologetically that it was not coming off the plane and we would have to go to baggage services. In baggage services there was a schmozzle with no proper queueing that took another hour and thanks very much to the fat, bullying German bloke who accused me - a slight statured woman - loudly and unjustly of queue jumping and persuaded the idiot behind the counter not to serve me - you can always trust one * to take a bad situation and make it worse!. And thank you to the courteous man behind me who insisted that I was served. Hopefully there is sometimes a nice person who makes such situations a little better. Our hotel is doing its best but Air Berlin just do not answer the phone. This obviously long lasting mess of an airline cannot be good for the German economy - the CEO and upper management should be sacked and appoint some people to the staff who actually understand the concept of customer service!

I flew from Berlin to Miami and tried to purchase an upgrade for 650 euro. They clearly stated that I wouldn't be charged if I were unsuccessful. I was, I didn't get the upgrade. Yet I was still charged the upgrade fee. 2 months later and 3 filed complaints and no response. Spend the extra couple hundred euro and fly with a better airline. Just a joke
Air Berlin is an airline with no conscience and practices unethical behavior and should be banned from operating. I was scheduled to fly from New York to Frankfurt and without any reason, they moved the departure time 45 minutes early. When I tried to get on the flight, they told me that it was too late (though I had more than 1 hour before departure time) and wouldn't let me board the flight. I called a customer service line hoping for some answers and some help... after all who would want a customer to be stranded across the ocean with family waiting for them on the other side. Wrong, these cold-hearted b..... told me that there was nothing they could do...they couldn't reroute me and that I had to purchase a new ticket either with them or another airline... mind you the one way ticket was around $3000. Here I was stranded in the US with no telephone, no money and nowhere to go. Was it a high season? no, were there empty seats? yes, plenty. I would like to warn everyone.... don't expect any service or sympathy from these crooks.

It have been almost 2 weeks since I flew home to Sweden with AirBerlin from Italy and I am still waiting for my baggage. It is early to say it but my hope in their ability to find it has decrease since I arrived. The worse is that from the reply to my e-mails I think that it will be a fight to get any compensation from AirBelin.
This airline is pathetic. I will never travel Air Berlin again. I booked return flights from Barcelona-Tegal return to meet up with AirBerlin flight to Abu Dhabi and then their partner airline Virgin Australia. Three weeks before I was due to fly I received an email advising I would now need to fly via Vienna, and my flight would be leaving 3 hours earlier than planned. I dealt with this issue, and even though it was a nightmare long flight, I was happy to know that my return flight from Tegal-Barcelona would still be direct as I had not received any notification of a change. I was due to have an 8 hour stopover in Tegal, but luckily when I arrived I went to the Air berlin service desk to check which terminal I would be leaving from. I was only then informed that the flight I'd booked no longer existed and that I would have to fly via Vienna again, and that the flight would be leaving in 1.5 hours!! I asked the service desk to urgently locate my luggage, which had been checked through from Australia on the non existent flight and was assured they would follow it up. For extra measure when I collected my boarding pass from the check in counter I enquired again about my bag, gave them the baggage receipt details and was assured it would be ok. When I arrived in Barcelona there was no bag. I have now been waiting 3 days and have been advised that they haven't even been able to locate my bag. I can't get on to anyone by telephone, have sent emails and texts, and have had no response. I fear the longer it is missing the less likely it is to be returned to me. This bag has my entire summer wardrobe, very expensive bags, shoes, Christmas gifts, costume jewellry and other important personal items in it, worth around 8,000 euros to replace. I don't have travel insurance because I can't afford it, and certainly can't afford to replace everything in my bag. I cannot believe in this day and age a bag can just disappear off the radar for 3 days. I have travelled the world extensively over the past 30 years and have never had luggage lost for such a long period of time.
If you can't handle luggage transfer properly via short connections, then do NOT offer them. grrrrrr!!!

If you have made a written complaint to the airline within the time limitations of the montreal convention, you can not only claim back the cost of purchases you had to make while your luggage was delayed but as you were on honeymoon, you might also have a claim for damage to your honeymoon/holiday, check with the passenger help website www.montrealconvention.org, they will help you know your entitlements and their service is completely free of charge even if you receive reimbursement from the airline, they will not charge you anything.

Where do i claim a refund for my delayed baggage? We had a flight to Vienna this month and on arrival we found the our baggage where left behind. after 2 days without the baggage's we received them in out next destination after Vienna in Austria. in the meanwhile being without any closes we bought some stuff. For five months I tried to get in touch with Air Berlin to get my service and luggage card. they refused as I'm a senior citizen my knowledge of a computer is very limited. I telephoned fr om Ireland about ten times and sent about twenty emails I asked them not to steal about 2,000 miles and yes they did steal them-no problem they can steal. On the 21st October I arrived at Dusseldorf Airport to travel to Miami Florida I had to pay €165.00 for my extra suitcase and €200.00 for overweight I was never told by Air Berlin that the price went up from €70.00. I asked the nasty woman at the Dusseldorf airport if my new card was in the computer she said no. I then got on the plane cheap seats and no place to put my legs and food so bad I got sick I don't like Aldi's food. Many times I asked to speak to the CEO and a Manager. Don't know wh ere they are??? I spent a lot of money in Dusseldorf. I want my money back and If not I'm going to take you to court for the rest of my life?????? Bridget Manning
WARNUNG!!! HABEN SIE EIN BABY/ KLEINKIND? Dann auf keinen Fall AIR Berlin! Betreff: "Gate Check In" Kinderwagen+Sitz (Baby) aufgegeben, Aushändigung verweigert, verloren gegangen! beim Umsteigen in Wien wurde uns die Aushändigung des zuvor in Griechenland als Gate-Check-In aufgegebenen Kinderwagens, trotz mehrfacher Aufforderung, verweigert! Dies wurde mir vom Bodenpersonal VERWEIGERT mit der Erklärung das Air Berlin dies seit 6 Monaten eingestellt habe da es zu viel Aufwand wäre die Kinderwagen kurz von der Rollbahn zu holen. Bestätigt wurde das ganze dann von den 2 Flugbegleitern im Flugzeug! Auf meine Anfrage ob dann wenigstens sichergestellt ist dass der Kinderwagen zum Ankunftsflughafen weitergeleitet wird wurde dies bestätigt und ich abgewimmelt. Ende der Geschichte ist dann, dass ich die 3 Std. Aufenthalt in Wien gestresst und erschöpft mit 6 Monate altem Baby und schwerem Handgepäck auf dem Arm verbringen durfte. Nur um festzustellen dass am Ankunftsflughafen Hamburg mein Kinderwagen nicht dabei war, der wurde dafür in Wien gelassen! Ein Ersatz konnte man mir auch nicht zur Verfügung stellen da es hier keinen für Babys gab! Somit konnte mit dem Auto die Rückreise nicht antreten da wir keinen Kindersitz hatten!
I traveled From San Francisco to Naples Italy on Oct 11. I checked in my bags at SF. The flight from SF to Dusseldorf was operated by American Airline and from Dusseldorf to Naples by Air Berlin. I arrived to Naples but my two checked bags didn't. It has been impossible to get a hold anyone at Air Berlin. I have been able to talk to American airline representative, they say that when they handed the luggage to Air Berlin at Dusselorf and can't trace it after that. Naples airport tells me that the lugged are still at Dusseldorf and I need to find out from Air Berlin the details. Really Air Berlin, why is there no repressive to talk to? there is one number for lost/delayed bagged that either none picks up, or is busy or just drops before you even talk to someone. I have traveled a lot, with many different airlines, never in my life I have encountered so much problem just talking to someone! the only line that someone picks up is for selling a ticket which off course they tell you they can't help you with luggages. I called air berlin counter at both Dusseldorf and Naples airport, and still no help. Please please do let me know how I can track my luggages. This is my second day at Naples, and I have no cloths and non of my belonging. Thank you air Berlin for making this such a pleasant experience
Hi I travelled in AirBerlin from Stockholm to Bangalore and lost luggage and I found after 3 weeks of time.I have been told buy the basic neccessary things and get it reimbursed during that period.All my clothes and basic things got stuck for 3 weeks.I send the bills for reimbursement and its more than 2 months nothing has happened.Complaint number V1168100 (Airport complaint number ARNAB18654).Help needed to get back my money. Contact Premiumguest@airberlin.com Guest : Does anyone know where I go do make a delayed/lost baggage claim? Mine was lost for over a week but was returned to me after hours or relentless pestering at the airport. No-one has given me the link of where to make my reimbursement claim though :/
For delayed baggage claims please contact firstname.lastname@example.org 2 of our bags were delayed and one lost baggage. We received reimbursements against receipts for delayed baggage on writing to above email id. But no news yet on lost baggage n compensation. Can somebody help
My luggage was also lost when I was flying from Warsaw to Madrid via Berlin. I got it after 5 days. It was impossible to get any inforamtion from the AirBerlin. When I finnaly managed to talk to someone on the line after 10 min of waiting the man said he couldn't help me and shut the call. It was a complete disaster and luck of respect. Does anyone know if I can claim any compensation?? Or someone actually managed to get one?
