Almost a week has passed since arriving on the W3 101 flight from Lagos to London and still no luggage. No explanation for the 3 hour plus flight delay at Lagos. We went back to Heathrow for three consecutive days after the flight only to find Arik had not yet even transferred our luggage onto a flight to London - and had no intention of doing so anytime soon. No explanation as to why, what and when. It is embarrassing. Dealing with an airline capable of such disorder and 0 customer care after my family paid so much leaves a bitter taste to the otherwise pleasant journey. Will never be travelling with non BA or Virgin to Lagos again, the extra cash is worth sparing yourself the stress, believe me. Why can't Nigerians own up to their mistakes? Bad news is better than no news. Keeping customers in the * makes the situation far worse.

All these comments on Arik air, I think is born out of stupidity, malice and ignorance. A lack of appreciation of what other Nigerian are trying to do to help the citizens of this country. People tend to forget that Arik air come into been after so many lives including children were lost in our aviation industry with planes that were not air worthy to fly in other parts of the world used in Nigeria with government official collecting cuts here and there and approving air worthiness for planes that were condemned in other parts of the world. For the first time in more than 50yrs and in the whole of Africa, brand new planes with Arik air was launched in this country to give our people a sense of worth. It is a shame that with administration after administration in this our notorious and currupt country, we have seen the aviation industry struggling on it own with no govemement support . In one of the news papers report at a time Stella the aviation Minster in one of the privious administration was demanding a 5% share of Arik air earnings. With none of her investments in the airline. With this kind of corrupt country how can business strive. With corrupt government official what do you think is happening in the aviation industry? Let us all think.The president Buhari says he is fighting corruption and yet surrounding by the most corrupt people in his cabinet. BA comes to Nigeria from London then goes to Ghana to fuel up to London in a country that is suppose to be the 6th oil producing country in the world. Let us begin to ask the present aviation Minster what is he doing to help our indigenous airlines. We are the most populous African black nation on earth and yet have no air line to call our own. He has been talking of creating our own national carrier. Dose he have to destroy the ones that are flying in other to create one? Again old planes are approved to fly once more at the expense of greed and corrupt practice. When will we as a nation ever learn? Until disaster struck again !!!! Everyone is coming to this forum and making comment here and there about Arik air and inability to fly, Buhari declared recession in the county in September 2016. What do you all thinks it means? Recession only in Aso Rock? what is Buhari and his ministers doing to elivate the recession on our people? Nothing. I pray that we as a nation learn to put blames in the right places not hard working citizens and businesses. That are pleated with government incisiveness and corruption.

Our travel agent says they ran out of jet fuel. We initially flew from Port Harcourt to Lagos on 28th. They gave our flight seats of the morning to others. We only departed noon. Is Arik Air flying today 30th? From Joburg to Lagos? I was sent a mail on 28th that my flight has been canceled, and was advised to request a refund from the office I booked (Lagos), or reschedule in January!!! Please tell me, what will I be doing in joburg from 29th Dec till 2nd Jan? I don't live here, I just came for holidays and I don't know anyone. When I called and asked for accommodation I was told to visit the airport and talk to the station manager. Lo and behold there was no one at their office. How can ARIK Air be so insolent? How can they just get away with this

Can we look beyond ARIK and see the true picture here? The useless country we call home. Arik claims not have aviation fuel yet they remain the only flight leaving Nigeria that is being cancelled. In Joburg, they had to lodge the stranded passengers in hotels for days because the South African authorities will not allow them treat passengers like trash. But in Lagos, they have turned the airport into a refugee camp with no consideration for families with kids. At what point will our government begin hold people accountable and actually fight corruption? Arik is the only Nigerian airline on the international route and my husband flew from Joburg to Lagos on a seat without seat belt! Wow. 250 million strong and we still celebrate mediocrity. Its time to face the truth and help other countries build their economies by flying their airlines because our so called giant of Africa has suddenly become a lizard with no regard for its citizens and no will power to put structures in place to make things right. Good luck to all the genuine business people considering the possibilities of investing in Nigeria. Take a cue from Richard Bryston and Virgin Atlantic, run like hell and don't look back. You cannot beat them! You will be forced to become like them!

I have been at MMA since 7am hoping to catch my flight to London scheduled for 1245hrs. No Staff at the check in counter and any Arik staff you approach kind of deny knowing anything. This lack of addressing issue by Arik is disturbing. The worse part is that I travelled from outside Lagos. Is anyone with info of what's happening?

It's a shame that this airline has a very bad reputation. But, i think that Arik's management is not deliberately making attempt to improve on its customers experience. For example, if you look at Arik's delay data from September 10, 2016 to December 2016 on JFK to LOS, it has a 76% on time, which is 32 out of 42 flights were on time. 72% is a fair mark with a lot of room for improvements. But the challenge is that it appears Arik is not paying attention or actively engaging current and potential customers..

My account was debited for $1742.16 but arik air didn't send my reference number non proof of payment to me. I called the customer service after an hour, she promised that the E-ticket will be send to me within 24hours. Well, it's over 6hours now but still waiting for my ticket. This is my first time of booking with Arik Air and they messed up. I will wait for 24hours because my trip to Nigeria is 2days from now. Lets see the out come. Anyone in the forum with same experience? Call their nigerian of british office. the people who answer the us toll free lines are outsourced bloody indians reading info off a script. thy dont have current up to date info and cannot intercede in a discrepancy Infact, this is 48hours after, still not gottn my E-ticket. I called the customer services more than 6times yesterday, they said my payment was confirmed and my ticket will be issue immediately but no ticket up till now. I have just 24hours to departure. Does anyone know if Arik has flown any flights from Lagos to NY since the strike ended? I am scheduled to take this flight on Friday December 30th. I am concerned that the flight will not go off as scheduled. Any insight anyone can provide will be deeply appreciated. i have booked my ticket on the 15 of December 2016 i just got a call form them today 23 December informing me the flight has been cancelled and the can only reschedule me in the new year, mind you they cannot refund my money immediately but they can also refund me in the new year, can you believe they just cancelled my holiday just like that.

I boarded arik to Dakar from Lagos. I am now at Dakar airport stranded hopelessly waiting in hunger and starvation. To worsting's situation my arm card is not working. I will take legal action against them when I have opportunity to do so.

i booked a flight from new york to lagos with arik on the 25th of nvember through faregeek,com. I am so scared. my flight is on christmas eve to arrive christmas day at 540am. God pleae let arik have sense and take off on time and arrive safely on time in Jesus name.Im coming all the way from boston, arriving 5am and do not have time to wait till 5pm ike last saturdays flight i hear was delayed till. Had to pay 97,000 to move a flight I was 45 mins early for but the staffs would no longer attend to anyone. Flight experience crappy. Not worth it. Never again Stay as far away as possible from joining this airline. Contracts are not kept, Salaries are always behind. It looks good on paper, but it will be a backward career move and decision. Added with too much stress!!!! I am going to warn you do not do it!!!! cabin crew are currently owed about 10000$ and flight deck more

This airline should be ban from operating as they have no operational standards and poor service all the way through. I can only agree with the negetive reviews. Even if you book a flight, don't mean you will be able to get on that flight. No communication by the airline advising of cancelled and delayed flights, and you can clearly see that the staff don't care about the wellbeing of the passengers. The owner of this business is not skilled enough to operate an airline.

I travelled with Arik Air on the 9/11/16 to return on the 2/12/16. I Checked -In as normal. Arik Air delayed unnecessarily for 5hrs. Take off was 12:45hrs but Arik Air didn't take off until 17:30 hrs and landed at Heathrow Terminal 4 at 23:30 hrs, instead of 18:30 scheduled time on the ticket with unaccompanied luggages. I live in Bristol and have already booked my return Coach with National Express for 20:05hrs. Due to Arik poor service, I amended my ticket to 23:35 and I paid £15 despite the amendment I still missed the Coach I have to pay extra £50 to get on the 00:50hrs last Coach and arrived home at 03:30hrs of 3/12/16. Arik Air has caused me so much distresses both emotionally and financially and I need to be compensated. If I were to be late for Check -In, I would be Penalised to re-book my flight to London. What an experience and that was the first time I travelled Arik Air. Guest : Fumi : I stayed in the airport for over 12 hours in the checked in area today 12/8/16 for Arik flight to JFK. If you decide to book Arik in the end, please expect delays. The inflight entertainment system does not work so be prepared for a long 6 hour flight. Guest : I want to fly Arik air London to Lagos next week - I called the number on their website and was put through to a company who said they can give me a flight for £400 return, inc taxes, but that I need to pay them online via online banking - the company is called Exact travel and tours - anyone know anything about this?

i have used arik air several time to travel to lagos from london heathrow and everytime i used their planes, everytime i feel they are really a wings of nigeria. i do understand some issue with Arik Air but still i am satisfied according to the prices, on-board services and the food quality. while book through arik-air.co.uk i have got potential and professional services by my agent

My first time booking arik You people did not fly d plane frm abuja to lagos on the 24th of july at 8am due to fuel scarcity u had and u gave us an option to fill for a refund. I had to take an alternative route back to lag. Till now I haven't gotten my money back. This is not fair. You people have stopped giving me feedback on the process with my refund after telling me to expect it on the 22nd of August. I patiently waited for the 21st working days while calling in several times. Got mails that i should expect it on the 22nd of Aug! After then i never received any emails. Called the call centre and they gave me a number to call to follow up my refund. For weeks now the refund number has not picked my call. Wasted credit calling in the call centre and nothing since then and nothing till now. Don't u people have a heart? Even after i provided u with the details you needed. Still nothing. Refund me my money its not yours to keep!

I booked an online return tickets to Abuja from Lagos for 21st and 24th July. 2016. While we a safe trip to Abuja on thurs 21st howbeit with rescAbuja on 24th was rudely cancelled without apology. Infact some aggrieved passengers were manhandled, molested and embarrassed by overzealous staff and airport officials. Worst still refunds of the money has not been made despite the promise of the so-called manager to refund same within 7days. I suffered untold hardship because of that flight cancellation, I dont think I would advise even my enemy to experience such. Upon all I suffered without any remorse from the Arik Air, NO REFUND OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY HAS BEEN MADE! I may be forced to seek redress in court if nothing tangible is done. Wow, have just booked a flight with arik air from London to Lagos . I wished that I had read this review before booking my flight . My consolation is in God who's able to make every impossibilities to be possible. I hope that Arik air step up to the challenge and begin to provide world class services to its customer. They have every opportunity to grow and become one of the best airlines. I will also encourage the staff to work towards reshaping the future of the airline for the betterment of everyone. It is just a matter of a short time now until Arik Air folds like so many before it. Unless quick action is taken this airline will have no operations. Pilots have not been paid for months and many are leaving and so they try to recruit more staff but then they too leave due non payments. Everywhere bills are not paid as well as salaries. Business passengers book with other airlines to have security of the flight going ahead. Terrible and a great shame as many peoples will be left with no job. Arik must pay the bills and the staff and especially pilots, nobody wants a stressed out unpaid pilot operating aircrafts with hundreds of people on it.

While I do not wish Arik Airline any evil, it is very evident from all information and customers' dissatisfaction that it is a matter of time before this Airline folds up. The Arik is causing untold misery to passengers and this is morally and professionally reprehensible. How sad.

I departed fr om Malaysia on the 5th June, 2016 on Etihad Airways based on my flight scheduled I was to arrive Lagos by 8am on 6th June, 2016 and hence I booked my round trip ticket with Arik which was scheduled to depart fr om Lagos by 11:15am and arrive in Kaduna by 12:15pm on 6th June, 2016 and return on 16th June, 2016 (After much consideration of other airlines, I felt Arik being the most expensive would provide better services). However, It has been the worst experience flying, an airline with no courtesy of updating its passengers of its flight delays, series of episodes unfolded starting from my at Lagos, at the domestic airport an agent advised me he was to assist to check in passengers (he was in-front of the check in counter) hence I gave him my passport to check in and after he completed that He handed me the passport and boarding pass and requested for a payment of 2000 Naira. I was shocked and asked for what? He claims it was for his "services", I had no choose but to pay. After which I went to the lounge awaiting my flight, the whole purpose of my visit to Nigeria was to visit my sick mum, whom had been admitted for weeks. It was just few mins to the scheduled departure time when the airport announced a 1 hour delay in the flight departure. I then had to wait to 12:15pm, after a long wait it was now 12:10pm and again no announcement or updates on the flight. I waited until about 12:45pm and still no update, so I walked up to ask the receptionist at the lounge if she had any idea what was happening or wh ere was the Arik office so I could inquire, to my greatest shock she adviced me to just wait that its normal with Arik. My family at this point wh ere already waiting for me at Kaduna, I had no sim card to advice them on the latest development. I was beginning to get upset, and had to wait up until about 2:30pm before the announce was done for boarding. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I boarded the flight from Lagos at about 3pm and landed in kaduna after transiting via Jos at about few mins after 5pm. My family ended up waiting for more 6 hours at the airport. I was thinking that was the end of it, then the stupid call center team sends an email after I have landed and gotten home to say that the flight will be delayed??? Like seriously, for Christ sake of what Good is that information to me now after already going through that ordeal. Here I was thinking that was now all over, only to find out that my return flight which was scheduled to depart from Kaduna on 16th June, 2016 was cancelled and the new flight time was on 17th June, 2016 by 2pm. There was a reason why I booked for 16th June, as I was having a connecting international flight back to Malaysia on 17th June by 9am. I tried calling the customer care service on +234(1) 279 9999. I came to understand this is a persistent behavior from your airline The number never goes through I then went to the branch office at Hamdala Kaduna only to meet a lady who was literally giving me her memorized response for cancelled flight and jumped to advice for refund, I had to tell her I chose to fly with Arik you cant just compel me towards a refund without offering me other suggestions. I then had to ask if the flight can be rescheduled? she said yes it could but the closes city was Abuja and I will have to pay additional taxes of over 12000 Naira. I couldnt believe this is actually an option and a process a so called "renowned airline in Nigeria and across Africa" will have such a crappy process. I then asked how long the refund will take and her response was " I dont know". At this point I just had it all, Now i had to book a new one way ticket with my departure date as 16th June with Medview Air (which for the record is WAY BETTER than Arik) with no delays, better baggage, new seats and clean aircraft and of course better services. Arik air Management ought sit the hell down and watch how other do it better i.e Medview Airlines. The whole experience was just a nightmare. At this point I have no idea what is happening to my refund, FYI I need that processed Immediately, I am also happy to continue share my feedback to the top management of Arik Air and the media. It was my first and will be my last time flying with Arik Air. I need an update on my refund request. The worst airline that I ever had an experience with. I hope it changes or else it's heading towards perpetual failure. They stole valuable items from my luggages and from my coats, and was never reimbursed. I am a frequent Flyer and I have a lot of friends, who are also frequent Flyers and they have various different bad experiences with Arik Airline.
