Hey, has anyone else same kind of problem that I've got? I bought flight tickets before 15th of Aug for the next winter from AB and my first flight should have been operated by them and connection flight by Niki. So I have half of flights OK, but my problem is how to get to Berlin-Tegel.... On Niki website, they still have my tickets effective and when I tried to send them message to ask about this, it appeared that their customer service... there isn't one because all the contact forms lead to AB site :( I know that there will be new connection by Eurowings to Berlin-Tegel so rebooking COULD be possible...

Guest : Guest : hi guys, my AB flight from Berlin to SF got cancelled a week ago. The agency I booked the tickets with say that as Airberlin went bankrupt I cannot get my money back - has anyone had the same problem? How can I get my money back? I bought the ticket BEFORE the company announced it was filling the bankruptcy chapter and I paid with visa (debit) I'm in the same situation! Any news on a class action case? If you are from Germany your money is gone, simple as that. If you are from a country that has some sort of Credit Card goods protection laws in which it says "if the goods weren't delivered you have the right to dispute" you might be lucky. I bought an insurance and paid with credit card, I have not gotten any money back but I am pursuing those routes as we speak. But as I said, if you didn't pay with CC and your insurance doesn't cover airline bankruptcy your money is gone.

Guest : Has anyone had any luck with checking the worldtracer aero website? I was given this website when I flied my lost baggage claim in Milan after AirBerlin failed to deliver my luggage to the correct airport. The status of my luggage states "Delivery Process Initiated", but then I got an email from worldtracer aero stating they were unable to locate my luggage?! I'm just confused and was curious if anyone else had experienced this or had good luck with the worldtracer website. Thanks! We had the same exact thing happen with our missing bags. We had ours lost on our flight from Boston to TXL on September 2 and there is still no sign of our bags. We aren't able to get anyone to help us, no matter what number we call, they have no information or updates. It has said "Delivery Process Initiated" since September 7. Today we went to the Baggage Claim center in Boston in hopes someone might be able to help us in person, and they are saying that someone closed out our entire claim (we never got our bags). I hope you have better luck than we do. This is crazy and has been such a frustrating experience. Now we are trying to figure out what to do from here...

Barry Chappell : On August 29th I flew Air Berlin and it took 8 days to get my one piece of luggage. I had to spend 880 euros to replace a few items . Federal expressing medicine trips from Leysin to Geneva airport because lost luggage said my bag would be coming in for sure today, it didn't. 4 two hour train trips each way. How do I get compensation? Please help. Barry Chappell Will likely take immense effort, conversations with CEO with descriptions of loss and costs, and a whole lot of luck Barry.

C lineberger : Where do I start? I book tickets fr om Orlando to Munich. My Orlando flight was late getting into docile dorf, my docile door flight was late departing for Munich. My Bag's were not in Munich when I arrived. I stayed in Munich for 5 days and didn't get a call until I was on my way to Prague. I told the airport to send My Bag's home because I did not trust air Berlin. I was told my bag was placed on a flight to Orlando on September 22nd 2017. Now no one knows anything about My Bag's. There were not deliver to my house. Airberlin stopped flying to Orlando as of September 25th period without my permission they ru re routed my return flight to Miami. I wasn't going to deal with airberlin anymore, so I booked a return flight from Prague to Orlando on air Canada. Air Canada is a much better and professional airline. So I called Orlando airport, lost and found knew nothing about my bag. Air Berlin was no longer at that airport as of September 25th period so my bag is somewhere and I can't find anyone who will take the time to tell me wh ere it is. Trying to call air Berlin's customer is useless I'm so tired of hearing that same old song! The airport's say its air Berlin's job, and air berlin says it's the airport's job. Does anybody know who airberlin uses to deliver bags Air Berlin cannot deliver bags in the US because FedEx will not accept their shipments. However, if a representative calls you, be sure to answer it as you can expect the airport will eventually get it and call you. Then you will have to ask if they can send it through another airport to whatever your closest airport is. That is the best Air Berlin will do assuming they ever work to get your bags to you.

These stories worry me as our luggage has been missing since 9/14, so approximately 10 days and we are having the same experience in terms of nobody answering the phone, responding to emails or being able to tell us exactly where the luggage is at this time. We flew out of Boston on 9/13 via Delta, were supposed to go to Amsterdam via KLM fr om Dublin but the flight was cancelled and that is wh ere the trouble began. We are using the world trackin site as we filed the claim in Amsterdam upon our arrival there... This is a real problem and the airlines should be held accountable....

Still waiting on mine and I traveled September 1st!! Any idea how to contact someone? Anyone at this point! This is abs absurd!!! Guest : Guest : Guest : Hello everyone. I've just picked up my luggage today fr om my local airport - which was flown here from Chicago through American Airlines (Air Berlin can't ship it to you because FedEx will not accept their shipments - because they are bankrupt). I lost it 9/1 at the start of my trip and have finally gotten it within 17 days. Two days ago I received contact from Air Berlin in Chicago and a woman there has helped me to get my luggage from Chicago to IND within 2 days. To anyone who has had little luck, hopefully you had made a claim with the initial airport it was lost in. Use the reference number you received there to make a claim on this website: wtrweb.worldtracer.aero/WTRInternet/wtwf... . Hopefully, this will help you. We had to go through LOTS of work to get our luggage and I can't say for sure which efforts really got us our luggage back, but the website might help you. Hi, that gives me a little bit of hope of at least having back my stuff. Would you mind to share wh ere exactly did you made the claim in this website? Thanks a lot for sharing it My apologies, it is a little different because you don't make claims under claims, instead you "contact your airline" and provide the email and phone number and any information you don't see filled out under "my file". For instance, mine had no address or phone number and it said I had a blue suitcase (but mine is black), so I provided this information and a day or two later I was contact by AB in Chicago. I agree, I did not think I would EVER get my luggage back as long as I waited. Now to deal with traveler's insurance....

Nikki : I have had the most horrible experience with this airline and regret ever booking a flight with them. My fiance and parents were flying from BOS to TXL on September 3, 2017 for my wedding and our checked bags never arrived in Berlin. We were told to wait and that the luggage might show up on other connecting flights through Dusseldorf. We spent 8 hours after arriving in Berlin with absolutely no answers. We filed a claim and haven't been able to find out any information as to what is going on, and it changes depending on who we speak with. On September 9th I received an email saying that my luggage was being sent rush to BOS but was never provided with any tracking information except a message that says "Delivery Process Initiated" when I log in to view my claim. We had also received a call right after the email, and we had told them to hold the bags in Berlin and that we flew out the 10th for our honeymoon, so we wanted to pick up the luggage. We went to baggage claim to get our bags (after waiting close to an hour in line) to be told the bags weren't there, they were sent to my fiance's brother (the address we gave when we flew for the wedding), then they said they went back to Boston. They have no clue. This whole experience caused so much stress and frustration leading up to my wedding, my mom had no dress, and we had to completely shop for all of our clothing for our honeymoon. We have tried calling the past two days since returning from our honeymoon to reach someone and have waited over 2 hours on hold, and nobody answers. The other number for baggage service is busy nonstop. My in laws were flying out of Berlin this morning and went back to the baggage service center to see if they could get any answers in person, and they are now saying the bags never were sent to Boston. Help! Is there anything else we can do? Nikki : I have had the most horrible experience with this airline and regret ever booking a flight with them. I've heard some people find their luggage at departure, others see it again in 4 weeks, mine took about 2 and a half weeks - a week after I returned from my trip. They said it was in several places and was often being delivered but nothing. Good luck to you!

This is the worst airline in the world. The services that they have outsourced, Menzies aviation (responsible for luggage transport) is way worse especially the people working there. My luggage has not reached me and they were so rude to customers, when I got * and had to call airport security. Please dont fly Air Berlin or get associated with Menzies aviation as they talk good while taking your money and screw you from behind.

luisa : Guest : Can someone tell me if they have received lost luggage and tell me how long it took to get it back? I'm going on 12 days now and nothing but lies fr om customer service (it landed in China, it's back in rome, we are shipping it to L'Aquila, we are shipping it to the hotel, we can't call the courier, it's at the airport for pickup, we're still shipping it, we're dropping it off today, we'll send it to US...over and over) since then. Last contact was 9/8, they said they were shipping it. I guess there is still potential for it to be sent here in the US. Should I get my hopes up? Which number did you call to actually speak to someone? I have been trying to speak to a human since september 1st with no success. Only get automated answers or links and forms to fill. Please share any phone numbers you have called so I can try too. I was given the number to connect with Air Berlin in Rome, idk if that number would be the same for you. All they provided were different pieces of information to get us off the phone. I did receive a call from Chicago today saying my luggage was there now. However, we also got a call while in Rome that it was there and when we arrived - no one knew wh ere it was at all. So, I'm looking for some measure of confirmation so I don't drive 4 hours to get to an airport just to leave empty-handed.

Guest : Guest : My bag was lost travelling to Florence fr om Berlin via Dusseldorf Sep 4th. I even flew to DUS airport to try and track it down myself. After one week it arrived in Florence. I was so happy except by then I was back in Berlin. So I either had to pay to fly to Florence and back to pick it up or risk getting the airport to send it back to Berlin. I chose to risk it. The airport sent it back to Berlin via Air Berlin flights :-( FML Now I am stuck in the same position again. No one knows wh ere it is and no-one answers the phone calls or emails. Apparently my bag has been handed over to Baggage Express for delivery... does anyone know if this is a good sign? Honestly, I'd like to know how you tracked it down yourself. How does that work? Also, I don't think it's a good sign to be frank, mine has been at that status for near a week and nothing. My bag has been missing since 9/1 and has status "DELIVERY PROCESS INITIATED" since 9/5. NO SIGNS OF MY BAG. No one answers phone or emails. I don't know what to do anymore. I just wanted to know if my bag is in Berlin or Dusseldorf or where, so I can find a way to pick it up. Guest : Luggage never made the connection in Dusseldorf to Linate, Italy on 9/1. There were over 150 people from this flight in the lost luggage line at Linate. Both bags still missing after 13 days. Both my wife and mine - no clothing for our anniversary trip to Italy. No one is answering the phone at Linate or Air Berlin. No updates. I have purchased outside insurance, but won't be reimbursed because Air Berlin what provide a lost bag statement. No reimbursement by insurance! Get out! I've just filed a claim and I'll be d* if I don't get some form of compensation or at the VERY LEAST get my luggage back! It's about time someone sues them and everyone gets their luggage sent back and their flights refunded from Air Berlin. Disgusting.

I've messaged Air Berlin Facebook and they said the baggage sorting machine in DUS broke down a few days ago, leading to major problems. That being said, it's been 6 days and I'm desperate to get my luggage back... I was at TXL luggage center 2 days in a row but the staff was repeating there are 12 containers of luggage in the back and that it's impossible for him to find specific luggage. It seems like a lot of people lost their luggage while transferring from Dusseldorf!

They have lost my bag since August 31, when no one of hte flight from Dusseldorf got thier bags from August 31st. Not one bag was delievered for entire plane, Then no help at all, here are some of the baggage service agent comments: from Barcelona " they are a bankrupt airlines and there is no way to track bags from Dusseldorf because of work stoppage" "They are keeping your bags in Dusseldorf on purpose we can't advise if you will see them again- they have labor issues" Woman named Victoria at SFO AirBerlin baggage service , "We don't have computers at SFO to track bags for AirBerlin, we only take complaints for "new lost bags" on paper, for so we can't advise of the status of your missing bags sorry for your loss The rest of the discussions with Barcelona and baggage service agent was lie after lie about status, "its in Barcelona, we sent it to your hotel, we found it in Dusseldorf" they will say whatever to get you to go away. I now am reconciled that none of us will never see our bags again. Yesterday a large % of pilots walked off sick and AB cancelled >100 flights, So if the pilots and baggage folks are NOT working due to bankruptcy then what would tell you the AirBerlin mechanics are working? Lucky to get out alive I guess. if they are in this much turmoil they should stop flying before they kill someone.

Help! We really have no idea what else to do have you heard anything back? We came to Italy for a wedding and still no baggage with our clothes on after 4 days!! Guest : 08/09Sep, San Francisco-Berlin-Milan. Everybody on the same connection is missing their luggage. At Milan Airport they assumed it got stucked at Berlin airport. No update so far and nobody is answering the phone. How hard can it be to locate the luggage of a whole flight?

I have been waiting for my bag to be delivered to me by next delivery after an air Berlin flight for over a week now. I have tried multiple times, every day to get in contact with them using the contact details given to me by the airport (email and phone), the contact details on the bed website (different email and phone) as well as the contact box. I have heard nothing back. Has anyone got some tips on how to contact them? It would be great if anyone knows their physical address. My whole life is in that bag so I am desperate to get it back!!

Can someone tell me if they have received lost luggage and tell me how long it took to get it back? I'm going on 12 days now and nothing but lies from customer service (it landed in China, it's back in rome, we are shipping it to L'Aquila, we are shipping it to the hotel, we can't call the courier, it's at the airport for pickup, we're still shipping it, we're dropping it off today, we'll send it to US...over and over) since then. Last contact was 9/8, they said they were shipping it. I guess there is still potential for it to be sent here in the US. Should I get my hopes up?

Air Berlin is the worst ever! agreed. luggage missing for 6 days... zero help after 10 calls, nobody returns a call. They say its likely in Dusseldorf, but no way to speak to someone there they say... only email. the absolute worst customer service I have ever confronted. shame on them!

omg! I lost my bags (4 of them) during my FLR-DUS-TXL trip.

Hello. My baggage was lost on a flight from Los Angeles to Geneva via Dusseldorf on Sept 1st. It has been 5 days now. I have called the Lost and Found at Geneva airport as instructed and they are unable to provide any information. I have attempted to contact Airberlin several times without any success. The numbers are either not in service or have no answer. I have received no response from my emails to the airlines baggage tracing service or the customer relations. The only human being I have been able to speak has been through the reservation hotline and they say they are unable to provide any assistance. This is completely unacceptable. I understand bags get lost, but to not be able to provide any helpful information is completely is completely absurd and for it to take over 5 days to transport a missing bag is grossly incompetent. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. If anyone has any advice or knows of anything else I can do please let me know.

I flew from SFO to Vienna and had a layover in Dusseldorf Germany. The flight was of course canceled and I got on another. I was five hours late landing and once again they robbed me of my luggage. It's been 5 days without the luggage, people on the phone either hang up on me or don't pick up at all. No email responds and the airport just shoves it back to the airline. They are robbing us blind. This is supposed to be trustworthy. Why would they continue this when there have been so many unexplained loses!! They can't keep doing this. Aug 31, 2017. It is now Sept 4, 2017 and I bet you I will never see this luggage again.

There were about 20 or more passengers from SFO that also were without checked baggage. Called and emailed twice a day for the next 8 days before baggage was delivered. Air Berlin responded once in all that time--a form email, subject line "Your Concern". WTF AirBerlin?!

I flew with Air Berlin on August 7th from SFO to Berlin- 7 hour layover in Berlin with a final destination of Milan. Planned this Euro Trip a year in advance as I travelled there for a wedding and then a family reunion after. Air Berlin lost my luggage. Filled out the property irregularity report and was given a phone number to call between 10am-6pm daily to see if my luggage had been located Ruined my vacation by calling and hoping daily for some info. No one ever answered! Turns out it was a bogus number. Had no information and no suitcase for my entire trip! I returned to San Francisco on August 17th and I have yet to hear anything from Air Berlin despite filling in the claim forms.

Air Berlin lost my bag on August 24th, 2017 in Chicago, IL. I was coming from Belgrade and had connection in Berlin. Upon arriving in Chicago, I realized that my checked bag didn't arrive. I filled out the form and was informed that it may take up to 48hours to locate the bag. Needless to say 4 days later- no bag or answers from Air Berlin to my multiple emails/ phone calls. While I was filling out the form, I saw that many people from my flight were filling out the form too. If anybody that was on flight# AB7420 see this, please email me and let me know if you got your bag: dobrasinovicj2@gmail.com Thank you.

Worse Airline! Should stop flying. Not sure why the international community is letting Air Berlin ruin people vacation. I spent the past few days trying to get some help find my son's luggage. Air Berlin asked us to contact the arrival airport. The Vienna airport lost and find is telling us the Dusseldorf office is where the luggage is. No one is returning calls or helping us. Thousand of people are in the same situation and basically no one cares that people spend their savings for a vacation that is ruined by an unethical air line. This is sad and unacceptable. Airlines think it's easy to file a claim and be reimbursed. But losing personal belongings is a traumatizing event for kids and therefor i really need to find my son's luggage. This was my son's first travel alone abroad and i'm trying to minimize the psychological devastation by finding his luggage - Claim # VIEAB44024

Guest : so i booked a flight to go to berin on the 12th of april and go back on the 19th, i have seen that airberlin is going bankrupt and that some of the company would be bought by lufthansa, the flight is AB-8409, should i be concered? Not sure, I too have tickets to fly to Germany in December, so right after the prediction of how long Air Berlin flights will last. It worries me because this is supposed to be a very special trip (haven't seen my family in 10 years and was going to visit my father's grave who died while I was away), so my hope is that those slots will be bought by LH or any other airline.

Hi, I flew from Berlin to O'Hare on the 13th of August and I didn't get my luggage. I filled out the claim form and I was told I would receive an email with all the information. After I didn't get anything I called and they gave me a reference number to track my suitcase but it's not working. Was anyone on the same flight and has the same problem?

Anekha : Air Berlin lost my bad on 31st July 2017 and I have still not received it after 12 days (12th August 2017). I was flying fr om Abu Dhabi on EY029 to Barcelona via Dusseldorf and the last leg of Dusseldorf - Barcelona was on AB. The bag did not arrive in Dusseldorf and when I complained to Etihad staff and the Lost Baggage counter at Duessledorf, they said to lodge complaint in Barcelona. After delayed flight, I arrived late night in Barcelona and the bag could not be traced. I lodge complaint in Barcelona and was told the last leg carrier - Air Berlin- was responsible for finding my bag. I could only contact via a system - WorldTracer - and informed them not to forward my bag when found to Barcelona as I was going to be there for 2 days, but to send to my address in Abu Dhabi where I live. After trying to contact through my travel agent, I was told the bag was delivered to Abu Dhabi on 5th August (I was still on tour in France/Switzerland & Italy), but when I checked, no bag had been delivered to my address in Abu Dhabi. I returned to Abu Dhabi after my tour on 12th August, and checked with Etihad lost bag counter inside the airport and they checked the manual log book and told there was no record of it being delivered anywhere in Abu Dhabi. The online system showed that the bag was found and sent to Barcelona but there was no record wh ere it was delivered to, in Barcelona. Etihad has washed their hands off the problem saying its Air Berlin's responsibility as the carrier of the last leg. I contacted Air Berlin customer service and they tell me that after 5 days, they hand over to their baggage handling service partner - Baggage Express. They have an email but no phone number to call on weekend. I have sent email and hoping I will get some response. I set off on a holiday, expecting to enjoy it but had a nightmare trying to trace my bag and had to spend so much money buying an entire wardrobe for the 2 weeks holiday. I luckily took insurance separately, as I am told that Etihad and Air Berlin does not compensate for lost/delayed baggage !! Please help and advise what else I can do to find my bag as it has items of sentimental value which no money can buy. Anekha - Abu Dhabi I am starting a petition to take out Airberlin from Oneworld carriers. Airberlin does not deserve to be part of it, for the obvious negligence they have in handling luggage and for the evident lack of any customer service. Maybe this won't help to get back your luggage (or mine, which has also been missing for a week now), but maybe we can force Airberlin to improve, or speed up their inevitable crash, and save future customers our same nightmare. If you want. please sign the petition: secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/Airberlin_A...

Guest : Hi! I was on this flight as well. I had to go personally to the O'Hare Airport and they had all three of our luggages there. Good luck! Indira Buzaljko : Yesterday, August 2, we flew back to Chicago on flight AB 7420 from Berlin. One piece of our luggage was lost. I filled out claim form with all my information and was told that I would receive confirmation email and a link how to check on my claim. It has been over 30 hours and I have not receive the email nor I heard anything in regards to my lost luggage. These things happen I understand but I am very disappointed with their follow up or lack of it. The same flight, the same day, the same luck! Did you receive a reference # at least? the gue in the desk even didn't suggest us this #!

I was flying on Sunday 06.08 from Krakow to Frankfurt via Berlin Tegel. We had delay in Krakow so I almost missed my flight from Berlin to Frankfurt. My luggage wasn't in Frankfurt so I reported it and they said "okay now we're searching for it please be patient" etc. Today it's Tuesday and traving still shows "tracing continues please check back later". I was calling an airport service but they told me they still don't have any informations. I'm so * !

Germany you need to do something with this disgrace that call themselves an airline. Where are all these missing bags?? Why is it so many bags go missing? This is a huge inconvenience to people, a lot of time waisted trying to find missing bags when they should be enjoying their holidays. It's time for someone to start a class action.

Guest : Luggage lost on 29.7 Munich to Gothenburg via Berlin (7 days ago). Still no sign of the luggage, Menzies Aviation, the outsourced company, only responsible for the first 5 days. Now airberlin should take over. No-one at Airberlin answers the phone, then on simply gets disconnected. Emails not being answered. They completely ignore the passangers! Shame on them!! Never, ever again that airline!! May the go bankrupt! Also flew 29.7 from Munich to Stockholm via Berlin and lost 2 pieces of luggage. If after 21 days Air Berlin refuse to admit they have lost my bags and compensate me in full I will be submitting a claim to ARN (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden). If you are a resident in Sweden I recommend you do the same. We are entitled to about 13,000 SEK per passenger for lost luggage according to the European Air Passenger Rights Regulation and the Montreal Convention.
