I'm right there with you. I am at 25 days since I applied for Refund Request. Not a peep from Sunwing since my initial Refund Request. I used credit card and paid in installments for the trip in March 2020, travel booked for November 2020. I have emailed multiple times and the emails never get answered. I wonder if I will ever get my money back. Friends of mine that applied after me have already received their refunds. What recourse do we have? I will never fly Sunwing again!! I want my money back. Super frustrating!! I'm at the end of my rope.

Been 23 days and nothing. Im very annoyed with selloff vacations and Sunwing. I was originally told my refund would be processed a day into the travel lockdown and here I am still waiting and dealing with these people. How hard is it to reverse a charge to a debit card?

Heres my experience with them lately! Theyve got over $7,700 of my money sitting nice and cozy in their pockets! I received an email stating that I could be eligible for a refund! Sent in the booking # etc, etc! I get a response about a week later that NO, refund refused! WTF! Sent an email asking the reason and they respond that I was already using a voucher from my previous cancellation the year before! I had purchased their cancellation insurance and used it yet I had to re-purchase new tickets before theyd give me my voucher refund! Isnt that a new ticket purchase? Another couple that was traveling with us on another flight to the same destination last year who never bought their insurance got refunded! Yet they took my insurance money still yet again and told me that my voucher was good till Sept 30 2022! WTF? They cant their story straight as I saw that Sunwing is supposed to extend vouchers to Sept 30 2026! I sent numerous emails with no response as well as I left a voice message at their accounting department and no response either! Our tax $$$ help to bail them out on refunds but they are just going to cash in more $$$ that way as well!

I submitted my refund request on June 26 and nothing. No reply from Sunwing as to update. People with higher request numbers are getting refunds. 21 days. Terrible customer service. So irritated.

They said it was processed and I will see it Monday. Yesterday was wed. Nothing. I call. Was basically told by the rep that the initial rep just said that to get me off the phone as there was no record of my inquiry Nice. She wouldnt help me and I was to go back to the original email and re apply for the remainder. I get a cut and paste response from Sunwing saying it takes 7-10 days. Anyone else only receive part of your refund? Guest: I received a partial refund also, it was short $500. None of the extensions on their customer phone line are taking calls, and is now just referring people to the refund FAQ's page on their website. I can't find any other way of contacting them directly. I sent them an email, but so far haven't heard anything back.

I booked a Sunwing Costa Rica vacation for myself, my husband and 8 family members February 15 2020 to go on December 26 and come back January 3 2021. Trip cancelled of course. Trip # 200907 booked with CAA Oshawa Ontario. Spoke with agent in August and said wait until full payment due then decide in case situation eases. On October 19 was told could book as long as within year or cancel. Situation was not easing. Told no refund. Wanted to get some of $2500 back so cancelled and my husband and I got $250 each from Visa. Now see vouchers good until 2026. Was not told that or would not have cancelled. Believe I should be eligible for reimbursement for balance of $2000. People who were caught in the beginning only told 1 year only to rebook and now see year 2026 mentioned.

Was given a voucher for our cancelled trip to Jamaica, booked late Feb just before Covid cancelled all flights. We at the time found a great deal for Grand Palladium. Just searched sunwing to try to rebook for next year, they want 2965.00 for a trip that was 1600 pre covid. So I get costs go up now, I'm fine with that, but found the same trip in March with westjet & AC for 1900.00. Sunwing vouchers enable them to double the price and get their money 2 fold, how is this legal??

I booked my vacation for Jamaica back in February 2020 I am still waiting to have a full refund I have given been given a $3000 check from my credit card company but Sunwing still owes me the $4000 that also I spent I even took out the worry free cancellation insurance from Sun way and I didnt get anything then I contacted the travel agencies indemnity fund and now apparently I am in a small claims action to get the rest of my money but I never hear anything from them about whats going on so now I am wondering maybe I should just take the credits or the vouchers and book my flight for this fall of 2021 but I do not know how that works being in a class action suit it would be nice if someone let me know how that would work out

Hi I think I have some valuable info for all. The Govt advised airlines for any flight March 13, 2020 on wards to issue 100% in credit vouchers so airlines are doing that and refusing refunds. There are two ways you can try to get your money back: Option 1 - You can decline the credit vouchers and have sunwing issue you and email that vouchers have been decline and that there is NO refund. Then make a claim with your Credit Card Insurance under cancellation ins. NOTE - you need to have had credit card travel insurance for this and they have deadlines for claims usually 1 year from travel date. And they have a maximum amount they will cover. Option 2 - You can try to sell your voucher yourself to someone else and Sunwing will agree to transfer the names on the credit voucher. An announcement is coming that they have now extended these credit vouchers to Sept 30, 2026. Also they're looking at May 1, 2021 to resume flights Unfortunately my credit card insurance coverage is lower than my total amount at sunwing so I would lose too much money if I try to go with option 1.

We were booked with sunwing to go to Cuba near the end of March and had a travel voucher of $50.00 each from the previous year from having elite plus seats. We were told that no refunds were being given, travel vouchers only however they would extend it to two years expiry instead of one year.

We were supposed to fly out April 28/20 .Not happening Im just worried they will go bankrupt Don't accept a voucher as Sunwing has a reputation of terms & conditions on their voucher such as must be used within a certain period (such as 90 days or ???), or must be used at a specific hotel or specific time of year or ???. Sure the voucher may be $200. but for sure there will be strict conditions on that voucher such as a mandatory upgrade or only may be used for excursions or used towards a spa or a la cart restaurant or Sunwing may be bankrupt - who knows. Don't delay on the action you choose.

Whatever you do, please let us know the results as there are of course hundreds & hundreds of people in your position. Sunwing owes me a small amount and told us to wait for 30 days. They owe me the small amount, there is no question about that whatsoever but I won't know anything until the 30 days they told me I had to wait & they could be bankrupt by that time.

Joann Duce : I have been trying to use the Sunwing mobile check for the past 3 hours and I have had no luck. They tell you that you can check in 12 hrs before your flight but apparently that is not true. Sometimes, no I mean a lot of times their system is down, BUT Sunwing does not allow all destinations the check in feature - yes it's annoying.

Guest Andrew : Sunwing works in partnership with other booking parties to de-fraud customers with deceptive fees and cancellation policies. We are currently going through an issue with them and I am very seriously considering taking them to court over these practices. I believe a CLASS ACTION over deceptive pricing strategies and policies is in order. If you have the documents for the Sunwing complaints you mention, I am sure you won't have problems with a Class Action. As you read the comments on this www link you are not alone with complaints against Sunwing.

Sunwing is suspending all southbound flights between March 17th and April 9th. Customers are eligible to receive a refund in the original method of payment or a future travel credit. Customers who opt for a travel credit will receive an additional $100 per person to be used towards a future booking.

Do not accept Credit notes from Sunwing. You are entitled to Cash Refunds according to an official on the Radio. If Sunwing does not offer cash, go directly to your Credit Card Co and DISPUTE the charge. You will need to copy your booking and provide it to the Credit Card Co. Do not wait as who knows if Sunwing will go bankrupt. Accepting a credit for future travel will be worthless if Sunwing goes bankrupt.

Sunwing are a bunch a scammers! Taking advantage of the covid-19 crisis. I am booked for Cuba March 26 and prior to booking the only other week I was considering was Oct 22 and with all this chaos going on I tried to change my trip to the second date and the same flight on Feb 23 was $894 per person (this is their down season) and with all the chaos it went up to $1300!!!!!!!! I believe a CLASS ACTION over deceptive pricing strategies and policies is in order.

Guest : Just call them. We had to do that also. Do not pay again for seat selection!! Helena : I have purchased premium packages for everyone in our group and when I try to select the seats it takes me to the checkout and asks for credit card information. How do I go about selecting our seats since I have bout the priority packages?

I think it is time that Sunwing be responsible for the way that they treat their guest- they have more angered flyers then they have happy flyers so what do that tell you - care about what you think is not an issue to them

Our group spent over 200,000 dollars in the past 10 years with Sunwing and this year was the worst trip we ever had and they offered us a 50.00 dollar voucher and absolutely no respect!!!Just let me say with all my heart that SUNWING SUCKS!!!
