Guest : Didn't even have the change to fly with this airline because my husband had go off to syria to combat, and they would not reimburse us or credit us for another trip, completely ruined our christmas. Completely disagree with this airlines mentality as they DO NOT SUPPORT military troops. why did you not purchase insurance?? Insurance would cover that.

We traveled to Honduras, La Ceiba on 01-11-16. We had very bad experience. They lost one of my luggage. After too many complains we got our baggage in Toronto. All our clothes were there. They ruined our vacation. NEVER take this company!!!!!!

Sitting here at the airport 1.5hrs after scheduled departure time. Tour operator did not inform us the plane was delayed so wasted the whole day at reception waiting for the bus. Booked 2 tours that were a * of time and money. The second day they picked us up 1.5hrs late. We missed breakfast do to this and spent the day starving until returning to our hotel 2.5hrs late. If you have an option skip the champagne service and book another airline. Nexus tours is the affiliate so stay away fr om them as well. Guest : Oh my god, we just booked a vacation with them to Cancun! I wish I found this web site before booking and paying for it. Now I'm scared. So many bad recent reviews! This is incredible! How is that possible? I have to do some research wh ere to complain to avoid a horror trip. Thanks everyone for your feedback and hope your next trips are better. Wish us luck, we are leaving on Saturday from Toronto.

We just came back from Cancun to Montreal with my husband and my 3 years old daughter. The worse experience ever - RUDE STUFF !!!!!! Very unprofessional, unfriendly head flight assistant, rude with my little girl. NEVER take this air company!!!!

Sunwing / Signature - has anyone else every ran into this one? I booked a sunwing vacation, their email back to me says sunwing, the website I booked it on was sunwing but the invoice is signature. This vacation was booked early to take advantage of their early bird special ( which ends up being a joke). 2 weeks prior to the vacation I notice it has dropped significantly in price - $1365 to be exact. I call the number on the bill to see if they can adjust the price any - it's sunwing not signature. Their message to me is signature doesn't have a price drop guarantee, but sunwing does, and signature hasn't dropped their price on that vacation - sunwing has though. Too bad , so sad enjoy your overpriced vacation. Oh, I am thick because many others told me to stay far away from these 2 companies.

4 days into a 7 day trip to Dominican and we were just informed the flight is now leaving 12 hours earlier than we booked, stealing a full day from our trip. This is without a doubt the last time I will use Sunwing for anything. 9 people leaving for the snow a day earlier and Sunwing will do nothing about it. But they did say they were sorry. Kiss my * . A call into the booking agent only confirmed that thus is not an unusual thing with Sunwing.

Hello- I travelled with sunwing to cayo coco on January 3rd- my phone fell out of my bag under my seat 1A. I put the phone in lost mode and someone from the sunwing counter called my daughter and said they had the phone. They said they put a note on the phone with my name and that I was to pick it up at the Sunwing baggage counter in Terminal One upon my return on Jan 10 I went to the counter when i landed at 3am in the morning. The customer service rep would not even look for my phone stating that it wouldnt be there- he gave me a number to call. I have been calling this number every day upon my return and no one will call me back at the number I leave I tried calling the number that called my daughter and it is the sunwing baggage desk in terminal one- they would not answer my question My phone is showing as being located in Terminal One at Pearson Airport I am not sure why NO ONE will help me with this- I need my phone returned. The number you can reach my husband at- since you have my phone- is 905 580 5080. Do not give me another number to contact- I have been calling 416 776 9978

One of the reasons to book sunwing airlines is flying non stop. I booked a ticket from YOW to FLL a few month ago, I received an urgent email from them saying flight schedule has been changed and the flight will go through Toronto airport to FLL. I made a phone call to ask refund tickets as I don't want to spend 3-4 more hours to get to Florida. They said, if you cancel your ticket, you get nothing! Don't even try to apologize to me. What a great service!

Sun Wing sold traveler's health insurance for my senior mother to accompany me to florida, but did not actually purchase the insurance. They certainly did not fail to charge me for it though. When I called Imanulife a week before the flight to get particulars and claim number just in case, I was told Who?? This was during the Xmas holidays and I was not able to find another alternative health insurance so I had to cancel her trip. Sunning will not reimburse me for her flight, but they did say that they would reimburse me for her insurance. How kind of them...I never would have bought the ticket without the insurance. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!! Sue them in court - you will win.

I had a very bad experience with Sunwing travels to Cuba when I travelled on 16th December and my bag came on 26 December. I had a hard time in cuba without clothes and my laptop and my other important things. I live in Santa- lucia and I have travelled 2 times from santa lucia to camagway airport to have an inquiry of my baggage by taking a Taxi , and finally I got my luggage on 26th December. My whole trip was a disaster because of this issue and when I came back to Toronto on 31st December I tried to contact the Sunwings Airline to late baggage department but there was no response from them. I don't know how would i talk to them now because they aren't answering so I would like to give my e- mail address which is sheikhnoor1234@gmail.com

Sunwing offered an Adults Only package for the Be Live hotel in Punta Cana. The cost at the hotel is $25 USDpp per day. This totals $350USD (approx $490CD) for the week. We purchased this adults only package from Sunwing which was to include * Private check in and check out- we arrived with over 85 other pax and had to fight to find someone to check us in. They tried to herd us in line with the others and were trying to dismiss private check in and say it didn't exist * Private adults only pool and beach area- dozens of children were occupying this area and when I went to Sunwing on site to inquire, I was told by Deyanira that since it was Christmas, adults only was not in effect and there was nothing she could do. *VIP lounge with WIFI and butler service- never met a butler, and the lounge was full of children * Welcome bottle- never got one until friends checked in on Dec 26 and I saw theirs * In room safe- because check in took so long and it was late, they told us that they couldn't provide a safe key. I was told to go to the main lobby and see if they had one. Yet another line up to get an amenity we paid for. * Adult Hotel Room- there was no capacity in the adults section for a room, given a room in another part of resort. Condensation dripped from the ceiling to the bed, toilet stopped and TV stopped. Unacceptable. *concierge booking all dinner reservations- constant screw ups which resulted in missing dinner reservations and more lining up OTHER ISSUES because of Sunwing -upon arrival, disorganized staff put us on the wrong bus, then took us to the wrong lobby, then played dumb about private check in -onsite SW reps Deyanira and Aneudy are of no help and specialize in passing the buck. How can you put your Canadian clients at the mercy of staff that are ill mannered and not well trained? And yet advertise worry free vacations? -return flights on Jan 1- Four flights leaving simultaneously on SunWing from the resort. Mass disorganization from reps starting from the hotel, straight through to the airport. -Return flight was at 3:55pm, it took from 1pm to 3:45pm to check in, then we were told to run to catch the plane (by a SW employee), then upon reaching G6, were admonished by another Sunwing employee when we tried to get on the shuttle to the aircraft. NOT ONE person had informed us the flight was DELAYED. We finally flew out at 7PM. Nothing was updated on Sunwing's website, and as a result this also wreaked havoc with our Toronto pickup. From start to finish Sunwing did not deliver what we paid for.

They lose luggage and could care less. They have your money what do they care Not even a phone call with any update or how can we fix this nothing and good luck calling anyone the day of answering machines are used on every line it's like talk to the machine so we can erase your complaint nice way to wreck a holiday spend your life looking and calling for your luggage. The worse part I upgraded to elite just so I could get this ( special ) service. Sunwing you suck is my end of the day comment. I'll fly with someone willing to look for missing luggage it's worth the $100 bucks difference in price.

It sounds like Sunwing is owned and managed by a bunch of incompetent people. Here comes my list of complaints: 1) We checked out of our hotel in La Romana before noon, 29 Dec. and were supposed to be driven by Sunwing bus to Punta Cana airport at 2:30 PM. Then we were informed that there was a delay of 4 hrs. 2) We boarded the plane around 7 pm, then told we had to stop in Hamilton, Ontario. No explanation given, no one knows why. We were initially told this was a direct flight both ways. We later discovered that the plane needed "refuelling" and the crew was to be replaced. Sound familiar? 3) There was a snow storm in Hamilton and re-routed to Toronto, where the storm had not yet reached. 4) After waiting in Pearson for at least 4 hrs. we were told the crew is driving from Hamilton in the snow storm to Pearson. Sounds like there is no crew/pilot in Pearson??? What happen if this crew doesn't make it? 5 It took us over 20 hrs. from hotel check-out to Vancouver with a 1 year old baby. It took only 7 hrs. when flying to Punta Cana. 6) My wife and I spent the next 6 days suffering from food poisoning contracted from Sunwing "food". We started vomiting within 1 hr. after eating the smoked-meat sandwich served on the plane. My daughter-in-law had diahhrea for 5 days during an all inclusive at the Be-Live, Canoa Hotel in La Romana. 7) How Sunwing could survive for so many years is beyond me. 8) I wouldn't do that again if the entire trip is free of charge. Really like to know if the management ever thought if the poor crew did make it to Pearson driving in the snow storm?

As long as you don't forget anything you're good. I left something valuable on the plane, and tried calling baggage multiple times without avail, and when I called reception, they transferred me back to baggage the second I said I forgot something, without even telling me so. The thing is, there's no way someone could've taken it, I was one of the last passengers off the plane, and knew everyone behind me, and if an attendant checked each seat for barf bags...etc., then...

UPDATE: Flight 801 from Toronto to Vancouver. LUGGAGE WAS FOUND WITHIN 48 HOURS AND DELIVERED TO ME IN VANCOUVER. Trying to contact Sunwing about lost luggage is kind of useless. Half of the numbers we were given didn't work or had no answer. In the end, our luggage was found, and a Vancouver airport rep (not Sunwing) called us about the found bags and delivered it to us. No idea what happened to get our bags lost in the first place, but at least I got mine back.

Dorothy : I was on the same flight WG801, travelling from Toronto to Vancouver. Their service is really bad. I have left several messages asking about my missing luggage, and I am still waiting for a call back. I am SUPER mad at them because they also MADE me check in my luggage. If I had ignored them, this would not have happened. Someone was sleeping on the job, because 10 other passengers also lost their luggage on a 5 hour DIRECT flight!!! I am definitely looking for compensation of any sort. Dorothy, I will respond on this board if I hear anything back from Sunwing. My husband keeps calling them but still no answer. Off to Shoppers Drug Mart to replace a bunch of things that were in my bag. I suggest keeping receipts of all of the items you have to buy to replace things that were in the bag. Might be easier to get compensation if they can't find our stuff. I am wondering if it is just sitting somewhere at Pearson. We were at the airport 2 hours prior to departure, but because of the giant line, large numbers of people forced to check carry-ons and then go pay in another line, we weren't actually checked in until about 7:15pm. What time did you check your bag? I am just wondering if some bags didn't make the plane because of the late check-in. However, that doesn't really explain the people who got 1 of their bags but not the other, or why the bags weren't put on the next flight out to Vancouver 45 minutes later.

Terrible experience of this company!! Not advised about a welcome meeting. Everything was so rushed and on the first night of my stay, I was awoken by the sounds of construction work taking place. The hotel was disappointing and when I complained to Sunwing about the construction, they responded by saying the hotel, Aguas Azules, denied any such construction took place.

It is a nightmare, first when we went to check in point they notify every that the will charge for each bag 50 $ regardless any thing. The flight was delayed 2 hours without posting or informing the passengers about the delayed. Then we have to stay inside the airplane for one and half hour because the pilot forgot to take the gas receipt, yes receipt. And we have to wait all the time with out any complimentary drink or even water. It will be my first and last trip on this airline

Two years in a row they had to manually check people in and took close to 3 hours to do so, not rocket science to have a system that checks people in. We never fly with them anymore and their planes are small and cramped. Last year we had Canjet a huge plane and comfortable always to Cuba. This year we are trying Air Transat but avoid Sunwing like a plague.

We have been using Sunwing for years, in the beginning they were very good, much smaller. The last 2 years, out of the 5 trips we have used them, we had issues with 4 out of the 5... lost luggage, over 2-3 hours delays, you name it. Now this year Dec 19th we went to Cancun. When I booked the trip, of course, was a direct flight, (that is why we use them!), a week before, get notice, we had to leave earlier, fly to Wpg, then to Cancun, same on the return flight. Was not impressed, but I was told we had no options. So up at 3:00 am, at airport at 4:00 am, leave Regina 6:00 am. Arrive Wpg 7:00 am, 8:00 am they still aren't boarding in Wpg, 9:00 am Wpg still not boarding flight, then we find out the flight was overbooked, they offered people $150 to change from this flight, fly to Toronto, then fly into Cancun later that night. Not likely. Finally shortly after 10:00 am we leave Wpg. As I am sitting on the plane for 3 hours in Wpg,(were not offered any water or beverages!) I posted this mess on facebook, and looking on the internet, there was a direct flight out of Regina at 7:00 am to Cancun??? What??? This company is terrible, they are larger now, and just don't care and their service is horrible. I have to say, I am done using this company, we take 2-3 trips every year, but will look at WestJet now, I have never had issues on any WestJet flights, always on time, I always get my luggage... never problems.

What I'm reading on here is just normal operating procedure for Sunwing. I experienced that two years ago on a flight to Cuba. Two o'clock in the morning and our flight was the only one left in the Varadero departure lounge. We hadn't seen a Sunwing agent since arriving in Varadero at 4:30 pm. The horror story continued until the afternoon of the following day. I now choose to fly with Air Canada or Westjet via Toronto from Saskatoon to Cuba.

The stop in Hamilton was to be a refuelling/crew change scheduled to be 40 minutes. Due to operational and weather issues we overnight in Hamilton. Now for the inexcusable sh.. Waited a hr for a so call pre-arranged taxi to the hotel. Got to the hotel at 6:30 am and asked to be ready to be picked up at 9 am to depart at 12:00 noon. Crew is now late and the departure moved to 1:30 pm. So we arrived in Hamilton for a fuel/crew stop at 9:30 pm and after 15 hrs of delay, we are still waiting for SunWing to get us back to Calgary. Too much BS statements giving people hope throughout these delays. Just grow-up SunWing and tell your customers the truth or your customers will not be there!!! Hi Jason, Please call me. I agree with the comments below. It is amazing that they are still in business, I've travelled with them three years in a row always making up my own excuses for them until last year. I was sure that when i complained and explained my experiences that i would get some sort of credit and i received nothing. The don't even reply to your emails. This year, I've chosen Air Canada and will never fly Sunwing again.

Just got back from Puerto Vallarta on dec 20th. Originally our trip was direct from Saskatoon. Then it got changed to stop in Regina. Disappointing as we had paid for a direct flight. On the way there and home there was a crew change and problems with "paperwork". Ended up stuck on a plane in Regina for 2 hours with no explanations, apologies, food or drink. Not a pleasant experience with young kids!

Guest : ARE YOU WAITING IN CALGARY ALSO? Staff are rude and unhelpful. Keep bringing up their "terms and conditions" as an excuse for why they cannot do anything to help me. Haven't even left for my vacation yet... The 1st time I called their rep hung up on me after telling me she doesn't have to listen to me. Wish more than anything I could switch to another provider ...but I'm leaving in only a week. Please stay away from them.. they absolutely do not care about their customers!

Just a terrible experience with Sunwing! After an hour and a half delay leaving Punta Cana, we stopped in Hamilton to fill up. Apparently a direct flight is not the same as a non stop flight. It was known in advance that they were expecting freezing rain in Hamilton, but we still decided to land there. After they conveniently decided to change crew in Hamilton, we were stuck on the tarmack because the runway wasn't safe enough to take off on. Communication was very poor when it came to the delay. A 10 minute delay often became an hour delay and the flight attendants were very useless. Most of them sat in the back playing on their phones or doing anything to avoid helping the passengers. We had to go to the back and ask for water repeatedly before they finally decided to hand out water. The only food we got during the delay was a couple of cookies. Overall we spent over 6 hours waiting on the Tarmac before they finally decided to let us off the plane. Even more, we had to walk outside on the icy surface because no tug could move us to a gate. After clearing customs, we had to wait in line for a taxi to the hotel. We finally got to the hotel around 6:30 and were asked to come back at 9. It's now 1.30 and we were supposed to leave at 12. No pilots or crew are even here. They had to use the maintenance crew to move the plane to the gate. Just a frustrating experience overall that still isn't over. Would not recommend Sunwing!

Here is the Sunwing Vacation you dream. Your Flight fr om Punta Cana leaves 1hour 45 minutes late ( #Sunwing ) blames the people at Airport. Flight is supposed to go to Edmonton but instead it goes to Ottawa, first its supposed to be a quick stop for fuel. But then the staff indicate that a new crew needs to come in from Toronto and they will get there when they do. Not don the wonderful vacation. Now everyone is asked to leave the plane grave your luggage and go to #Sunwing counter to get new ticket for the flight, but when you get there all the #Sunwing staff are GONE, Yes gone. The other airlines are helping out since all the #Sunwing staff have all taken off. So you call the customer support and this one is the best. Sir sorry I cannot help you since you are in your post trip, I asked WHAT , what post trip. She then told me she only deals with bookings. SO for those thinking of using #Sunwing on your next Vacation ask yourself, do you want to be sent to another city other than your home city and with nobody to help you. Guest : As I type this we are stuck in a Sun Wing plane on the Tarmac in Ottawa. Our return destination is Toronto however. There is a snow storm in Toronto. However, for unexplained reasons the flight arrived in Montego Bay to pick us up three hours late. If it came on time we would be home now as the storm hit later than our scheduled arrival time. This is not fun with a two year old. The stewardess has told us that no one can get up and use the washroom. Again we are on the Tarmac with no idea if this plane will stay here for the night or depart for Toronto. I rarely give reviews but am extremely frustrated with Sun Wing and am on a flight that has no end in sight. Here is the Sunwing Vacation you dream. Your Flight fr om Punta Cana leaves 1hour 45 minutes late ( #Sunwing ) blames the people at Airport. Flight is supposed to go to Edmonton but instead it goes to Ottawa, first its supposed to be a quick stop for fuel. But then the staff indicate that a new crew needs to come in from Toronto and they will get there when they do. Not don the wonderful vacation. Now everyone is asked to leave the plane grave your luggage and go to #Sunwing counter to get new ticket for the flight, but when you get there all the #Sunwing staff are GONE, Yes gone. The other airlines are helping out since all the #Sunwing staff have all taken off. So you call the customer support and this one is the best. Sir sorry I cannot help you since you are in your post trip, I asked WHAT , what post trip. She then told me she only deals with bookings. Just had one of my worst delay experience ever. Traveling back from Dominican via Hamilton to Calgary. The stop in Hamilton was to be a refuelling/crew change scheduled to be 40 minutes. Due to operational and weather issues we overnight in Hamilton. Now for the inexcusable sh.. Waited a hr for a so call pre-arranged taxi to the hotel. Got to the hotel at 6:30 am and asked to be ready to be picked up at 9 am to depart at 12:00 noon. Crew is now late and the departure moved to 1:30 pm. So we arrived in Hamilton for a fuel/crew stop at 9:30 pm and after 15 hrs of delay, we are still waiting for SunWing to get us back to Calgary. Too much BS statements giving people hope throughout these delays. Just grow-up SunWing and tell your customers the truth or your customers will not be there!!!

Staff are rude and unhelpful. Keep bringing up their "terms and conditions" as an excuse for why they cannot do anything to help me. Haven't even left for my vacation yet... The 1st time I called their rep hung up on me after telling me she doesn't have to listen to me. Wish more than anything I could switch to another provider ...but I'm leaving in only a week. Please stay away from them.. they absolutely do not care about their customers!

ON Dec 20 2015 we traveled to Cuba with Sunning for the 4th time. I was very unhappy with this trip because they told us that the Grand Memories in Varadero was completely upgraded in new but it was not true the rooms were noy.We lost the hole day leaving from Cuba on the 27 Dec 2015 because the flight was suppose to leave at 21:00 but left at 23:30because we were suppose to leave the room at 12:00 and leave the Grand memories at 17:30 was put back at 19;00 but left at20:00 from the sight. the flight was late over an hour. the year before we went to mexico and we had to wait over 2 hours to get our bagages after we landed. This is the last time that I travel with this company.

I have utilized Sunwing on two occasions and my opinion is Good. Although we arrived at our destination Two hours late...it is common for late departures however the destination was what we paid for. Nice and clean Wyndham Fortuna Bahamas! Food and drink is what it is ,,,,our plan from the date we booked was Sun and Read tan and enjoy the balance of the holiday was Rest and Enjoy,,,saying you get what you pay for if your looking for the million dollar vaca on on budget Sunwing does fit the profile! I plan to travel again with Sunwing possible another destination in March!!

Brutal service! Late leaving and returning by 2+ hours with no explanation, mediocre food and movies. To top it off they did not have the Canadian customs forms or us to fill out. Do not fly this airline if you can help it!

On December 24 was me and my mom first time travelling with Sunwing Airline and I must say my experiences was absolutely fantastic. I did went online checking with the reviews but then I decided not to go with the reviews and give the Airline a try and was I ever impress with the services from the time I arrive on the plane from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale and my mom could not walk to much and the stewardess recommend someone to get a wheel chair for her on our arrival to Fort Lauderdale. I was truly impress with the services on the plane we were offered a meal and something to drink. The stewardess was very friendly and quite helpful. Thank you Sunwing for a wonderful and excellent experiences and thanks again for great services. Thank You

Hi,we travel from Cancun to Edmonton,over bag 23kg was missing,and don't found yet,and probable never be found.I don't understand how??????????A lot of very EXPENSIVE clothes and many other stuff.I do not need a compensation,I need my bag.Never ever flying with SUNWING anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT BOOK WITH SUNWING! I had a cancellation issue dispute with Expedia and Sunwing. I had called the agent of Sunwing before I cancelled it. That agent told me that the penalty was 60$ and I accepted that. When I did cancellation on website, I saw THE PENALTY WAS 60$, nothing else! Expedia and Sunwing kicked the ball each other! My conclusion is THEY JUST DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING AND DO NOT WANT TO HELP AT ALL! NO REFUND!

TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! I don't even have the energy to type out this * . Plane delayed 6 hours. Excuse=broken plane. WTF? Seems to be a recurring theme in these reviews. Offered a 15 dollar food voucher though!! HOW KIND!! <3 My response= "Oh my goodness :) thank you so much (after the worst customer service I've ever experienced) cont- you can keep that food voucher because I will have no use for it. I will never be flying with you again. I am so sorry for everyone who has had a terrible experience. I'm shocked at some of the stories on here. Went and bought a west jet ticket 500 dollars later. West jet was incredible/ a breath of fresh air. I wasn't trying to save money with sunwing the flight was booked for me. * happens all the time-I get it- But tell the truth and explain whats going on to people rather then deserting them in airports for 6-12 hours. I was hoping that no one else would experience what I did but theres clearly over 11 pages on here of people who have. Major sigh. Sunwing I forgive you but check yourself. Please give my food voucher to one of your staff so they smile next time :)
