SUNWING has a big problem and it's not the money at this time. They have hundreds of unfiled job's as everyone is leaving sinking ship. They are not flying due to labor shortages therefore no income so they are using government hand out to survive. Next is step will be selling off Royalton resorts. TUI has offered a buy out few months ago but family said no. I'd say October is the date to say goodbye to Sunwing.

Been 23 days and nothing. I’m very annoyed with selloff vacations and Sunwing. I was originally told my refund would be processed a day into the travel lockdown and here I am still waiting and dealing with these people. How hard is it to reverse a charge to a debit card?
Here’s my experience with them lately! They’ve got over $7,700 of my money sitting nice and cozy in their pockets! I received an email stating that I could be eligible for a refund! Sent in the booking # etc, etc! I get a response about a week later that “NO”, refund refused! WTF! Sent an email asking the reason and they respond that I was already using a voucher from my previous cancellation the year before! I had purchased their cancellation insurance and used it yet I had to re-purchase new tickets before they’d give me my voucher refund! Isn’t that a new ticket purchase? Another couple that was traveling with us on another flight to the same destination last year who never bought their insurance got refunded! Yet they took my insurance money still yet again and told me that my voucher was good till Sept 30 2022! WTF? They can’t their story straight as I saw that Sunwing is supposed to extend vouchers to Sept 30 2026! I sent numerous emails with no response as well as I left a voice message at their accounting department and no response either! Our tax $$$ help to bail them out on refunds but they are just going to cash in more $$$ that way as well!

I booked a Sunwing Costa Rica vacation for myself, my husband and 8 family members February 15 2020 to go on December 26 and come back January 3 2021. Trip cancelled of course. Trip # 200907 booked with CAA Oshawa Ontario. Spoke with agent in August and said wait until full payment due then decide in case situation eases. On October 19 was told could book as long as within year or cancel. Situation was not easing. Told no refund. Wanted to get some of $2500 back so cancelled and my husband and I got $250 each from Visa. Now see vouchers good until 2026. Was not told that or would not have cancelled. Believe I should be eligible for reimbursement for balance of $2000. People who were caught in the beginning only told 1 year only to rebook and now see year 2026 mentioned.

Was given a voucher for our cancelled trip to Jamaica, booked late Feb just before Covid cancelled all flights. We at the time found a great deal for Grand Palladium. Just searched sunwing to try to rebook for next year, they want 2965.00 for a trip that was 1600 pre covid. So I get costs go up now, I'm fine with that, but found the same trip in March with westjet & AC for 1900.00. Sunwing vouchers enable them to double the price and get their money 2 fold, how is this legal??

I booked my vacation for Jamaica back in February 2020 I am still waiting to have a full refund I have given been given a $3000 check from my credit card company but Sunwing still owes me the $4000 that also I spent I even took out the worry free cancellation insurance from Sun way and I didn’t get anything then I contacted the travel agencies indemnity fund and now apparently I am in a small claims action to get the rest of my money but I never hear anything from them about what’s going on so now I am wondering maybe I should just take the credits or the vouchers and book my flight for this fall of 2021 but I do not know how that works being in a class action suit it would be nice if someone let me know how that would work out

I had my trip canceled in 2020 and I did not receive a refund. Sunwing initially allowed me to opt for a full refund but then reneged and only provided a credit voucher.

Hi I think I have some valuable info for all. The Govt advised airlines for any flight March 13, 2020 on wards to issue 100% in credit vouchers so airlines are doing that and refusing refunds. There are two ways you can try to get your money back: Option 1 - You can decline the credit vouchers and have sunwing issue you and email that vouchers have been decline and that there is NO refund. Then make a claim with your Credit Card Insurance under cancellation ins. NOTE - you need to have had credit card travel insurance for this and they have deadlines for claims usually 1 year from travel date. And they have a maximum amount they will cover. Option 2 - You can try to sell your voucher yourself to someone else and Sunwing will agree to transfer the names on the credit voucher. An announcement is coming that they have now extended these credit vouchers to Sept 30, 2026. Also they're looking at May 1, 2021 to resume flights Unfortunately my credit card insurance coverage is lower than my total amount at sunwing so I would lose too much money if I try to go with option 1.

We were booked with sunwing to go to Cuba near the end of March and had a travel voucher of $50.00 each from the previous year from having elite plus seats. We were told that no refunds were being given, travel vouchers only however they would extend it to two years expiry instead of one year.
