Had the worst experience ever (I have been on more then 20 different airlines in my life). Our flight was delayed due to weather conditions to the next day, for them to tell us afterwards that there are now technical issues with the flight… This is ridiculous I will never book with them again!

The voucher came by email and I had no issues with using it. You must use it within a year though. Typical Sunwing though, the trip back to Canada was delayed for hours. We were stuck in a plane for 4 hrs.

Funny how they can take a payment instantly, yet even to use an issued voucher there is a wait to get reimbursed (Credit Card), Huh. Pretty much zero instruction how to properly use the voucher in their online booking, and just pray that the voucher took. Looked high and low over the internet to get some concrete info on how the whole process worked, and found pretty much zero. Their website FAQ was absolutely useless. Hopes & prayers that the rest of hard working people who have their money being held hostage for no apparent reason, can get some sort of resolution.

I have been waiting for my travel voucher from Sunwing for almost 3 months now. I purchased the "worry-free cancellation insurance" and cancelled my trip 2 weeks before departure. Was told it would take 4-6 weeks to process the voucher and would be sent to me via email. It is now almost 9 weeks and no voucher. When I've called sunwing, I was speaking to someone who was looking into it and the line dropped. I called back and the lady magically said that my information wasnt in their system. I called back to speak to someone else, this time my information was In fact in their system and was able to see that I had the cancellation insurance but said because the trip was booked through a travel agent I needed to speak to them and have them reach out to sunwing. I bought the insurance through sunwing directly and not through the agent. This is unacceptable!

Vouchers dont work if the airline used in your package is anything other than sunwing airlines. EVERY PACKAGE FROM MY CITY IS NOT SUNWING.

Sunwing just told me I could book a new trip (and pay for it again) and then send the new booking number and the old booking number to Sunwing and then once the voucher is ready they will put it against the new booking number. That process would take 4-6 weeks. I've already been waiting 6 weeks for my voucher with no end in sight!!!
Our vacation to Cayo Santa Maria was just cancelled by Sunwing 3 weeks prior to our departure from Halifax. We got full refund and rebooked flying out of Toronto at a later date. Fingers crossed this goes ahead.
Several years ago we had to cancel days before our Sunwing vacation. We did eventually get our voucher for the full amount and we used it for the following year’s vacation. I can just imagine with Covid how many cancellations there have been in the last two years.

I have pretty much the same issue. They said that we could reschedule within a 12 month time frame of the original booked trip without losing our deposit. However I was not able to find anything in November as it seems to be that there is nothing available later than May 5th or so. I asked for an in-store credit for the deposit so that I can book once flights are available for November, but was turned down as I have to cancel since what I like to book is not available. The lady in the cancellation department said that they schedule only 6 months ahead. 1. May is way less than 6 months, there should be availability until July. 2. We booked or travel for March last year July or August. How is this 6 month? I feel as if they are a pack of liars! I would like to get an credit so that I can book for November. When they have availability 6 month ahead, I would even be okay that this expires in June or so - in the case that I wouldn't book even though there are vacation packages. I also had an issue with that price guarantee included. That had to be "enrolled" in within a week and was not pointed out at all. When the trip got a lot cheaper, that insurance was no longer available as well. Rip off- really! Nothing is "WORRY FREE", everything is hidden so nobody gets it at first sight. Shame on them, this was our first vacation we ever booked since 2000 and it feels like never trying it again as this looks as if this is my first and last time! Sad, as they came highly recommended! Me and a friend had a trip booked to Mexico, he got cold feet a few months ago and cancelled. I got 50% money back and 50% credit. Now my friend has decided he wants to go again, and they won't let me use the credit because it has my name on it! It is the same person who canceled before!

The reply I just received from Sunwing support: "I reached out to the refund team and they advised the refund is still pending with the credit card processer. Stay away! I am currently dealing with Sunwing on a vacation for the end of November to Grenada. They changed us to an air Canada flight and tried to add 820.00 to our bill and also cancelled the insurance at had already purchased saying it was no longer valid because we are flying with Air Canada now. They will not give me my Air Canada booking number so we cannot book our seats. I have called 4 times being put on hold for hours and emailed twice. Air Canada says we are not on the passenger roster. I think Sunwing is lying about the flight.. We also waited all thru the pandemic for a refund from them and they finally offered it at the end of June after all the other airlines had already done this. I wish I had asked for the refund. They have hundreds of unfiled job's as everyone is leaving sinking ship. They are not flying due to labor shortages therefore no income so they are using government hand out to survive. Next is step will be selling off Royalton resorts. TUI has offered a buy out few months ago but family said no. I'd say October is the date to say goodbye to Sunwing.

EDocs are not ready to print and we leave Nov 5. PC Travel booked our vacation and Sunwing is the provider of the flights and shuttles. They have not acknowledged receiving the payment PC Travel says and Sunwing says it’s not paid yet. Waiting due to employee shortage I think.
I submitted my request through my travel agent on June 25th. Still haven’t got my money back. When it was first announced they said 60 days, then 90. Now they are telling me 120 days. I was just about to book a sunwing vacation package as they were very low price for the same hotel across different providers (Air Can, West jet etc) but reading your comments....are people not booking with them? Wouldn't your $500 deposit be covered by credit card insurance if they folded?
