My luggage arrived damaged (wheel broken) and it's impossible to get through to them over the phone; tried twice, holding for an hour and another time holding for 50 minutes. Their customer service is non-existent. I am just perplexed how they claim to be the best carrier in Europe! I can't imagine service worse than this. Their in-flight service, food, and planes in general are good, but if anything goes wrong there is no where to turn to. I am a 1K United member who moved to the middle east and have been using Turkish for the last year (~8 flights thus far) and every time something went wrong, I could not get any help. My luggage was delayed (by a day and a half) couple times, flights were delayed couple times, once a flight was canceled. I am now reconsidering my options and choosing another carrier.

I need to make a simple date change to a business class ticket, I've tried to call 15 times, each time it takes more than 20 minutes for someone to answer, then they transfer me (another 20 minute hold)... Recently a group of 45 delegates were/(are being) harassed for there baggage by giving all mis information by airlines staff. 4 days over still many of us have not received baggage. Unethical practices being resorted to by officials of a reputed international Airlines. It is rediculous to not receive any baggage by any of 45 team members on arrival. Personnel are not hesitating to tell lies after lies at Delhi airport.

Their online service is highly fraudulent. Once you found the right flight with the right price, it shows an error message and ask to start again. No more the previous serch results, all tickets costs 100+ EUR during the restarted search.

I took the flight from Malaysia to Istanbul, my baggage had been delayed. When I back from Istanbul to Malaysia, my flight had been delayed for many hours without any reason given. What I request is a letter from Turkish Airline for those delay and I would like to make a claim from my personal travel insurance. Not even claim from Turkish Airline. But until today, it has been 2 months and NO any respond from them. I will say NO to this so call Europe best airline for its bad service. No next time.

We tried to book a flight to Tokyo with a stop in istanbul. At the end of the booking it said that the booking was unsuccesful and that we should try again - what we did. Anyways the booking didn't go through. The problem is that they still charged us the whole amount of money for both tries. We do not have a ticket booked on our name and everyone is telling us that we need to call another number or to fill out complaint forms online. The only thing we want is our money back! Did that happen to anyone else before?

Has anyone tried to call any Turkish airlines number in Houston as well as out of USA to Turkey. No answer just rings and rings. Otherwise "call back later message". I don't think I will be flying Turkish again. How can a business operate without one being able to speak to someone??

Turkish Airlines delayed the departure time BKK IST which made it impossible for me to catch my next flight from IST NBO. According to the ground staff at Bangkok airport, the delayed was an affect from yesterday's delay. I am not clear about the detail, and the detail doesn't matter here. The thing that matter was, why The airlines didn't contact the passenger about this news. This poor customer service had stained the reputation of Star Alliance. The ground staff tried to persuade me to take the delayed flight and stay overnight in IST so I can catch my flight the next day. But I had to reject that offer as I need to be in NBO the following day. Finally they agreed to transfer me to Kenya Airways, but I and to stay at the airport for 17 hours to wait for the next flight. No compensation what so ever. I will not fly Turkish Airlines or recommend that airlines to my colleagues.

I haven't flown them yet, but I will say navigating their website and contacting customer service was a challenge. The Good: Once I finally got someone to answer the phone, the representative couldn't have been more helpful or polite. She spoke excellent English, but with a strong accent that was a little hard to understand for someone with bad hearing like myself. Luckily, she seemed to understand me perfectly, despite my heavy chest cold and southern accent. She wasn't rushed and appeared sincerely desirous to do all she could to help me. She not only answered my question (I lost my reservation number), but without prompting she sent me a new copy of the e-ticket I had accidentally deleted, then asked if there was anything else I needed and ended up selecting a good seat for me, something I wasn't able to figure out how to do online. Maybe I just got lucky, but her attitude went a long way to allay the uneasy fear I had made a bad, bad mistake that grew stronger as I stayed on the interminable hold and read all the super bad reviews about TA customer service. The Bad: Wait time was very, very long. Hold music was extremely loud and annoying to my western ears. I called the 1 - 800 number about 7:30 PM CST. After an exhausting wait (nearly one and a half hours!) the phone was answered by a polite woman who briefly listened to my question, then immediately put me on hold and transferred me to "the call center." It was then another 25 minute wait before a rep finally answered who could help me. My advice: Be patient. VERY patient. The availability of "24 hour" customer service may be a bit overstated. Either call at a time that matches Turkey business hours, or be forearmed with a magazine or computer game and snacks and prepare for a long hold before you dial.

My baggage was lost by Turkish AIRLINE in December of 20113 during an international trip and I was given a reference number : IAHTK 10506 ; since then this airline has neither given back my baggage nor paid for the damage . This is the way Turkish Airline treat their coustomer as they claim ,THE BEST SERVICE. It is about three months since my baggage was lost by this airline!!!!!

It was the worst "Business" class flight I ever had. It was worse than almost every American/United/Delta/Continental/USAir flight I ever had. It was worse than EVERY non-US airline I have ever flown on, and I have flown on over 25 non-US airlines. Pathetic.

We were given a print out and 2 days we rang up and were told the luggage was in Turkey? The following day one piece was returned after they had told us to go to the airport and pick it up! We refused there offer and made them deliver but it is now 10 days later and nothing.... Filled out forms and rang every day......... The Best Airline in Europe ! What a Joke!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am disappointed with this airline. The air hostess was very rude, claimed she did not speak english. Would not answer my questions. They pulled my hand luggage from in-cabin and then moved it to the belly of the plane, without even asking me. In this bag, a regular hand luggage bag, had my kids medication. They would not listen to me. I begged and begged and she was not helpful at all. I felt discriminated upon as a black lady. She accepted a fellow passenger who is white but would not talk to me. Here I am 5 days after my trip and I have not gotten my luggage yet. I mean this is ridiculous, poor service and I am definitely not sure to encourage others to use this this airline. At least you should improve your customer service. If you want, I am so disappointed and would like this particular hostess to undergo some training.

I lost a baggage on Turkish airlines and filed a case but unfortunately theturkish airline staff did not pay interest j following up or at least revert back on any update though of several calls and emails to them. They showed no professionalism or respect to their clients. Also the request to the call center agent to escalate had no ears and the agents did cooperate at all. I wonder what this attitude came from?

I had a very terrible experince within this turkish airlines, on wensday septmber 4th i went to the tripoli tower, and i wanted to reserve 2 tickets to washington Dulles International Airport and this lady that had booked my ticket had stated that she booked it and she was like have a good flight but when I had gotten home I had realized that that stupid lady had gave me a ticket to toronto which is canada what the hell would I do in Canada? So i went back and told her that she made a mistake and she was like no is not my fault she said it was ours and she made us pay about 20 euro each ticket on top of that she also made us pay a difference So what I am complianing about is that that lady should be the one to pay for the 20 Euro each ticket because she is THE ONE WHO MADE THE MISTAKE. Also I am an american citizen which is why I know that people like that shouldn't be working at all with her type of attitude and the way she talks to customers. Also another complinat is that in June I had booked a ticket to tripoli and when they had sent me a driver to take us to the airport that stupid driver got lost on the way and he made us miss the flight, and then when I went and told the people in Istanbul they had told me that I needed to pay 800 dollars in US in order to get on another plane so my point is that this Turkish airline has bad treatment and I want my money back !!!!!!!! Also I won't ever recommend the turkish airlines to anyone out their because not only me everyone has bad experince and besides they take my money and yell at me right in front of you.

Welcome to the world of Turkish Airlines or THY (which I think actually stands for 'They Hate You'). My wife and I flew with them last Summer, and it was our first and most definitely our last Journey we will take with them. Endless delays (10 hours plus), cancelled flights, damaged luggage, and to top it all delivering us back to the wrong airport in the UK late at night with no offer of transport to get us back to where our car was parked (at our orginal departure airport). The staff are rude and ignorant, and in this whole sorry saga not one person actually said 'we are sorry'. As you have noted if you make a compaint and ask for compensation , the walls go up. Their first tactic is just simply to ignore you, if that doesnt work and you persist they make promises they never keep. After 6 months of constant emails, letters and phone calls to them we were offered....wait for it....the £40 pound bus fare we had to fork out to get us back to the airport they should have delivered us to in the first place, and for that princely sum we had to sign a contract to state we would not take any fruther action against them. If this had been a European airline bound by European charter, the compensation due would have been a four figure sum for the delays alone. they advertise themselves as a European airline, they aren't and do not adhere to European law. Lesson learn't NEVER AGAIN

WORST INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE EVER!!!! Had a horrifying experience where we were told that our luggage would be placed on a connecting flight (after we SPECIFICALLY asked if we needed to pickup our own luggage). When we arrived to our final destination, they never placed our luggage on the flight. You call customer service and you might as well be transferred to a wall. No one knows what their job is and no one can help, endless phone line transfers only to be transferred back to the original person who answered the line. What a joke!! When confronted, complete denial and no one assumes any responsibility for anything. They tell you to complete a form at customer service which is a fake setup because no one ever calls you to follow up. I have filled out two forms with customer service, once at the airport, and again on the Internet when I got home. They give you a fake "reference number" to pretend they are following up but there is never any resolution or customer service that contacts you back. The experience taught me that you should never book any flight with Turkish airlines no matter if it is a short connecting flight because the customer service is non existent. A real pathetic excuse for an international airline. My first experience with them will be my last. I make absolute sure to tell everyone especially on Trip Advisor about the nightmare experience I had with them. What a shame because the country is a beautiful place to visit but the airline absolutely does not have any clue on how to treat customers. I have tickets, emails (all initiated by me) reference numbers, phone bills, etc to prove my numerous attempts to get a satisfactory response or some sort of compensation for what happened and finally I have given up trying because I realized they just didn't care for their customers. I've learned my lesson with Turkish Airlines. Travel at your own risk!!!

Weak points: Delayed Lugagge. No one answers at the Lebanese office. You have to make a 30 min international phone call to change your flight. Good Point: Operators are professional and have a sense of curtesy sometimes.

ATROCIOUS AIRLINE - Do not believe 'The best Airline in Europe' hype. My advice, do not risk travelling with this airline. Just pay that bit extra for quality. Life is too short to spend hours on hold at a Turkish call centre… I flew with them in early January fr om London Gatwick to Khartoum via Istanbul. Despite a 4 hour layover in Istanbul they my bag didn’t arrive with me and has since been completely lost. I am appalled at the beyond incompetent system Turkish Airlines have in place to try and track down lost luggage. I have wasted hours of my life being shunted from call centre to call centre, office to office with no one able to do a thing to help. The communication between the international offices and the airports appears practically non-existent. I have had to push at every turn to try and track down the bag, otherwise nothing would have been done. On a basic level they didn’t even have the correct bag description, despite me telling a dozen different people this a dozen different times. Every individual I have spoken to has been nice but ineffective and in some cases I am not convinced that their English was competent enough to understand what I was trying to tell them. Even now, they have apparently ‘closed my file’ because the bag has been delivered… Delivered WH ERE!? I don’t have it! It is still lost somewhere in the world. Normally I wouldn’t pursue a lost bag to this extent but I was travelling for work reasons and the items of the bag are fairly unique and technical and have taken me years to collect.

My family and I were traveling from Tehran to Los Angeles on Turkish Airline connecting in Istanbul. Once we landed in Istanbul we rushed through the terminal and the over-crowded security to get to our far-placed gate. Once there, they were still boarding people, however, when it was our turn, they said the boarding was over. After much pleading with them to be allowed into our flight at no avail, we asked to be put into the next flight. However, they charged us additional fees. Even then, they said the next available seats would be two days later. We requested to receive hotel accommodations for our two nights stay but they did not offer any. We had to store our luggage that they took out of our connecting flight in the airport, get our own transportation to the city, and find our own hotel. We believe Turkish Airline is at fault for us missing our flights since they scheduled this connection and the gate such that making this connection for all passengers was virtually impossible. They know the security waits at Istanbul airport and should schedule accordingly. There was no special incidences during our check that delayed us any longer than others. There was no special accommodation for passengers with short connection times such as us. While waiting in security line, we even approached the Turkish Airlines personnel multiple times and pointed out to them that we have a short connection time and all they said was not to worry and that the gate staff will accommodate us.

One suitcase Tag no: TK278316 reached Dhaka but the other two(02) are untrace able. I went to the Airport 3 times checking all flights coming in from Istanbul, but unfortunately two (02) of my suitcases are still missing. None of your Airline staff have any clue to what happen to the two (02)suitcases. I would like to know what I should do next? No matter what happens I want my suitcases back because it contains valuable and priceless gifts . Waiting for an positive reply. Thanks once again
