Yesterday, 11 April 2016, I flew from Budapest to Tokyo via Istanbul. Had several hundred EUR stolen from my luggage and everything was a mess inside it. Is there anything I can do? Its more a problem of trust at this point. How can we feel ok, knowing that when we fly, there will be someone going through your personal belonging?
The quality of compaining here is suspect. A childish kind of whining. I have flown Turkish Airlines 6 times from California to Vienna Austria without a single problem. While many of their flight attendents suffer from a kind of curious and misguided superiority complex, their service has been splendid. Now, here's what MAY be the problem: When something does go wrong, they're either responsive ...or they are not. If any airline fails to follow through with commitments...you boycott that airline forever. If they have failed with enough passengers, they will collapse and go out of business. From what I can see, they're no worse than United Airlines, who have mastered the art or rudeness, indifference and lost-luggage! Turkish Airlines have also, consistantly, kicked everybody's * on prices.

In our flight from LAX to Istanbul, several items were stolen. Avoid Turkish Airline! Yes avoid flying THY because all my savings totaling $8800 was stollen on Turkish Airlines flight 0062 from Kul to Istanbul. I still suffer from trauma. We have also experienced stealing our belongings while travelling I Turkey. So I honestly dislike using THY and going there. You better off not denying past experiences.

И кресла удобные, и покормили хорошо, не смотря на то, что перелет недолгий, и обслуживание - на высшем уровне, - все-таки, два часа полета для ребенка непросто выдержать. I lost my baggage travelling from Stockholm to Istanbul on September 15,2015.Turkish Airlines is the last airline to travel.They have no regards.My flight/date was TK 1794/15 sep 2015.Tag number.TO 964664.It took me about three months to get claim approved. However I had lost baggage bought in Euros and Swedish kroner and claimed on lower side.Turkish Airlines informed me that USB 700 had been sanctioned for payment in Pakistan for which I will be paid in local currency (Pakistani)and rate of rupee as it was on September 15. I wrote to them that you should pay me in USA since my baggage was purchased in foreign currency.They are not responding now since one month only asking me to contact local office.It is not fair. I must at least be paid in foreign currency Please help

I was travelling by Air Canada with my family including 3 kids. Air Canada was operated by Turkish Airline fr om Istanbul to Pakistan. While traveling to Pakistan I had to stay about 11 hours at Istanbul airport we were not given hotel to stay, the behaviour of Air Canada and Turkish airlines agents was rude, insulting and non informative. On my return from Islamabad(Pakistan) to Canada on Jan 14th, 2016 via Flight No AC6711 operated by TK 711. Flight was delayed which resulted delay arrival at Istanbul and hence connecting flight AC811 missed. Here starts real nightmare of my life. My family with small kids had to spent 30 hours at airport without Hotel, Turkish Airlines denied to provide Hotel because our Canadian Passports were not valid for 6 months(It does not make sense, we did not come to stay in Turkey otherwise we would have 6 months valid passports, we were stuck because of delay flight by Turkish Airline). About 7 hours we were kept waiting for new tickets at a place wh ere there was no water and food and no shops to buy. My small kids were starving and thirsty. From 10:30 AM till 10:30 PM we were treated like animals and everybody at Turkish Help Desk tried to cheat and get rid of us, they cheated to provide us Airport Hotel but later after 3 hours wait said Airport Hotel is fully booked. My family with small kids is ruthlessly humiliated and mentally tortured, I humbly request everybody never travel through Turkey, people at the Airport are unfriendly, rude, unprofessional, cheater and dishonest. I saw lot of people over there in trouble. No body was helping them. I made a footage of a lady who fell in front of Turkish Help Desk and became unconscious.
Worst experience ever! When I arrived at Cairo from Istanbul and went to receive my baggage with great dissapointment I have to say that the Turkish Airlines (member of Star Alliance) wasn't capable to transfer my luggage from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Cairo (Egypt). I tried many times to call to the offices in Greece but with no luck. Nobody answered even my calls. I was for 3 weeks without the necessary things that every human being and traveler has the right to have. No one in the airport explained me my legal rights and the way you will remunerate me for the lost of the baggage. My experience has no end...

Worst time of my life flying with Turkish airlines!!! I travalled to Bangladesh from Manchester on 01-01-16. It started of with delay at Manchester, delay in Turkey which meant I missed my connected flight in Bangladesh, non refundable. Great! On the way back flight changed missed connecting flight to Manchester and had to get visa to leave airport as flight next day cost of £100 for 3 of us. I was traveling with my wife and 10 month old son. On the plane no aympathy I had a child and needed a widow or seat at the front of the plane. Response 'ask someone to swap with u if they don't nothing we can do'! Staff are racist tooo...! Please pay that little bit extra and go with another airline, trust me it will be worth it. Turkish Airlines are- lying, cheating, fraudulant, bullying and worst customer service in the world.... I hope they go bankrupt soon. The world will be better place!!!!!😡😡😡😡😤😤😤😤😤😤
Never fly Turkish Airlines !!! They cheat and lie in all matter. by rebooking we had to sleep in Istanbul but first we had to buy visa and leave the airport outside. The desk told us we could refund our visa at the website but again the were lying, it is not possible. When I called helpdesk they didn't even recognize my ticket, so I lost one day and 125,= dollar extra. I NEVER FLY AGAIN WITH TURKISH AIRLINES !
i travelled through turkish airline on the 18th jan.and they lost my bag completely. they delivered me someone else's bag and gave my bag to someone. i returned that bag right away but haven't gotten my bag back yet.i had so many important stuff in there. more of anything i had my dead grand father momories in there which is priceless for me.i am so upset. i would never travel through turkish again and will tell people about it too. make me cry everytime i think about it

Does anyone know how to get refund from Turkish Airline? I have ticket with T class flew from Frankfurt to Taipei, and on the 31st of January H class to Manchester, I called them for asking refund due to I can't go Manchester. And they said my ticket is not refundable, but I checked on the website, both T and H class are refundable. Could somebody help me???

I had a similar experience with Turkish Airlines. My flight was delayed for no obvious reason and I missed my connecting flight to London. They boarded me on a later flight. By the time, I arrived at London, I missed my train. I had to purchase a new ticket. I wrote to Turkish Airlines for compensation of my ticket, however, I received no response from them. I even filled out the feedback form, but no use. I have decided with my wife to avoid Turkish Airlines as much as possible.
Also lost two checked-in bags because of default TA. Customer service service not present. Don't fly turkisch airlines!!!!!
on Thursday December 17th 2015, I boarded a plane from JFK to Istanbul flight number TK12. Due to no obvious reasons the flight was delayed. As a result i missed my connecting flight from Istanbul to Nigeria and missed my wedding. For which Turkish Airline showed no empathy or sympathy for. A 13 hour journey turned into a 36 hour journey. I finally arrived on December 18th 2015.To make matters worse when i arrived in Abuja my luggage did not. I filed a report and my irregularity report number was ABVMS13306. After 8 long days of constantly calling, emailing, and Turkish Airline telling me they were not the responsible for locating my bag, I get a phone call telling me that my luggage was indeed in Istanbul and went missing while in care of Turkish airline. Since then i have sent several emails about compensation and have not heard back in 5 days. I also emailed about how to retrieve my l and did not get a response. As a result i had to purchase a ticket on my own to go retrieve my luggage for which i am requesting compensation for ( 35 thousand Naira) in addition to the other items i had to purchase to survive while in Nigeria. Now the same issue has happened again. My returning flight on January 3rd 2016 was also delayed and as a result i missed my connecting flight again and the same exact thing happened again. After several hours of waiting for the next flight I finally boarded flight and landed in JFK on Monday January 4th 2016. Upon my arrival i find out that my bags did not arrive either. At this point i believe i should be fairly compensated for the trouble that Turkish Airline has put me through. My whole vacation was ruined, what was suppose to be the happiest day of my life was ruined my homecoming which should have been a relief was not what it was. Now it has been 11 days and still no word on my missing luggages. This airline has ruined flying for me, my level of anxiety has gone off the charts.
TK is the worst airline ever. In 3 weeks they have managed to lose my luggage twice. Just shameful!!!!
Lost luggage at Ataturk airport after the direct flight Chicago-Istanbul. After a week it is still lost, Turkish Airlines does not know where it is. TA is the rudest, impolite, arrogant and incompetent ground staff ever. The luggage was probably stolen, but still, it is TA responsibility to cover for the damage.

My son arrived in Heathrow 3 Jan 2016 having transited from Istanbul and is still waiting for his bag to be delivered (12 Jan today). Turkish airlines gives it to Global Baggage who then gives it to City Bags. Global baggage and City bags websites all have email addresses and telephone numbers. Citybags put you on hold for ages with no pick up (45 mins and one hour --had to give up) and definitely no email response. Global bags picks up in a blue moon and tells you the bag is with City bags "call them" (did that. never any pick up). Then "go into City bags tracker "which does not get updated so you cant see beyond receipt of luggage into City bags. For some reason Global baggage who passes the luggage onto City bags is reluctant to call them for co-ordination."Just email them (did that too -several times, no response). Its day 10 and totally unreasonable that Turkish Airlines outsources to City Bags who do not provide enough information for passengers with lost luggage. No matter what, the luggage got lost with Turkish Airlines and it is responsible for making sure the passenger receives back the bag before saying case closed as soon as the luggage passes onto Global Baggage, who also say they've done their part once it outsources to City Bags . If City bags cant deliver within a reasonable time, why cant it allow the passenger to pick up the luggage himself which we offered to do?? Turksih Airlines is obviously not operating with responsibility towards its passengers. As other passengers have highlighted, appalling service/follow up ---much to be desired.

We (family of four) checked in at LHR to fly to Johannesburg. We produced our Passports and were issued four Boarding Passes after checking in our luggage. We arrived in Istanbul and an hour or so later were ready to board the plane for Johannesburg. We were told we could not board the plane as one of our children who is under 18 needed to produce his Birth Certificate along with his Passport. It was explained to us that this was a South African requirement. We explained that not only we didn't know anything about this, no one at the Turkish Airways desk told us either as we checked in LHR. Had they done so we would have had time to rush home and get the Birth Certificate. We had to stay a night in Istanbul, pay for four entry visas (British Passports) and managed to get the flight the following night with a lot of help from friends in London sending us a copy of the BC. On eventual arrival in Johannesburg two of our checked in luggage were lost. We had to wait another 24 before we were united with our bags before we could start our holiday. Since returning to the UK, I've been trying to get Turkish Airline to return my calls but no luck. Does anyone know how to get compensation out of Turkish Airways, please?

It has been 4 days, we are contacting the Baggage Tracking from Frankfurt but they keep on telling us the same thing. They say that we will get an SMS when the baggages are coming!? We ask them if they know wh ere the baggages are in Istanbul or in some other country and they don't even give us a definite answer...? My kids started school on Monday and can't concentrate on their lessons because of is situation. This is our worst TK experience. Willing that they take his seriously. Any luck yet?

My journey started in Shiraz on the 1st jan16. I was supposed to fly to london via Istanbul and the flight was delayed for 5 hours due to bad weather. I missed my connecting flight and I was booked on an alternative one. When we finally made it to Istanbul with my two young children I was told that my flight was cancelled. I had to que up for 10 hours with my children, I couldn't even leave the que to take them to the toilet as I didn't want to lose my place. We were finally booked on the flight the next day to manchester but our bags never made it. I keep contacting the airport and I get the same reply. This is an appauling level of service from Turkish airlines.
My last experience with Turkish airline was extremely disappointing. I had a connecting flight through Istanbul on 31Dec 2015, which was delayed for almost 2 days. The first flight had 8 hours of delay, which was because of the weather condition, so understandable even though it was annoying. What was not acceptable was the Turkish airline service in Istanbul. Firstly, there was no one in the airport to tell you what you have to do. After waiting in line for 2 hours at the Turkish transfer desk, we understood this is the wrong place and we have to pass the check passport and rebook our tickets on the other side. Every one else like us was in line there for basically nothing, and they did not know it until the last minute when it was their turn. Then we went to the right place, where sadly we saw a very very very long line of people waiting to rebook. We stood in the line for 9 hours! I am not kidding, we were standing for 9 hours! And after we got our tickets they told us we have to stand in another line to get the hotel. This is unbelievable! We went there, and the line was so long, at it was already 11PM so we decided life is too short! We went directly to a hotel and paid for it ourselves. The day after finally we had our flight to Amsterdam. Just when you think this the end, you are very wrong! My luggage never made it. I reported the lost luggage and heard nothing until now. I called Turkish airline, and the guy told me I should go back to Amsterdam airport and find your Luggage in the storage myself! He said: We have too many lost luggages and we cannot sort it out quickly! Such a mess! This would have never happened with the other airlines I flew before. This is a real example of disorganisation, and poor management! It is something to have problems due to the weather, it is another thing to be so disorganised and customer unfriendly!

We are still waiting our luggages from 1 Jan. The plane from Venice via Istanbul to Mombasa was in delay due bad weather conditions. Nobody are giving us informations about the situation. 4 days of delay is a shame
I think were all quick to condemn and vilify Turkish airlines, when something goes wrong. My flight due to leave the uk Manchester to chisinau via instambul on 31 Dec 2015 was delayed by 2 days, due to the inclement weather, which is outside the control of any airline. Naturally I was upset at this, however Turkish airlines put me up in hotel, provided me with breakfast and diner for 2 nights and 2 days, the hotel itself was 4 star, I also recieved a voucher to spend in duty free, as well as free taxi service to and from the hotel and to the airport. I returned to the checkin on the 2 January 2016, my luggage was well over the recommended allowance, and they also waived the charge for me. We left Manchester 2 late and arrived in instambul just in time for the 19.25 /?02 01 2016 connection to chisinau. On arrival at chisinau, I as well as other passengers didn't receive our luggage, the staff at chisinau airport informed us to fill in the forms and try calling within 24 to 48 hours to see if there was any update. Today I recieved a call from the chisinau airport staff to say our luggage was here here and it will be delivered to my house. And within 4 hours it was here . And just to summarise , yes Turkish airlines, I will be using you again, your service is excellent , I don't care what others say !!!!! Turkish airlines simply the best 👍👍👍👍

I too am waiting for my luggage from instambul to chisinau , 02,jan 2015 we boarded our flight from instambul around 19.25 and arrived in chisinau around 21.40, waited in the baggage reclaim area , there were many passengers who luggage had not come through, we all had to fill in a baggage Iregulatory report, and were advised to call back on the 03/04 Jan 2016, as of yet no positive news,

I came from San Francisco to istanbul with turkish airlines delayed over 3 hours, missed my turkish airline flight to Chisinau because of the flight from SFO. Supervisor told me its my fault and i should pay a fine. What a * joke. Worst customerservice ever, i bought new ticket and hotel. Now its time to check how to get the money back plus more.
Man turkish airport is a nightmare! I wish I could give them a elementary lesson in customer support! turkish airlines delayed our flight and old people/children had to spend in the airport without proper food/support. even though they delayed you had to pay for your own visa!! and if you dont have a credit card you are doomed. Not providing night stay facilities for 82 year old , 75 year old and all over 60 senior passengers when it Airlines mistake. not even providing them with food or any assistance as they knew the passengers had hard time in understanding the language and making them understand. No remorse to the elderly and suffering they had to have for their mistake. Don't * your time and never travel by this Airlines. Big Mistake which i will never repeat!!!!!!!!!
