Just got off the phone. we had trip cancelation insurance. last week we were told by rep Ruthie we would get a full refund and would be processed in 3 to 5 business days. WELL today we were told NO only credit for a 2 year period..WTF..i am not working now cause of everything that is going on around the world. Initially they offer FUTURE Travel Credits/Vouchers which become WORTHLESS as a company goes Bankrupt. If they tell you wait 30 days they are just holding off paying you what they owe you. We were supposed to fly out April 28/20 .Not happening Im just worried they will go bankrupt Don't accept a voucher as Sunwing has a reputation of terms & conditions on their voucher such as must be used within a certain period (such as 90 days or ???), or must be used at a specific hotel or specific time of year or ???. Sure the voucher may be $200. but for sure there will be strict conditions on that voucher such as a mandatory upgrade or only may be used for excursions or used towards a spa or a la cart restaurant or Sunwing may be bankrupt - who knows. Don't delay on the action you choose.

My STRONG suggestion would be to contact the Credit Card Co & ask what they would do. Perhaps in this case the Credit Card Co will NOT send your payment to Sunwing or call Sunwing and say to Sunwing, would you like me to call the Credit Card Co or would you like to provide me with a refund TODAY. Whatever you do, please let us know the results as there are of course hundreds & hundreds of people in your position. Sunwing owes me a small amount and told us to wait for 30 days. They owe me the small amount, there is no question about that whatsoever but I won't know anything until the 30 days they told me I had to wait & they could be bankrupt by that time.

Joann Duce : I have been trying to use the Sunwing mobile check for the past 3 hours and I have had no luck. They tell you that you can check in 12 hrs before your flight but apparently that is not true. Guest Andrew : Sunwing works in partnership with other booking parties to de-fraud customers with deceptive fees and cancellation policies. We are currently going through an issue with them and I am very seriously considering taking them to court over these practices. I believe a CLASS ACTION over deceptive pricing strategies and policies is in order. If you have the documents for the Sunwing complaints you mention, I am sure you won't have problems with a Class Action. As you read the comments on this www link you are not alone with complaints against Sunwing.
Sunwing is suspending all southbound flights between March 17th and April 9th. Customers are eligible to receive a refund in the original method of payment or a future travel credit. Customers who opt for a travel credit will receive an additional $100 per person to be used towards a future booking.
Do not accept Credit notes from Sunwing. You are entitled to Cash Refunds according to an official on the Radio. If Sunwing does not offer cash, go directly to your Credit Card Co and DISPUTE the charge. You will need to copy your booking and provide it to the Credit Card Co. Do not wait as who knows if Sunwing will go bankrupt. Accepting a credit for future travel will be worthless if Sunwing goes bankrupt.

I am booked for Cuba March 26 and prior to booking the only other week I was considering was Oct 22 and with all this chaos going on I tried to change my trip to the second date and the same flight on Feb 23 was $894 per person (this is their down season) and with all the chaos it went up to $1300!!!!!!!! And they want $100 per person so it’s going to cost me $2,000 for my family tot reschedule? Ill take my losses then feed those greedy bastards.

I am due to fly to Dominican Republic from Halifax, NS on Monday 16th March. We can’t get speak with anyone due to your phone issues. Canadian government policy says we shouldn’t travel, so what do you recommend ? Why haven’t you contacted customers to make us aware of options?
