Hi Paul We are currently experiencing a number of delays on flights leaving Abu Dhabi during the start of the busy Eid holiday season. Our airport teams are continuing to work hard, alongside our partners, to ensure that the delays are kept to a minimum. This year’s peak summer travel period has also seen instances where guests’ baggage has been delayed and Etihad Airways apologises for this unfortunate inconvenience. All efforts will be taken to ensure the baggage is reunited with their owners. Additional manpower has been assigned to the airport and we will continue to ensure that we get our guests to their destinations in a swift, safe and efficient manner. During this extremely busy period, Etihad Airways will carry approximately 30,000 guests and process an average of 40,000 pieces of baggage through its Abu Dhabi hub daily. Passengers can check the status of their flight on the Etihad Airways website at www.etihad.com or call the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 (0) 2599 0000 for more information on the latest status of their flights. *Gill Paul : Dear Etihad In this age of technology, Advanced Passenger info, and mobile phones, It would not be impossible for you to send out a blanket email or text to all the customers who have completed claims in order to reassure and placate us so we have contacts, and understanding the problem that has taken place. There is obviously a major issue with baggage handling at Abu Dhabi. Reassure us that you're fixing this and give us a realistic time frame when to expect some sort of result or findings from you. This is called customer service. Ignoring everybody and burying your head in sand doesn't help, nor build confidence in you for the future. please respond and let us know the issue, and the solution. You owe it to us all.

Additional manpower has been assigned to the airport and we will continue trace the baggage and update *Gill Guest : Hi I’m stranded in Johannesburg with no bags. We have the clothes we are standing in. This safari trip was a 30th wedding anniversary present to my wife. I even flew us business class as a treat. Took me a year to save up for it. My present to her is in the bags. We’ve lost our booking now in Zimbabwe for Victoria Falls as we couldnt get the connecting flight as we only had the clothes on our back. Safari is now cancelled as we have no clothes to do it in. We should have left yesterday but couldn’t. My wife prescribed medication runs out tonight. ( we had 2 weeks worth in the bags) Hotel we are in is full tomorrow so we are having to look for another locally , but due to several conferences taking place, we will have to move further out. Im actually looking at cutting the trip short now and flying home in the next day or 2 as my wife is so upset. I’ve given up calling Bidair, the baggage people at the airport. I have 40 logged calls with them over the last 24 hours on 7 available numbers which they have consistently failed to answer or hang up before speaking. This is shameful Ive complained to etihad through the web portal, but , 20 hrs on have not even received an acknowledgement. This is shameful To have a technical problem at Abu Dhabi is acceptable and happens To ignore its customers in this way is disgraceful Shame on you Etihad, shame on you.

Worst airline I have ever experienced. Lost my baggage while transit from Abu Dhabi on 3rd july. Fraud airlines sold my ticket to someone else on high price and giving me excuse of overbooking. After 8 hours of arguments they provided me ticket from Abu Dhabi to Delhi. At Delhi airport on 4 july I could not get my luggage. No never not at all ever Etihad. I request everyone please better to go by walk but never believ Etihad. Etihad never cares about passengers planning and scedule. They can easily sell your confirm ticket to others on high price. I filed PIR at Delhi airport got this number 9871337112 for further update of missing baggage. Calling this number since two days but either number is busy or no body pick the call.

When I arrived on EY604 at Johannesburg yesterday there were 30 people without baggage. .Abu Dhabi appears to have gone into meltdown. Almost the entire business class cabin. Wonder how much business class business Etihad have lost in the last 96 hrs, judging by the comments here. I dont think their award for the best business class will be finding another on its shelf any time soon. The claims guy at the airport said the max compensation able to be claimed from the airline is 70 Euros per bag. I for one am going to serve legal papers on their office in London when I get back. Lets see what the claims court make of 70 Euros.

They dont have any baggage information they do not answer the phone number they gave me to cal for status. And I have no clue what happened with my 4 checked in bags. Worst airline to travel ever - Etihad!!! Abhinand : I travelled by Etihad from Riyadh on 3rd July via Abu Dhabi to Chennai. But in Chennai I found that my baggage is missing. We lodged a complaint and it was informed that they will get back via phone. They provided me with a PIR form passenger copy. And also their customer care numbers. But no response from them yet. I've been continuously trying to reach them but no response. Kindly help me in getting it. Any way to reach their mobile numbers? If any knws plz help me. Ramprasad : Hi, I traveled fr om Chennai (MAA) to Edinburgh (EDI) yesterday. It has been 24 hours since I arrived and 7 of our checked in baggage has still not arrived. The tracker website is displaying 'TRACING CONTINUES. PLEASE CHECK BACK LATER'. I need to atleast know if the baggade is not arriving today and when it will arrive and wh ere is it at present. There is no answer at the number provided in the contact section. EDIEY12087 is my PIR Don't hold your breath, I was on the same flight and also lost a case, I phoned 0871 2887354 and gave them tracking number and they told me it would be delivered today and gave me the number of the courier company, but you are in a queu 25 minutes so far and no answer. Facebook should get a response, ironically we lost one on the way out and FB worked.

I flew fr om BLR-EDIN on July 2nd and my bag has gone missing! I am appalled at the quality of customer service provided by Etihad,an airline that prides itself at being one of the best in the world. When alerted to my missing baggage at the airport, I was told that my baggage would be delivered the next day and I was not even given a tracking number as stated in your policy on your website. When the baggage did not arrive, I emailed the customer service who have refused to reply to me. Finally I have had to contact you on fb wh ere after 2 days, you say I will receive my baggage in 48-72 hours. I am a student who has several important deadlines and have important belongings in my luggage. I barely received any information from etihad, and have been offered no compensation and instead have to spend valuable time trying to find my luggage.

I boarded from Chennai to Abu dhabi in EY 271 and from Abu Dhabi to Bahrain in EY 379 on 01 July 2016.I lost my baggage and I registered a complaint in Bahrain. Its been 4 days and every time I am going to Airport to enquire about the lost baggage.Etihad airlines replied that Concern Staff is on leave.I am highly disappointed with your services. This is the way you treat your passenger. And I want to know my baggage status. The website to track baggage is showing 'No matches found'.I called customer care and each person telling different stories. Can Etihad people consider passenger also instead of money.

I had been a frequent flyer from Abu Dhabi to COK for the past few years. The recent incident forcefully asks to reconsider travelling through Etihad. I had total 7 baggages for my family and had paid extra for the excess baggage of 2 kg Which had been notified additional while check in. Now it is almost 5 days and I no trace of one of my valuable bag and no proper update from the Etihad staff....it really annoying as I have to travel back in couple of days and still following up for the missing bags...! Etihad had totally spoiled my faction trip. Being one of the prestegious air lines of Abu Dhabi I never except such issues.

Hi Etihad, Let me first congratulate you on royally messing up baggages of so many passengers and then showing completely uncaring attitude towards Indian passengers. This is my last flight with Etihad and I would discourage my friends from doing so. For last 2 days, I have been waiting to get my bag but no one has called so far. No one is picking up the phone.

I have the same problem, I have not received one of my baggages till now. Travelled from Chennai to Cincinnati on 2-Jul-2016 through Abu Dhabi and Chicago I am trying to call the baggage services team in chennai, Abudhabi and Chicag to know the status of my baggages. Nobody is picking the call. I sent email to baggageclaims@etihad.com, response for two days now. I don't know the status as I am not able to contact Etihad by any means to know the status of my baggage. I am so irritated on Etihad being unresponsive to their customers. This would be my last time to travel in Etihad only due to poor customer service.

Hi guys, flew Etihad and then AirBerlin from Saigon to Berlin Tegel via Abu Dhabi on 1/2 July 2016 with my two small children and four bags, none of which have made it to TXL. No one cares to do anything about it, completely blasé is everyone I speak to and nothing much is happening to resolve this untenable situation. Unfortunately, I have a return flight in about 8 weeks with AirBerlin and Etihad but am seriously considering rebooking. The shittiest service on flight I have ever experienced and what happens now with the luggage is simply unbelievable. Is Etihad going to actually say anything about this or is this a case of we've got your money from the tickets now just shut up? Hugely disappointed, will fly Emirates again in the future.

Is there any upd ate on my compliant?? Mr. GILL may I ask you for a feedback Please. ANILKUMAR : Etihad Airways : Dear ANILKUMAR Can you please provide us with your case number, we will certainly look into this and ask our case officer to contact you with a reply. Please accept our apologies for this delay, we hope to hear back from you soon to assist further *Gill Please note the case No: 407760 I had provided all the details. Will someone from Etihad kindly take a note of it and resolve my case? ANILKUMAR : Dear Etihad, I had filed a complaint on your website for damaged baggage on 6th December 2015. While I had provided all the details within 7 days of flight, the your staff has taken their own sweet time of 4 months to review my case. After untiring follow up, in the month of May, my plea was heard and I was assured of a payment towards my claim. I had provided my bank details in the claim settlement form on 1st May 2016. I wish to inform that Till date, I am yet to receive any payment. Upon following up with the customer care, I am told that the payment is already made on 10th May 2016 and the case stands closed. However, there is no credit made to my account which I mentioned in the claim se ttlement form. I have offered to send my bank statement and in return I have asked the airlines to send me the credit invoice/cheque but NO feedback. It is astonishing that the airlines which aspires to be one of the leading brand in the world has such an indifferent attitude, awful customer care staff. My case is going on for more than 5 months and I am not sure what lies ahead of me. Can someone please please look into the matter and help me out please..

However, there is no credit made to my account which I mentioned in the claim settlement form. I have offered to send my bank statement and in return I have asked the airlines to send me the credit invoice/cheque but NO feedback. On arrival on flight EY41/01st July may checked in bag failed to make the flight. On reporting my missing bag I was not provided with a copy of my PIR or a file reference number. When I eventually suceeded in making contact with the baggage handling agent in Dublin, they were of no help. They had no information on my bag and did not provide me with any advice on what my next steps should be. I found the level of customer service zero. I eventually got a file reference number by contacting another airport who retrieved my file reference using my tag number. I email Edihad customer Services on Friday 01st July and as yet I have not received a response I am very concerned and disappointed that three days later there is no sign of My bag and to be quite honest I believe that neither Edihad or their handling agent in Dublin care whether my bag or anyone else's is retrieved. I have now bought necessities but my concerns are that all my precious belongings I was bringing on my holidays my never be reunited with me. I am worried and frustrated by the lack of effort by Edihad and their handling agent and to be honest my holiday has been ruined.

We flew from Stockholm to Tokyo via Abu Dhabi. When we arrived at Narita airport we got informed that our 2 bags were still in Abu Dhabi and that they would arrive to our apartment here in Tokyo the next day. During this time we have only been able to be in contact with Narita, who says that Abu Dhabi claims to have sent the bags already. Altough they started to claim this on June 30th when we arrived, but not until today one of our bags actually arrived to Narita. So one of our bags is still in Abu Dhabi, according to Narita. This is all very confusing, but the only one who have been in contact with us is Narita. Etihad say that they can't help us. So what should we do?

Rishi Lalwani : The airline is lacking accountability in that the number provided by them nor the E-mail address is being attended to. A colleague and I were travelling fr om Rome to Mumbai via Abu Dhabi and have lost 3 baggage pieces. Apart from containing branded clothes, expensive jackets and gift items from Europe for friends and family , it contains electronics including hard disk drives with years and years of data, photographs from family trips et al. Etihad - wh ere is the accountability and assurance tostand up and tell your customers that atleasr there is all effort to find our luggage. In such times, the least you could do is keep the Information leg continuous by answering calls and emails. High time you do that lest some of our customers take up this matter legally am through the media. Hi Rishi, This year’s peak summer travel period has also seen instances wh ere guests’ baggage has been delayed and Etihad Airways apologises for this unfortunate inconvenience. All efforts will be taken to ensure the baggage is reunited with their owners. Thank you for your patience. *Jiaqi
