We took our granddaughter to Lapland in December 2016. There was a 12 hour delay for the return flight due to an aircraft fault. The tour company(surprisingly) quickly paid us compensation. About 70% of what we were entitled to. Small planet quickly agreed to pay me the rest in January 2017 and it would be paid by June. June came and went...no money. It still hadn't been paid by January of this year. Someone on Facebook told me to go to Aviation ADR(Alternative Dispute Resolution for Aviation) for help. Small Planet is registered with them. They told me my complaint was valid and they would take it on. Small Planet paid up this week. ADR's website is here: www.aviationadr.org.uk You can register a complaint by clicking on New Complaint>Make Online Complaint/Download a Paper Complaint Form. If, like me, Small Planet has already agreed to pay, but hasn't, when you get to the question: "Did They Reject Your Complaint", answer, "No" otherwise you can't proceed any further. I think that without ADR's help, I would still be waiting.

After unsuccessfully trying to get compensation from Small Planet I took my claim through aviationadr.org.uk It took about 3 months altogether but I have now received full payment from the airline. Aviation ADR assigns a named handler to your case and takes you through each step. Very efficient and successful.

I have finally been paid the agreed ˆ800 from September 2016. Won claim by going through CAA authority agreed to pay in January the full ˆ800 after being offered 400 then 600 held out to get the 800 but after the ridiculous amount of time 20 weeks they agreed to pay in nothing I took it to the ADR after going through all the same info again and about another 2 months I finally got money in bank today. Never give up that’s my motto.

I have just received my compensation after a year of constant emails. First they said it would be paid within 13 weeks... Then it would be a further 5_7 weeks....then they would mark it with urgent and would be paid within 3 weeks. I had given up hope but as they said 3 weeks later it was paid in. Took just over a year altogether but did get it eventually so keep emailing ....don't give up and they will pay up in the end.

Seventeen months this has taken but to all of you who are waiting don't give up and keep pestering them. I resorted to sending same e-mail every day and this has had the desired effect. Don't give up that's what they want you to do. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, there is hope.

I will not give up and have resorted to sending same e-mail mail every day. Here's hoping I will get a result soon. Absolutely appalling customer service, surprised they havnt gone bankrupt. Guest : Hi - Keep going. It took me just over 1 year to get the compensation for my son and his 3 friends for a flight that was delayed over 25 hours. I got the CAA involved and they agreed that the compensation was due. Despite this Small Planet still held off. I just kept emailing on a weekly basis and told them that I would make a claim through the European Courts. The only advice I can give is for you to let them know that you will not go away. They rely on the fact that the majority of people give up. It definitely worked for me - Good luck! I have gone through Resolver in my fight for compensation for a six hour delay from Zante last August. They agreed a settlement 17 weeks ago and I, like others are still waiting. I have sent them emails through Resolver threatening legal action!! Resolver have been a very useful tool and have done everything for me so I am waiting to see what happens. They got in touch with the Hellianic aviation authority as well and once they were involved things moved along very quickly. If I am in the process of getting in touch with them again. Guest : Hi I am still waiting for replies from Small Planet following flight delays, Rhodes August 2016. My disgust is also with Olympic Holidays who boldly advertise/partnership using this Airline for their package holidays but have no interest in the poor service delivered by SPA. Their representation in Rhodes last year was poor to say the least and not honest. The issues at the time were clearly in the news headlines but when asked about flight delays they said would be minimal. Actually nine hours delay. I have corresponded with them, but they reiterate they cannot help and we have to deal with the Airline. Who do not respond to emails. When you actually get to speak to someone they cant find your claim and state it's in the queue. I would avoid Olympic Holidays and SPA in the future. Keep us updated if you get any compensation.

I have been trying to receive my claim from August 2016. I involved the CAA ombudsman early on and Small planet accept and agreed the compensation, after 6 months I received an email asking for bank details, which I sent , then received an email advising the details were not international so I got this from the bank. I sent these details 2 months ago amd by their standards I reckon I have 6 months to wait for the next communication. These people are clearly hoping folks die before the claims are paid out. Never again and bad on Olympus holidays for continuing to use them, never booking with them again.

Guest : I flew to Skiathos with small planet on Friday 19th June and returned on Friday 26th June. Our outbound flight was changed twice (once from 6am to 11am then finally to 1.30pm) this is a joke as me and my boyfriend paid £350 each for these flights as we wanted early ones. Checking the prices a week before our flight showed that these had HALVED in price. Upon arriving at the aiport our ticket showed a differnt flight time than the boards at Gatwick aiport. Once on the plane we then had a 40 minute delay before we took off.l On our outbound flight we checked online the day we were flying home only to find no record of the flight ANYWHERE online except on the Gatwick arrivals page which showed it was landing at a differnt time to our tickets. After calling Small Planet they assured us it was going ahead....even though there was no record of it! The aiport was a nightmare as we rushed and told we were boarding earlier and the flight was departing 30 minutes earlier. Not only were the flight times changed we were also no longer on a direct flight and the flight was stopping at Volos to refuel. The airline is a shambles and we were not even shown which plane to get on while we were boarding as there were two Small Planet planes....what if we ended up somewhere else!? Once on the plane we were told it would take 30 mintes to get to Volos...after 10 minutes the plane started dropping at a STAGGERING speed alarming and panicking everyone on the plane only to be told the captain had got too high too quickly. Stopping off at Volos easily added 2 hours onto our journey home! Also found the flight attendants very rude. All in all no I would NOT ever fly Small Planet again - I would rather have no holiday. A big shame as having travelling most islands in Greece and lots of places in Europe I would say Skiathos was the most beautiful place I have been and would return in a heartbeat but there is more chance me going in a rowing boat than a Small Planet plane. Small Planet are indeed totally * and you should have been told about the Volos stop at the outset - the runway at Skiathos is too short and all large flight have to take off "light" and refuel at Volos or Thessaloniki - the know that so it should have been included in the timetable.

I will be sending this to BBC Watchdog, The Guardian Travel Complaints letters sections, The Times Travel Complaints letters, Travel Trade Gazette, Travel Weekly, ABTA Magazine. I have sent a copy of my letter to Small Planet They are a * company who shouldn't be permitted to operate within the EU. Thanks for the post. I'm in the same situation Small Planets agreed to pay the compensation for our delayed but after the 13 weeks still haven't got it and they haven't replied to any communications. But after reading your post it seems to be the norm. Guest : My flight departed on the 2nd August 2016. We were delayed by 13 hours on a trip to Crete because of a technical fault confirmed to us in writing at the airport.. There are 3 of us and the legal obligation is that they have to pay 400.00 Euros per person. This is because the flight was over 1500km and the delay was more than 3 hours. I sent my claim when I returned. It was registered on the 17th August and I attached all of the relevant documents. I chased them every week via numerous methods and eventually spoke to them (the lady responsible is called Laura). They sent a reply on the 18th November to say it was being dealt with. After chasing them again 5 times we were offered a total of 750 Euros for 'out of pocket expenses'. This was immediately refused. On the 29th November we were offered an increased amount of 900.00 Euros. This was their 'final offer'. I reiterated that this was not a Dutch Auction and they were legally required to pay 1200 Euros. On the 2nd December I contacted the CAA via this link : www.caa.co.uk/Passengers/Resolving-trave... They will then take up your case. They advise it may take up to 10 weeks to respond to you. I got a response on the 02nd February. Following their intervention they confirmed that Small Planet would be paying me 1200Euros. This was confirmed by Small Planet the following day however they then advised that it would take up to 13 weeks to pay. Completely unacceptable but what can you do? Yesterday was the 13 week deadline and still no sign of any funds. I emailed Small Planet - no response. I contacted the CEO via Facebook (Kristijonas Kaikaris) - no response. So I contacted the CAA again and copied in Small Planet. Small Planet responded within a few hours to say the finance department has advised of a 'slight' delay and they would not be paying for another 7 weeks. I copied the CAA into my response to them I will send an update if and when I receive anything but not holding my breath. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they went into liquidation I hope that this is useful to someone

See my reply above Guest : We had a 14 hour delay in May 2016 and lost 1 and a half days of holiday, I made a claim on return requesting 800 euros due to medium haul flight. I was offered 200 each which I rejected then in June 2016 this was increased to 300 each. I rejected this then all went quiet. I escalated my case using RESOLVER app and still no joy. The next stage was to take to court and was ready to do this when in December received e-mail offering 800 euros total. I accepted this and sent my payment authority and signed agreement that this would be end of matter and was informed would receive payment within 13 weeks. It is now 16 weeks and no sign of compensation, I have e-mailed twice and had no response, is anyone in a similar situation and any suggestions?

My flight departed on the 2nd August 2016. In exactly the same position with these people (other than the dates) My 13 week promise is about to expire this Monday coming and despite advising them twice that no payment has yet been received I've not had any reply.

Just a quick one guys, i was sick of going back and forth and not getting what i was owed, did contact flight reclaim, they did take a cut but i still got more than i was offered from small planet in the first place. either way hope your persistence pays off guys, don't let them fob you off with 30%-50% of what you are owed!

I've had some joy with them on a flight delay, but not been offered the full amount yet. I did the claim form, then emailed, then called. Threaten to take it further in email and then call them to chase it. Phone for UK clients (9 AM to 3 PM London time on working days): +44 20 3807 1555

Did the same submitted forms but heard nothing. All contact has dried up. Ringing there is never an answer put in hold gift 15 minutes at a time then call is disconnected. Emailing no response. I guess the alternative would be the people who handle claims with commission as I am at a loss what the next step is. Guest : Not sure if this helps.. we were in the same boat, got the same initial response but kept on refusing. They did keep on increasing & We eventually agreed to 1000 euros (500 per passenger) Guest : I put a claim in in September for a delayed flight in August 2016. Received an email two weeks ago offering me half of what I'm entitled to. Email states this is a goodwill gesture and that they are not accepting liability. I am considering accepting this payment. Anyone else in this position thinking of holding out for full compensation?

Chris O : My wife and I flew with Small Planet Airlines on 01 Sept 2016 from Gatwick to Preveza Greece. Unfortunately, there was a SIX hour delay in departure resulting in the loss of the first day of the holiday. On return from holiday I submitted to the airline a claim for the compensation for the delay but despite several reminders and providing all the documentation requires to support the claim, the airline has not responded to the claim other than an automated email response back in October stating they have many claims to derail with. This is very disappointing and I have now referred the matter to CAA. HAs anybody received any compensation in response to claims against this airline? Hey Chris, I was also delayed whilst flying to Preveza. Haven't had much luck yet but just today i got an email which conveniently for them went into my junk mail saying to contact via an email with more details. I will get back to you if i hear anything.

I'm still waiting for a payout from a delay back on 10th September 2013 from Chania, Crete to Manchester, UK. I made the mistake of using Refund.me to manage the claim, who seem to be doing a grand total of nothing towards getting it resolved. My cases have been open 1,220 days with zero progress and only getting "fobbing off" answers every time I contact them... I think the time to claim will expire before anything happens. Avoid!

The website RESOLVER is a useful tool and takes you through the stages and complaints for you. We had a flight in Sept 2016 which was cancelled over 12 hours and I have been stonewalled since. Now got in touch with Hellenic Authorities as its no longer funny. As a footnote I have unable to serve a seizure notice of assets on Small Planet as they have no base in the UK to serve one. Does this not tell all if us something that they avoid paying out. The internet is strewn with loads of complaints about this airlines, and I will not use again(along with Olympic Holidays)

We had a flight delay in August 16 on the return leg from Rhodes to Manchester. Just under a 5 hour delay. On our return sent all the information to small planet via their website. Two month later still hadn't heard anything. So I emailed the European Consumer Council (ecc@tsi.org.uk) who took up my case. They send all the information to their Lithuanian branch who contacted small planet direct (all free of charge). Within a month Small Planet contacted me offering to settle in full. Hope this helps!
