Flying with SPA on Saturday morning to Rhodes - absolutely dreading this now following these reviews. Has anybody been able to do anything to move flights easily?

I called Olympic yesterday re my flight tomorrow. They said no problems. I have emailed SPA last night if they have an aircraft planned for this flight - no answer yet. SPA said on 14th June that they intend to run one. watching the Gatwich arrivals web page to see if there will be any delay/cancel I agree - this has totally ruined a holiday already, never before have i had to "plan" to a serious delay and worry weeks beforehand IF i would get away on time. never again with Olympic and SPA.

Well after reading all these reviews I have decided to change my flights from SPA to another airline. Could not take the risk as we are only going for a week to Cyprus. Cost me more but at least I can look forward to my holiday now instead ifworrying Iif the flight was going to be delayed or cancelled as a lot of thete flights have recently.

I have been emailing and phoning Olympic regularly to keep everything up to date, they assure me that they are not expecting any further problems from SPA as they are getting a new plane apparently. I have kept all my emails and logs of phone calls etc, in the case of any delays for my flights I hopefully have enough evidence to get compensated. It really takes away the excitement for the holiday doesn't it?

Olympic are fully aware of flight delays but choose not to tell you. Coaches are booked to ferry you to the airport so they let it all carry on as though your flight were on time. Olympic do not care a jot this happens every year and they will put every obstacle in your way when you try to claim compensation, please do not give up with your claim. Remember this when you spend your hard earned money on holidays next year and book with a decent company NOT Olympic this sad fiasco goes on year after year. Sorry but it's the hard facts good luck.

P7 493 to Rhodes left over two half hours late tonight. So if you are waiting at Rhodes airport for your flight home tonight you should reckon on around a 3 hour homebound delay.. good luck.

Corfu P7466 23rd July. Anyone thinking of flying with Small Planet please go and see a doctor...... You need your head examining. We were due to depart Corfu airport at 03:35 returning to Gatwick. No Plane, No Information, No Hope. We couldn't get any information of when the plane would arrive or if it had even left Gatwick. We were left stranded at Corfu airport and had to spend the night trying to sleep on the floor of the airport. The incoming flight finally arrived just after 9 am and was scheduled to depart at 9:50. At 10:15 we finally got on the plane. Once the plane was fully loaded the pilot turned off the air-conditioning and left us to bake for half an hour. The stewards said we were waiting for some documentation and advised everyone to close the blinds to keep the plane cool.... Looking out the window we could see they were still loading the plane. We finally tool off at 10:45 over 7 hours after we were due to depart.... We had no apology from the captain and after baking us in a tin can for half an hour they came round and SOLD us drinks. A 7 hour delay at any time is not good but after vacating your room at 12 Noon, traveling through the night to the airport, then being force to sleep on the floor with no information, just makes it worse. Would I fly with Small Planet again.... Not in a billion years. The best thing that could happen to Small Planet is for Olympic to sue them for breach of contract and damage to their reputation and for them to go bust. Small planet destroyed all the good memories of my holiday and left me with memories of a living hell.

Flight from Rhodes landed 1 hour late, tracked it out and home as we are flying in Sept and worried after following this forum for a few weeks - looked like spa chartered another plane.......

Elena : I dont wish to worry you and I know that not everyone has had the same experience but we also flew with small planet last August (through Olympic) - I personally would not listen to a word that Olympic tell you, their customer service with our 24 hour dealy was appalling at the very best. Taken to an airport at 11pm at night ( 9 hours after flight was due to take off) - no plane to take us home - we were left to sit outside in a damp environment for 3 hours as there was no room in the airport Olympic simply blamed the airline and the manager at the airport shouted us for moaning at her. Eventually taken to hotel at 6.30 am - which is not much fun with a 4 year old and 6 year old. I sincerely hope you have a great holiday but believe me I will never fly with Small Planet or book with Olympic again. Guest : We are due to fly to Cyprus in September with Small Planet i phoned Olympic holidays with the concern of all the bad reviews and was told that they have sorted all there problems out with Small Planet. Should i rest at ease or should i still be concerned ?? - I also spoke with Olympic and they said they had no issues with flights to Cyrpus and it was due to computer issues re the greek island delays! I'm sorry to say, but i think its a load of rubbish!

I completely agree with you! Are people still having issues with Greece? So nervous bout my holiday next week to Rhodes :-( Guest : Sending planes to Malta and Albania whilst passengers are stranded in Greece is criminal Olympic should enforce their contracts or quit the business altogether

For everyone who has suffered a delay or cancellation with Small Planet Airlines, you should look at the Irish Aviation Regulator's website, it is far more clear and legible than the UK CAA website. Baaaaaa! on the plus side the other passengers were great and I hope they all arrived home safely for all you travelling with small planet mwuu haa haa prepare to enter the twilight zone :) Thank you:) now THATS the kind of humour you need to endure SPA.....either that or you were quite normal before and they tipped you over the edge:) I'm not looking forward to my familes looming holiday escapade- it may go swimmingly but on the other hand.....break out the straightjackets..... straightjackets much more preferable to lifejackets :)

After reading all these reports on Olympic Holidays and Small Planet which, quite frankly are shocking to say the least, I think they should all be sacked!! and get rid of Olympic and Small Planet both are at fault. People are now missing flights because they are changing all the time. Flights are being cancelled. You can check them on the ceefax flight arrivals. Small planet also appear to be flying to Albania from Gatwick - god only knows why, it is not a tourist destination! and now Malta. So they seem to be taking on additional flights instead of prioritising existing flights.

They seem to be departing from Gatwick this morning with a1 1/2 hour and 1/2 hour delay, not too bad for them.!

WARNING. THE WORST AIRLINE OPERATING TODAY! Was 5 minutes late for check in after car broke down at Reading on the way to Gatwick, during the night. Had to complete the last hour of the Journey by Taxi. They wern't intrested, they just couldn't be bothered. The Supervisor couldn't care less, and made no effort to get us on the plane, they just strung it out, and then said no, it's too late. They wete useless. Will always make sure i never use them again. I hope they go out of buisness, sooner the better!

Not impressed so far! 23/7/13 Meant to be flying Manchester to Chania, Crete. We booked with SUNVIL (10th time) - we've always flown Monarch previously and were meant to this time, but everything got changed fter we'd booked. It looks like SUNVIL are cost cutting! Flight was meant to leave at 08.30 this morning. It is now 14.45 and we are still waiting. There are no staff to ask why the delay, there are no announcements. Our flight keeps being put further back. No other flights appear to be delayed leaving Manchester today, weather fine. Reading the reviews we're terrified over the state the plane will be in if it ever gets here!

Guest : hannah - hi Niamh- regarding the flights not showing on gatwick a site, i have the same problem. I decided to email gatwick themselves and they said 'Please do not be concerned, this is a regular occurrence for Small Planet Airline flights.' This has made me feel a little better and i also contacted Olympic who have said that interns of the actual flight, it will be with small planet. Regarding delays though this they couldn't help with and of course said due to it being a buay period delays can happen! Fingers crossed it doesn't happen for either of us. Hope this helps! A a worst airline in the world, our flight had to take of 8.30 on 23.7.13 or we thought so, but with no explanation than we got to airport we found out that the flight delayed by 5hr and the delay time keep growing up, thanks a lot for ruining our holiday bunch of useless

No, but we are on the one earlier - 6 am from Gatwick, this goes to Kos, then back to Manchester for your 16.10 then back to Kos then back to Gatwick which lands at 01.40. I have been watching this for a few weeks now, it does seem to start off at Gatwick more or less on time , and seems to leave Manchester ok too. Fingers crossed, but I will admit I am very concerned, we have a ferry to catch so really don't need a delay. Fingers and toes crossed. 0830 Man to Chania delayed 5 hrs as plane is on its way from Corfu to Gatwick rescuing the 0450 people that was told delay to Wed!

omg my 2 girls age 17 n 19 are at corfu waiting for a delayed small planet flight which should be arriving in Gatwick at 04.50 this morning, they have just been told the plane is still at Gatwick and cannot leave until after 6am!!!! they r freezing cold and only have English money left n nowhere to change it! flight is now expected to arrive at Gatwick at 10.40am but is changing all the time, if flight isn't leaving Gatwick til 6am how on earth is it going to get to corfu, load passengers and fly back by 10.40am!!! How long does it have to be delayed for them to get food n drink? All they want is a blanket!

Not a legal expert, but your contract and therefore aany compensation claim should be with whoever you paid your money to - either your travel agent, or if you booked direct with the tour operator (Olympic/Avro etc).[/I] My son in law is a solicitor and has confirmed that it is the tour operator ie OLYMPIC/AVRO etc who your contract is with. Unless you have booked your flight DIRECT with SPA etc, your contract will be with the tour operator viz any complaint you have MUST be levelled with the tour operator NOT the carrier. You do NOT have a direct contract with the carrier.

Just found this on the terms and conditions of our next holiday booking (not with SPA/Olympic etc). Hope it's some help: Under the Denied Boarding Regulation (EU 261/2004), if you have been denied boarding, your flight has been cancelled or it has been significantly delayed, it is the airline’s duty to look after you. This means providing food, drinks, and some communications. If you are delayed overnight, this also means a hotel and travel to and from it. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. If the airline does not comply with these rules you should complain to the Civil Aviation Authority at www.caa.co.uk/passengerrights. We have no liability to you in these circumstances whatsoever and your claim for this assistance and any compensation must be made directly to the airline. Liability of an airline under EU 261/2004 will not entitle you to a refund of your holiday price from us.

They state the claim for a flight delay is with Small Planet Airlines if that was the airline that was booked." You can bet if you contact the airline, they'll say "take it up with your tour operator...." Just a ploy to fob you off IMHO

When did you actually get back to UK and which airport. Need to know traveller. Thanks We got back early hours of today after being flown to Gatwick last night and bussed to birmingham Thank you for the info........that is horrendous - considering you should have returned on Friday at 9.10pm and you were flown into Gatwick on Saturday evening then bussed up to Birmingham arriving in the early hours of SUNDAY. Sounds like herding cattle and treating people like ****t. Glad we walked away from our holiday at B'Ham airport on Friday morning.
