I am reluctantly flying with SPA next week (tried to change my flight but couldn't) and the reviews I have read are awful. I cant believe they could be so bad. How is their safety reports does anyone know??

Pee : I will never ever fly SMA again, I read all the reviews prior but thought well I shall give them a try as it was at least a saving of £150 return from Gatwick to Corfu for two people, what a disgrace. delayed by over 9 hours, lack of announcements, plane grubby and old, on board was not even offered a hot drink after sitting in the airport for 12 hours, I wouldn't fly milk formula either.

SPA have confirmed on their Facebook page that the 11.30am flight from Birmingham to Skiathos on Friday 5th July WILL be operating. Fingers crossed all goes to plan.......not holding my breath though

All these people cant be telling the truth ,how terrible of them to * time on here making things up about your airline .Not looking forward to the weekend when no doubt we will be delayed and treated like dirt QOUTE] Guest : Guest : I am a flight attendant and can honestly tell you the delays are 9 times out of 10 not the fault of the company, the catering is dealt with by a catering company and believe me we are as much frustrated about it as anyone! When there is a delay please remember we are as much delayed as you are and have been on duty since 2 hours before the flights are scheduled and often are doing more flights after so TRUST me we feel the frustration too!...... What I HAVE to say is that WE DO keep the passengers informed and we DO give explanations to the best of our knowledge of any delay!"!!! As I said " 9 times out of 10 its NOT the fault of the airline" thus resulting in THE INFORMATION WE GIVE IS THE INFORMATION WE RECEIVE!!! The service on the aircraft has to be done in the manner that it is done and is standard practice regardless of the airline. Bearing in mind usually we are only 3 crew for 148 PAX and with the best will in the world I assure you we do our very best and in as timely a manner as humanly possible, pushing an 80KG cart and serving people who often haven't decided what exactly they want and also not got money ready etc unfortunately takes time which WE cannot control! whether the service begins at the front of the aircraft or the rear somebody is going to have to wait, there is nothing else we can do i'm afraid. Aside from that we are there to ensure the personal safety of each and every passenger on board! If there is an emergency landing we are trained to evacuate all passengers quickly and safely from the aircraft, If there is a fire on board, we cannot dial 999 at 40,000ft we have to fight the fire ourselves so are trained as fire fighters, if you become ill on board we are trained to recognise symptoms and act accordingly and will and often do save lives, if you go into premature labour on board who do you think will deliver your baby??? we go through rigorous and intensive training to do our jobs and we do it with pride and always a warm smile. Our number one priority is our passengers and their safety and well being, we are not waiters and waitresses in the sky, we are trained professionals who will stay on-board risking our own lives in an emergency to ensure passengers get off safely, we are wives, husbands, mothers, sisters and brothers, we are also the eyes, ears and nose of the flight deck and we do our best. Weighing all of our job roles up and putting it into perspective if we manage to serve a cuppa in the meantime we will!!! So how come all the complaints about your airline company is everyone making it up .Unfortunatley we are supposed to fly with you on sunday so i will make my own mind

looks like my flight has changed on 20.7.13 from bham to larnaca. Was supposed to be flying out with SPA at 7.15am now on olympic showing as cyprus airlines a 2.45pm! What a pain....basically lost a day of our holiday :(

Guest : Currently waiting at Gatwick airport for our 9:40AM flight which we are hoping to board shortly and depart before 6PM. Best situation now possible. There is nobody here to answer questions and all passengers have been left to ring the company and ask for updates with many deciding just to cancel and go home or change airlines, however our luggage is nowhere to be seen.Truly the worst airline I have ever flown with and will never ever choose them again. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM. Where you flying to Corfu, if so that was the flight we should have been returning on to Gatwick ( leaving Corfu at 16:00 ), I didn't get home until 04:30 of the morning of 02nd July, shall never fly with SMA again, EVER, disgusting

Guest : Hi, Just did a week in Malta, took off from Gatwick on Saturday returning same day following week. Had no delays and no problems with the airline. Flight out was sub contracted to a Spanish airline but again no problem. So you didn't actually fly in a Small Planet plane.

(Corrected typo) They weren't pulling a fast one as regards T/O from Skiathos, quite usual for A/c to have to make a short hop to refuel, usually to Thessaloniki. BTW some of your Spam bot protection codes are a bit difficult to decipher.

Travelled back from Skiathos with this airline & I shall not be using them again. They claim the plane cannot take off from the airport on the Island with a full tank of fuel so we had to go up, go to another island & re-fuel. Funny that other airlines take off with enough fuel to get back. At the stop they decided we all had to get off the plane. They said they didn't know why or how long we would be there for & they said they know as much as the passengers. So if you like to be kept in the * , make un-necessary stops & hang about at an unknown airport go ahead & book

just returned fr om larnaca to birmingham with small planet read the reviews and never thought a plane could be that bad but yes it was the plane was old shabby and in my opinion simply not air worthy no leg room at all no air conditioning the seating we were gave my husbands seat would not stay upwards so had to hold the seat up himself for a 5 hour flight the chairs infront had been stuffed with tissue paper to help fill them out wh ere the inners had fallen out never in my life have i heard a plane so loud in fact it was that loud people were shouting in conversation the air stewards were ok but could hardly get the drinks trolley down the aisle due to the plane been so small captain never spoke to passengers not even once ... the climb to 35,000 feet seemed to take forever and the decent into birmingham was the most scariest decent I have ever experienced and the plane shuddered and felt like it was breaking up on landing and again it seemed like minutes for the plane to come to a standstill at one point in the flight I actually thought that we would not be going home that the plane would not make it .. all i can say is we were in the hands of a higher authority on that flight and these planes should not be allowed to fly I have vowed i will never fly again it had literally scared me that much if you think that this review is over the top and you are booked with small planet once you get off the plane you will feel the same i would even go as far to say cancel your flight and book with another airline if you have children please please please do not fly with small planet safety is not an issue to this airline .I am in the process of writing to the aviation authority as I 100 % believe that the fleet of small planet planes should be grounded and assessed and tested as i feel they would do not under any circumstance's meet EU standards of air safety .

Hi, we haven't flown with this airline before, but having read the reviews on TripAdvisor and the comments on the this forum we have contacted our travel agent and changed our flights. We now fly with easyjet the most reputable company out there. Good luck to anyone flying with them. And fingers crossed for those stuck at airports with delays that u fly soon Xx

Just got back home having spent the first day of our holiday at Gatwick airport waiting for Small Planet to 'change a wheel'. Booked on the 9.40 flight finally gave in and requested our baggage to be returned (took nearly 2 hours). A stream of disinformation all day, not helped by Servisair's appalling customer relations and failure to keep their CUSTOMERS informed. Never again on a budget airline.

Flew with Small Planet fr om Manchester to Larnaca (Cyprus) in June 2013. I had no issue with Small Planet what so ever. Both Out and Inbound flights were on time. Some staff were a little hard to understand as they were not English but they were extremely friendly. Food and Drinks available on the flight were quite lim ited choice but suited our needs absolutely fine! Staff provided us with pillows and blankets. Overall both were great flights! I felt I should leave a good review for Small Planet as every other I have read have been terrible and I was dreading flying with them! I suppose it's hit and miss and if you're willing to take the risk with booking a cheap airline then delays etc is something you should prepare for. I would have no problem flying with Small Planet again. Absolutely fantastic!!

IF you have a flight booked with this Airline Please allow at least 24 hours for your flight from Greece to Gatwick London if you are lucky and be expected to be treated like a piece of Dog * . The sooner this company goes bust the better !!!!

Hi We recently booked a holiday with you to Kafalonia Greece departing on 23rd June and returning 30th June We paid extra to sit together on the flights,however this did not happen and we notified the Olympic staff at the check in and at the customer services desk, that we had paid for this.we were informed that this would be rectified on entering the plane,However this was meet with deaf ears and was basically said if you don't like it,lump it. Yesterday..On our return trip to the airport,we were told on the coach that collected us at 8:30am, there may be a short delay........Our flight was due to take of at 11:30am and was expected to be at home by 4pm in time for work and to collect our children We landed this morning at 3am and I arrived home at 5:25am !!!!! We ask that you send us the claim forms and letter to say we had been delayed (This is very important for us as work have insisted that we supply this to them) that we were told by Olympic officials told us to get from you ???? The Airline company Small Planet are a joke and a bad advertisement for Thomas Cook and Olympic There logo should read : Small Planet - Small Minded - Guaranteed to ruin your Holiday Kind Regards Luigi Scott

We have had no response either, we are going with a complaint through the CAA now. Nick daffas : Has anyone actally got anywhwere with compensation from Small Planet airlines? . I was on the 2nd June flight from gatwick to Gran Canaria delayed 21 hours. No luck from insurance company and no reply from Small Planet. Is that the end of it or has someone out there been successful? Though other oranisations could help but to no avail . Dee

Never thought I'd say this but wish we'd paid extra to use easy jet. 13 hour delay today is poor, if they are in existence in a few months time at least you can claim most of your money back under eu rules

Myself and my family have a trip booked with Olympic holidays to Cyprus on the 10 July 2013, using SPA as the airline. Reading all these stories is scaring me..... Anyone flight out to Larnca from Gatwick on a Wednesday with SPA? Any issues? Also what terminal do they fly from, from Gatwick?

Cosmos are using this Airline too for most of their Greek destinations! We are going to Kos with them in August and have a ferry to catch, dreading it.

Now sitting in Gatwick looking at the departures board, there are only 2 delayed flights showing and both are small planet airlines. Our flight is delayed by nearly 3 hours but the other is delayed by 12! I feel very sorry for those travellers. I'm told the plane "should be" an Airbus A320, should be? Huh? Anyway, I hope so as Boeing 737-300's are pretty old and from reading the other reviews a bit shabby as a result. Fingers crossed the delay doesn't get extended.

On Olympic bookings to Crete it now shows that they are using Thomson flights now instead of small planet, fingers crossed they are not using spa anymore

We we we also on the flight and had the same. On boarding were told we were refueling on route. She quizzed I was told to shut up and get on the plane. We did not stop. No one knew what was happening all day. Don't think there was a flight. Small planet were asked to do rescue flight 3 days earlier yet no one told us. Similar story coming home. Will I go Olympic again. Depends what they have to say but probably not.

Then find out not open till 1pm. Flight is due to leave at 4pm. When get to check in FINALLY get told flight Is 610pm. Get given a poor £10 to spend on refreshments!! Eventually arrived in skiathos 0015am local time. Olympic holiday staff didn't care. Small planet said they weren't meant to be on their plane they got called in- funny as tickets say small planet!! Return journey left hour and half after we were due on an airline called grand cru airline. Overall terrible experience with small planet airline will be pursuing this further disgraceful!!

Guest : Has anyone had problems with flights from gatwick to zante with spa. We are due to travel on 14th July. we go on the 7th and i have tried to get reassurance on the phone no joy so have sent them a letter .Two of there staff have admitted to me they are having problems .when i told them to put me on another flight they put the phone down on me

Update on p7412 due out of Rhodes 4.15am sunday 30th June back to Gatwick. Son is now on CY7732 from Larnaca via Rhodes, due to land London Gatwick 22.10 saturday 29th June. Olympic holidays still show this flight for holidays booked for next week etc but if the last 2weeks are to go by there is a good chance they will be changed at short notice. Good luck

We have been told 15kg and 5kg hand luggage- what is the baggage allowance to be put in the hold with small planet? we have booked a holiday to crete with olympic hols and they tell us it is 15kg but on small planet website it says 20kg-we are v confused

Update on Rhodes to Gatwick p7412 due to fly 04.15am sunday 30th June. My son has sent me a text with the new flight details they have been given in resort, flight no. CY7732 (I guess could be Cyprus Airways by the prefix)? Says they are now departing 2000, I think he means saturday 29th, so arriving in the UK 8hrs EARLIER than planned??
