Guest : Guest : are they still in business ?? According to their website, they are now based in Poland obviously having fleed Gatwick. Why does the CAA even allow them to land in our country? CAA are just as useless; my daughter submitted papers to them last April and she has still not heard anything from the CAA. They are a Lithuanian airline with operations in Poland. Up until they had an Italian franchise operation which is now defunt. They are not a British or French company and have never had what people call an "office" at Gatwick. It was just an address (a virtual address) to which unhappy customers could post complaints.

After reading all the legal stuff and realizing I had a valid case to claim for delay compensation, I sent SPA letters and emails. Eventually they graced me with the usual letter stating the delay was due to extraordinary circumstances. Total rubbish of course, but even with a small claims court ruling, how can you get them to pay up if they are based abroad?
I've had exactly the same responses and have decided to go small claims route too. What's the point of a regulator that closes files and allows their "members" to reassess themselves?!?! Tour operator, airline, abta, CAA all now closed ranks around this and trying to force their paying clients away. Nonsense. Guest : steve: Hi I was also on this flight, but ended up not even leaving Gatwick after my accomodation re-sold my room! The CAA have been just as useless as SPA. I guess I have to use the small claims court :( I have posted on here before regarding my families delayed flights to (13 hours delay) and from (23 hours delay) Las Palmas this year, we have posted a claim to Small Planet Airlines that was rejected "Extraordinary Circumstances". We then filed a claim with the CAA who have sent it back to Small Planet Airlines for re-assesment, now nearly 8 weeks have passed and still no reply from the airline. I have also contacted the airline direct and asked what the extraordinary circumstances were, but still no reply. Surely the so called governing bodies who make up the rules and the courts who have ruled in favour of peoples claims against these airlines who openly disregard the rules and legislation should be able to do something! When these airlines log delays to there flights with air traffic control these delays and the reasons must be recorded somewhere, cant the passengers / public gain access to these records to help substantiate there claims? To all you people who have good and enjoyable flights with Small Planet Airlines I am genuinly pleased for you, but to still say you would travel with this airline again, i'm sorry you must be mad!! do you think all these bad reviews / comments are lies... my families holiday wasn't ruined we still had a good time, but we lost the first day of our holiday (what we paid for) and because of the delay on the return my kids lost 2 days at school and my wife received a verbal warning from her boss who didn't believe we were delayed. I will be persuing the claim through the courts as other people have and hope to get a reasonable conclusion to this matter.

I am trying to claim compensation for a 26 hour flight delay with SPA and I am struggling as they do not have an office in the UK. It is apparently Lithuania to whom we should write. I understand people have been trying for months to claim against them, without success. Could anyone advise me if they have been successful and if so how??? thank you
Sam : RESULT.........ALL THOSE AFFECTED LAST SUMMER SHOULD READ THIS...... I have received an email from ABTA (to whom I sent details of the fiasco that Olympic Holidays were pulling re: departures last Summer) their legal department looked at it and have since FINED them for breaking ABTA's Code on Conduct. With this info I once again wrote to Olympic asking for some compensation for the expenses we acquired on 19 July. They have replied - as I sent them a copy of the ABTA email........would you believe they want receipts before they will consider it further. In the great scheme of things I was asking for just over £90 which is peanuts to them.........so I urge anyone who is still pursuing any claim to keep on. I was not going to put this info the public domain but as of today I am doing just that......Olympic Holidays need showing up for what they are... a huge joke!!! Hi Sue, sorry to hear about your aborted holiday, we were in were in Skiathos, and suffered the 26 hour delay on the way back, which was to Gatwick and not Birmingham. I am still in the process of trying to claim compensation, Olympic have just batted it over to Small Planet, who still haven't replied from my letter in September. But i'm difficult to shake off. If i am successful i will post on here the result. Sam sue from York : hi, did anyone get a result from the flight delay to and from skiathos on the 5th coming back to birmingham-gatwick on the 19 20th July. I've sent letters to Olympic and small planet airline but Olympic have dismissed it and not head from SP. Can anyone shine any light on the matter please. Hello. We were going to Skiathos from Birmingham on 19 July - all passengers got bussed to Gatwick and got to fly out from there - the NEXT DAY - in the afternoon! As we were only going for 7 nights we DID NOT go on the holiday at all and came home. I have had no joy at all from Olympic regarding our out of pocket expenses that day and the huge disappointment of NOT having a holiday. Our travel agent refunded all money paid to Olympic on the very day of our aborted holiday! Olympic did reply by letter to our travel agent and it was a joke. Their last paragraph said they hoped we had enjoyed our holiday anyway, despite the problems! I sent all papers and correspondence to ABTA. They replied that they are a voluntary organisation and although they were sorry to hear about our horrible experience there was nothing they could do to help with compensation claim! So one huge lesson learned - DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH OLYMPIC ever!

TERRIBLE COMPANY. I CALLED AND REQUESTED A SPECIAL MEAL (WELL IN ADVANCE) AND THERE WAS NONE PROVIDED ON THE FLIGHT. WHEN I CONTACTED THE COMPANY TO ASK WHAT HAD HAPPENED THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT I WAS IN FACT PROVIDED A VEGAN MEAL...EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT THE AIR HOSTESS DID NOT HAVE ME ON THEIR LIST AND THEREFORE DID NOT HAVE ANY SPECIAL MEAL REQUEST ASSOCIATED WITH MY NAME. WHEN I TRIED A SECOND TIME TO POINT THIS OUT, MY EMAIL WENT ENTIRELY IGNORED. INTERESTING THING, AIR LINGUS, I DON'T HAVE TO FLY WITH YOU EVER AGAIN, AS THERE ARE OTHER COMPANIES FLYING TO AND FROM MY DESTINATION. YOU THINK THAT WOULD CONVINCE THEM THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT TO THEIR SURVIVAL, BUT NO. DON'T FLY WITH THIS COMPANY. AND ON A SIDE NOTE, YOU'LL SEE THE DRINK CART ONCE IN A 6 HOUR FLIGHT. POOR SHOW AIR LINGUS, POOR SHOW
Travelled with Small Planet in June this year, from Gatwick to Santorini on return basis. Flight out was rescheduled by 4 hours, but we still were told to check in at 3.30am, don't know why, so ended up waiting in Gatwick for hours on end. Eventually given the ok to go to departure gate, than waited a further hour before boarding. Once on board the plane was old but comfortable. Cabin crew were very friendly and helpful and served drinks and snacks etc. The flight itself was fine as was landing. The return flight was again delayed but only by 1 hour, and again the flight back was fine with a helpful crew. I have flown with much better companies, but as they say "you do get what you pay for", and as Small Planet are a budget airline, it was kind of what me and my wife expected. We would fly with them again, but would choose to fly with other airlines firs,t and only use Small Planet as a last resort, but only due to the check in and delay times they seem to experience all of the time, in terms of the bad safety reviews, and poor service of cabin crew, I can safely say we were not concerned at all once we boarded the aircraft, and it was perfectly fine, at the end of the day Civil Passenger Aircraft cannot fly if they do not meet stringent safety regulations and pass thorough checks and tests. We, as others had major concerns about flying with Small Planet after reading reviews of other travellers, but to be honest we had nothing at all to worry about. The only problems we experienced overall was delays which were very annoying but seem to be the norm for Small Planet, if they sorted this out they would actually be a good airline.
Guest : Small planet airlines grounded in paris !! www.lithuaniatribune.com/44953/small-pla... So I take it cars never have a minor fault then??????????????
Guest : The lady who has just won her case in court agains SPA in Hastings please get in touch I won my case in August and still not been paid by SPA I am awaiting for instructions frm the judge as they have now closed down their office in Gatwick so I am being told as I was going to send the bailiffs to collect my money Sandra email VFL02@AOL.COM How do you go about doing this? Is it expensive/complicated?

I sent them a letter stating i was eligable for compensation and they had 2 weeks to reply. This was back in August! And nothing as of yet! I also filed with CAA who said they would pass it onto them and it could take another 8 weeks. Watch this space i guess but as far was im concerned its an absoulte joke. Whats the point in having new rules and regulations if they dont apply to such shocking companies. Cant believe they are even still allowed to fly.

We flew to lefkas sept 1st this year with small planet, after reading all the horror stories about the airline I was really apprehensive about flying I don't much care for flying at the best of times, the out bound flight was just ok!!!the plane was very old and the arms of our seats were taped up and couldn't be moved,on the outbound flight it was horrendous I was terrified the aircraft again was so old and when we landed oh and this was the worst landing ever didn't think he could stop we were all concerned the plane shook so much you could literally see the different sections if the aircraft looked like it was dropping to bits everyone applauded cos we were all so relieved, they should be taken out of service before something bad happens,I was so terrified I don't want to fly ever again!!! And I have been flying for over20 yrs twice a year just awful!!!!!
Has anybody flown with Easyjet this year, and if so, did you encounter any problems with flights eg. delays or change of flight times or receipt of tickets at the last minute. Please let me know if you had any of these difficulties.
We flew with small planet airlines to Kos on the 2nd to the 10th October. We were very apprehensive after reading the reviews. Both flights were on time, arrived considerably early both ways and the staff were mainly British. The inside of the plane was a little tatty with worn carpets but didn't feel unsafe. Comfier than easyjet and more legroom.
Small Planet have done a runner fr om their office at Gatwick and now appear to have set up their Uk operations from an office in Poland. We have a judgement against them as do others but now we will have to chase them in Europe.I will get them somehow for my awarded compensation. If any one has any knowledge about wh ere they might have assets in the UK, please let me know dmball101@googlemail.com Thanks

Beware booking with a subsidiary of this airline called FlyTenerife. I made a booking on 20th August for flights to Tenerife from Glasgow on 20th October. Booking confirmed, money taken from my credit card. Became concerned last week when trying to confirm flight details - discovered Glasgow airport had no details of any flights by this company on that day. Calls and emails to the company resulted in several lies being told to me and the BBC who took up my case. Their CEO (Lynn Greig) even told me she was the company "salesperson" AND continued to insist there was a flight - even after Small Planet Airlines (their parent company) had told the BBC that flights had been "pulled" on 27 September at would not start until 20th December at the earliest. They did eventually offer to rebook my wife and I on a different airline but times were not suitable and, being concerned that there might be many people looking for alternative flights, I made a booking with FlyThomasCook. A refund has been promised. See: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-eas... I have no doubt that without media involvement we would have turned up at Glasgow airport on 20th October to find ourselves stranded. Subsequent email from the CEO of FlyTenerife company said: “We agree that in hindsight, more specific details could have been given to you at that time advising it was cancelled and to reassure you that a choice of alternatives would be advised to you and we would be in touch in the next few days to officially inform you of your options.” What she ought to have said was “Sorry it took more than two weeks to tell you there was no flight and for lying to you about the flight during two telephone conversations” Shoddy, shoddy treatment. I would not trust FlyTenerife or Small Planet Airlines.

Just a quick post regarding Small Planet Airlines. We booked a 7 day holiday via Olympic in September 2012 and suffered a 17 hour delay going out on a Small Planet Airline plane due to technical problems. Because of the well documented claim procedure we wrote to all parties concerned starting with Olympic who as the tour operator are not accountable in any way for any flight delays. We eventually wrote to Small Planet who have an office at The Beehive, Gatwick about compensation. We received numerous " we are looking into it" letters before eventually getting the "Extraordinary Circumstances" fob off. I issued a summons in June and we had a court hearing today in Hastings and Small Planet were a no show. Judge awarded us £741 including travel expenses and interest. They have 14 days to pay. Its nice to see District Judges becoming very familier with flight delay cases. I have a second one with Thomson on the 23rd October, I hope its the same Judge!!

Guest : Guest : We had 6 hours delay in July 2012 gtw-skiathos and after 8 months of letters, I filed a claim at small claims court. I feel that they won't take it seriously, but at least I have the right to try Having big problems with SPA, 9 hour delay from Corfu to Gatwick, have gone through Civil Aviation Authority in Greece and the European trading standards, SPA said extraordinary circumstances and now they state I didn't even use them as a airline carrier, what a joke and so bad to lie, I have even produced boarding passes ect, they just don't want to know, would never EVER use them again Guest : Guest : We had 6 hours delay in July 2012 gtw-skiathos and after 8 months of letters, I filed a claim at small claims court. jpcrowest@gmail.com : This company left 26 people stranded in kos this weekend just gone - we then had to fly to Poland, then to luton before being bused to Gatwick. Only 40+ hours late. Now they cannot be contacted - gutless, especially when they left elderly and injured people behind. Wouldn't go anywhere near them.

we had a 25 hour delay when flying with small planet ' this was over 12 months ago we spent the night in manchester airport we had about 12 blankets and pillows beetween everyone on the flight . dont exspect any compensation nobody really wanted to help us caa sided with small planet but would not tell us why [top secret]?
sue from York : hi, did anyone get a result from the flight delay to and from skiathos on the 5th coming back to birmingham-gatwick on the 19 20th July.
I note that many posters have stated that they will be submitting compensation claims and I have no doubt that they did. Can I ask if anyone has actually ever received any compensation either from SP or through the courts.
Hi my partner and I travelled on this flight just wondering did you get any compensation I have snt letters to both spa and Olympic not had any reply from small pla[net and olimpic wrote to say its not their faultQOUTE] Guest : I had the misfortune of travelling to Corfu with this company on 22 nd July and was delayed at Gatwick for 7.5 hrs overnight we were provided with no information food or drinks. The plane was old and there was no air conditioning untill it was in the air.I was seriously concerned for our safety.Thankfully they seemed to dispatch another airline to collect us on the 30th (not SPA). This was a truly dreadful experience compounded by the fact that Olympic took over 3 hrs to transfer us to Sidari which should have taken 45 mins.I am at this point compiling my information to gain compensation.I would pay twice the price to avoid this airline.

Guest : Those of you who went to the small claims court - can you give more info so I can do the same. I can only find an address in Poland which is supposedly the 'base' for the UK. What address did you give for them?

Small Planet Airlines have no customer service operation at all at Gatwick - despite the fact that they have flights from Gatwick. Not only this but they do not answer or acknowledge in any way letters or emails that are sent to them. I would be interested to know who the previous person who posted as Guest spoke to for so called 'customer service'. Was this the number in Poland? I would suggest that you all avoid this bunch. Worst flight I have had ever.
With regard to the last 3rd October posting where was this? Were you in England or on the return flight?
Bert : Flying with small planet earth tomorrow. Should I be worried ?? Chill and go with it. Nothing you can do to influence anything. If it's OK you'll wonder what all the fuss is about. If not, put it down to experience and go with someone else next time.

Guest : Hi I have taken SP to the small claims court and won not been paid out as yet but please get in touch I will tell you more Email VFL02@AOL.COM THANKS I wish I would of seen this when we booked our oil day !! We had a over 21 hour delay and were told there was a technical issue and a part had to be picked up from Luton when we were at Gatwick and then to,d the crew went over teir hours! Think after reading comments I am going to take it to small claims court too as I have had no emails back from anyone I.e watchdog, the companies I booked through or the airline.
Guest : Hi I have taken small planet airlines to court for our 10 hour delay and won my case however no payment has been received for this Im now getting legal advise and will send in the bailiffs if i have too as I am like you I will not stop until I receive my money Sandra Guest : I am wondering where I should start with this story; the fact that Small Planet is the worst airline I have flown with to date or the fact that Olympic tour Reps are liars and wimps! Flight P7356 fr om Corfu to Gatwick scheduled for 00.20 Corfu time: our check in time was 10.20 we arrived I would say just before this and upon arrival our rep Stacey announced the flight was delayed by 1hr 30 mins. We were waiting on a plane that was sitting in Gatwick P7355 scheduled for 18.20 UK time now please note Corfu is 2 hours ahead so technically they should have known about this delay from 20.20 yet we were picked up from our hotel at 21:00 and not informed until arriving at the airport! As you can imagine people were slightly annoyed but an hour and a half never did anyone any harm. After this time still no plane ( you can see the planes landing from wh ere you are sat!) At this point little information was given; we were told the plane had a technical fault so we won't know how long the delay was. We enquirer when we would receive some kind of refreshments the Olympic holiday reps were standing like plums at the entrance of the airport which meant you had to go back through security to ask them anything! We were told between. 4 -6 hours before you get light refreshments! Guess what? 4 hours passed and that rep Tracy said ooo we have sent an email to the airline to get authorisation to give refreshments! This never came through 6 hours of waiting at the airport Tracy said she didn't know what was going on they were making "phonecalls" however a kind lady who worked for the airport enlightened is that she was arranging accomodation as the pilots had passed their legal amount of time to fly! I forgot to mention about 4hours into the delay Tracy decided to come through and face the increasingly * passengers just to tell us lies and brush off out questions! At 04.30 am we were told to get out luggage as we were being taken to the hotel. When we got to the hotel we were promised out two courtesy calls a part of small planets protocol. ( I never received these!) I must say the only positive thing I can say is that the hotel was very nice Hotel Alti all inclusive and lovely staff. We were made to check out of our rooms at 3pm/3.30 I think and were told we were being collected at 5pm now onto the next rep Ursula telling us the plane from gatwick had been boarded I am not an idiot I checked on my phone the plane was still on Last call. Then she came with the bunch of lies that a Cosmos plane was coming to get us have me a SP airline number that wasn't even scheduled until 5hour later. Many of us refused to be taken to the airport until gatwick would confirm the flight was airborne. After 20 hours delay we finally landed in gatwick and I actually had very little faith that we would with the noises the plane was making. Finally to add insult to injury Ursula told us we can collect out letters from Meridian office at Gatwick detailing the delay which is needed for the claims process; this desk did not exist! And surprise surprise the correct desk had no one in sight apparently they were done for the day! I hope you read all of this Small Planet Airlines is a sham and Olympic holidays this is the first and last time I will be using you honesty is always the best policy so look out for me as I will be taking this as far as I can! Your Truly, London passenger flight P7356 3/08/2013
We also have had a great experience with Small Planet Airlines. Our departure from Norwich to Verona and return both left slightly ahead of schedule. We had absolutely no problems with them.

We have just returned from Kos, and I've got to say Small Planet were great to travel with.No delays from Manchester or on the return flight on Thursday,. They are just as good as any budget airline and better than some so don't be scared of using them. Thanks Small Planet from two very satisfied customers !
] Guest : Please let me know if anything comes of you taking them to small claims court as I am considering it my self after a over 1 hour delay and were treated appallingly at the airport and by staff Georginagallant@hotmail.co.uk Sweetie, read some goood book instead of claiming 1 (!!!) hr delay!!! This is aviation, nothing more! It is all about safety and other procedures, and you as a queen had big problem with 1hr delay! ahahahahha
