Small Planet Airlines Discussion
Would like to be able to review them as was booked on a flight fr om Gatwick to Rhodes on 27 July 2013 and return flight on 4 August 2013. They changed the plane on the outward flight which didn't have enought seats so ended up on an Easyjet flight to Kos followed by Ferry to Rhodes. The return flight didn't even show up was eventually provided by Preferential Airlines 3 hours later. Due to this I would not book another holiday wh ere Small Planets are the airline.

When I originally booked the holiday with Monarch holidays it stated the airline was Monarch then a few weeks later I received a letter stating change of airline to Small Planet and time of flight! I was slightly concerned with what I have been reading, you have put my mind and my daughter's at rest, thank you.

Reps are the last to get information and what is given to them is almost always wrong so dont take it out on them. Dont shoot the messengers. As for Small Planet - Ive seen worse, travelled with and worked with.

I think this is SAM Air Flight back from Heraklion tonight is JN4254 Livingston Air, due to arrive back at LGW 06:50ish tomorrow. At least you'll come back on a decent Airbus with decent onboard service...........

Has anyone flown to Zante from Gatwick on the Sunday morning flight? Iam booked on flight p7421 next week and am travelling with young children. Just wondered if any food or drinks are available on board as just a cup of water won't really cut it for them so will have to go prepared I guess!

Guest : Booked holiday to Rhodes 24 - 31 Aug thro' 9Holidays last week. Told flight was Monarch with 10 kg cabin luggage. Confirmation from Avro (Monarch parent company) shows Small Planet with 5kg allowance. Now faced with excessive charge to change docs to buy hold luggage at 20kg. Monarch not interested - 9Holidays not returning calls. I will wait and see what happens next with the holiday, given all the reviews, then start proceeding for mis-selling (facts on kg allowance) and misrepresentation (Flt carrier info). Anyone else had this issue with Monarch and/or Agents? Yes we had to pay £228 excess baggage fees to take 2 x 15 kilo's each. this is a RIP OFF.. they charged us at check in..

We are now in Corfu and were on that delayed flight, I will be honest it was an absolute nightmare. We had no information during the delayed time apart from excuse after excuse. We were informed at 2am the flight was cancelled, had to, go through passport control and collect our bags, put into a hotel at 4am and then back at the airport for half 11 to check in again at 12! We left just before 3. Be prepared for a lot of waiting around, lack of information and when you ARE told.... It's probably lies anyway! Good luck!

Many thanks for that I just assumed that there was no replacement flight which scared the living daylights out of me lol Will check tonight to see if that Livingston flight got off on time. Just for people's info I recieved my travel docs today for my Olympic holiday to parga, flying small planet. This was on 29th emailed to me. So it would seem they are emailing tickets for flights from Manchester.

Guest : Anyone due to fly to Skiathos on Frid 9 August flight p7353 ? Small Planet not even listed as flying to Skiathos on Gatwick site !!! Don't worry too much - LGW info not always up to date. This flight definitely flew last Friday, although it was delayed and didn't depart until 11:10. Aircraft was an SPA Airbus last week

went to corfu from gatwick on the 22nd july with small planet, one and a half delay, not so bad as even british airways and easy jet had delays that day, plane nice and clean, cabin crew polite, pilot gave flight info out a couple of times during flight all in all not bad at all, flew back on the 5th aug , flight changed to germania (german company) on time, given sweets, free soft drinks or tea / coffee, then a free meal !, followed by more free drinks !, even handed out little pillows and blankets ! what can i say ! super stuff !! holiday booked with olympic ! 10/10 !!

Well after booking my holiday to Majorca with Monarch I noticed on my booking confirmation I was flying with Small Planet - I had never heard of them and after reading reviews I was most concerned, rightfully so. Flew out on Sunday 28th July, 1 hour delay, not too bad...coming back last night there was a 30 min delay, arrived at Gatwick and wondered what all the fuss was about - then the disaster struck. The flight had left Majorca without the baggage being loaded, the Small Planet pilot informed us on the plane before take off the 30 minute delay on the tarmac was due to them having to wait for the luggage to be loaded - they bloody well flew knowing the bags had still not been loaded, hundreds off well irate passengers at Gatwick last night, me included, still waiting for my luggage as i write this review!. Although I am more annoyed with Monarch, how could they sub contract the flight out to an airline who clearly has no place in the holiday industry!!

Traveled with Olympic Holidays to Crete Tues 16/07/2013 Sceduled to be Small Planet but flight showing gatwick departures - check airline. Ended up as another flight showing to Heraklion for same departure time and was Go 2 Sky (a 1 aircraft operation based in Lithuania) Was worried when a Gatwick check-in person walked by and said "flying Small Planet - good luck". Check in opened about 20mins late and was informed of new flight number with Go 2 Sky and would be approx 1hour late departing. I think it was about 1hour 20mins late going out. Due to return to Gatwick Early Wed 31/07/2013 Small Planet flight number at check-in but was with Grand Cru Airlines (understand to be a 1 aircraft opperation based in Slovakia) Flight departed approx 10mins early. On both flights were giver a sandwich and soft drinks. NO alcohol sod or served on flight which I think was a good idea bearing in mind many of the passengers were young-ish (18-30's) going out to perhaps get plastered (perhaps in more way than one !!!) Airline crew on both flights were young but very helpful making both flights relaxing. Enjoyed the holiday and found no major problems with the service given. In the past years I have experienced many delays from other airlines and used Olympic Holidays for many and always returned due to the good value they offer (delays exepted). All given I will use Olympic Holidays again.

Regardless if it is law or not, the reps work for the tour operator, not the airline and will be spoon fed information which normally has passed through several people before it gets to them. They have no authorisation to issue welfare and no matter how many times you tell the airline that, if they don't authorise it, it can't be issued. No authorisation means no payment so without it in writing you are issuing welfare on a non authorised basis. Silly i know but the reps have little power to issue anything and quite often, piggy in the middle with conflicting information being given to them and what is told to the handling agent.

I had the same email, i think its awful. a crew issue is not extraordinary circumstances!! I've just had the pleasure of flying Small Planet with a long delay and no information given, nor refreshments offered. This is what I have found from a reliable source for not just refreshments but also compensation: at least two hours for a flight of 1500 kilometres (932 miles) or less; three hours or more for all flights within the EU exceeding 1500 kilometres (932 miles), and all other flights between 1500 kilometres (932 miles) and 3500 kilometres (2175 miles); and more than four hours for all other flights. They can only wheedle their way out of it for "Extraordinary circumstances" which doesn't include them over-scheduling their flights! You are entitled to: Two free phone calls, faxes or e-mails Free meals and refreshments appropriate to the delay Free hotel accommodation and hotel transfers if an overnight stay is required You can also choose not to travel, and get a refund of your ticket cost if the delay lasts for five hours or more (but the flight is not cancelled). So those silly reps do NOT need to make phone calls to confirm that they can provide refreshments, IT'S THE LAW! You do not need a special form to claim compensation, you can write your own letter! Good luck. I'll report back the result of my claim.

We were due to fly to Rhodes on 27 July 2013 with Small Planets, holiday booked with Olympic Holiday. 11pm the night before we received a phonecall advising us of problems with flight & that if we wished to continue with our holiday then we would be flown to Kos & ferry across to Rhodes the following day. Our rep in Kos advised us that for th 7 weeks that Small Planets have been Olympics preferential charter airline there has been nothing but problems. Our return flight from Rhodes at 4.15am 4 August 2013, also with Small Planets, was cancelled - no explanation given. Nor did we received notice until being left at airport despite Olympic having known for 24 hours. Our flight was eventually provided by Preferential Airlines (?) nearly 3 hours later. If Small Planets are the charter airline then I would suggest finding another holiday.

Small Planet's P7611 Birmingham to corfu is definitely now operated by Cyprus Airways as CYP7690 and is now on it's way, having been delayed 25 mins or so from the planned take off time. Cyprus Airways are in deep financial problems themselves, and have been cancelling scheduled routes left right and centre, which is probably why they have availability of aircraft.

I am wondering where I should start with this story; the fact that Small Planet is the worst airline I have flown with to date or the fact that Olympic tour Reps are liars and wimps! Flight P7356 fr om Corfu to Gatwick scheduled for 00.20 Corfu time: our check in time was 10.20 we arrived I would say just before this and upon arrival our rep Stacey announced the flight was delayed by 1hr 30 mins. We were waiting on a plane that was sitting in Gatwick P7355 scheduled for 18.20 UK time now please note Corfu is 2 hours ahead so technically they should have known about this delay from 20.20 yet we were picked up from our hotel at 21:00 and not informed until arriving at the airport! As you can imagine people were slightly annoyed but an hour and a half never did anyone any harm. After this time still no plane ( you can see the planes landing from wh ere you are sat!) At this point little information was given; we were told the plane had a technical fault so we won't know how long the delay was. We enquirer when we would receive some kind of refreshments the Olympic holiday reps were standing like plums at the entrance of the airport which meant you had to go back through security to ask them anything! We were told between. 4 -6 hours before you get light refreshments! Guess what? 4 hours passed and that rep Tracy said ooo we have sent an email to the airline to get authorisation to give refreshments! This never came through 6 hours of waiting at the airport Tracy said she didn't know what was going on they were making "phonecalls" however a kind lady who worked for the airport enlightened is that she was arranging accomodation as the pilots had passed their legal amount of time to fly! I forgot to mention about 4hours into the delay Tracy decided to come through and face the increasingly * passengers just to tell us lies and brush off out questions! At 04.30 am we were told to get out luggage as we were being taken to the hotel. When we got to the hotel we were promised out two courtesy calls a part of small planets protocol. ( I never received these!) I must say the only positive thing I can say is that the hotel was very nice Hotel Alti all inclusive and lovely staff. We were made to check out of our rooms at 3pm/3.30 I think and were told we were being collected at 5pm now onto the next rep Ursula telling us the plane from gatwick had been boarded I am not an idiot I checked on my phone the plane was still on Last call. Then she came with the bunch of lies that a Cosmos plane was coming to get us have me a SP airline number that wasn't even scheduled until 5hour later. Many of us refused to be taken to the airport until gatwick would confirm the flight was airborne. After 20 hours delay we finally landed in gatwick and I actually had very little faith that we would with the noises the plane was making. Finally to add insult to injury Ursula told us we can collect out letters from Meridian office at Gatwick detailing the delay which is needed for the claims process; this desk did not exist! And surprise surprise the correct desk had no one in sight apparently they were done for the day! I hope you read all of this Small Planet Airlines is a sham and Olympic holidays this is the first and last time I will be using you honesty is always the best policy so look out for me as I will be taking this as far as I can! Guest : Cyprus Airways have replaced Small Planet flights fr om Birmingham for the next two weeks. Wh ere have you found this news from?? I am due to fly from Birmingham on the 12th to Corfu?

Guest : Meridian Aviation Ltd. are now in liquidation. These are the people Olympic and other holiday companys booked your Small Planet flights with. I am not a fan off Olympic Holidays but I do think they will get you to your holiday destination. Go to the airport prepared for delays. Should not have any real effect on flights - just means that Olympic deal with chartering direct with SPA now rather than through a brokerage

Meridian Aviation Ltd. are now in liquidation. These are the people Olympic and other holiday companys booked your Small Planet flights with. I am not a fan off Olympic Holidays but I do think they will get you to your holiday destination. Go to the airport prepared for delays.

Booked with Olympic holidays flight from Gatwick to Rhodes sat 27/7 at 21.15 get advised by Olympic at 19.15 evening before to say that small planet have downsized my flight and they are now flying us to kos at 16.00 staying overnight there and being ferried to Rhodes in the morning the transferred to our hotel. Finally arrived at our hotel at 17.30 on Sunday lost a whole day of our holiday. Just returned today after 2 and a half hour delay at Rhodes to be put on privilege airways flight no food or drinks offered for free or to purchase after an hour and a half on the plane offered a cup of water! Absolutely disgusted will be claiming compensation!

DB : TODAY 17:00 P7422 ZAKINTHOS EXPECTED 18:45 GATWICK SOUTH TERMINAL. Any one know anything about this delay? or if it is likely to be longer? I have a 3 hour drive to airport, and don't want to get 1/2 way and they add a couple of hours. 13:42 The outbound flight to Zakinthos is currentlyjust over Brindisi so about 260 miles to go

I'm stuck in Zante waiting. Looks like outbound flight was delayed DB : TODAY 17:00 P7422 ZAKINTHOS EXPECTED 18:45 GATWICK SOUTH TERMINAL. Any one know anything about this delay? or if it is likely to be longer? I have a 3 hour drive to airport, and don't want to get 1/2 way and they add a couple of hours.

Just logged on to departures. Supposed to be leaving gatwick Sunday 4th at 2pm going to palma majorca. P7387 Not even listed or anything? Anyone else on that flight bit concerned after reading other people's posts!
