I think we should all charge them interest if they continue to delay processing the refunds.

Easy Jet have rejected my refund claims for flights they cancelled under EC 261 due to the flights being cancelled due to 'extraordinary circumstances' having delayed their response for 6 weeks and having 'encouraged me to make the claims. I'm sure I'm not alone and wonder what course others have taken. I'm not going to let this go and will revert to the small claims court if necessary but hope there is an easier root

Star : just wondering has anybody yet received a refund for their cancelled flight because of covd19 I have been waiting for my refund since 18th March to no avail. Number doesn't work. Only had a response to my email saying it could take up to 90 days. It's a joke!

I have a booked flights due to leave on the 1st June, I have sent a least 10 e-mails and digital enquires, tried the useless phone number and had no response what so ever. Easyjet say my flight has not been cancelled, yet Easyjet has grounded all their flights, I'm clearly missing something here, what part of this is not a cancelled flight. Easyjet are just playing a crafty game that a bunch of crooks play, Easyjet are avoiding their statutory obligations and are not adhering to the law. If a customer does not receive the product/goods that they have paid for, you are fully entitled to a full refund according to consumer rights act 2015. It's not complicated it's real simple, you don't get what you paid for, you get your money back. And of course, Easyjet are now making it sound like they are being generous, caring and that they are doing their customers a favour by offering free rebooking on any of their flights anywhere in Europe even if the new rebooked flights cost more money than your original flight. This is such crock of s......t, you can only rebook upto 12 months ahead, the government has made it clear that travelling abroad will not happen this year, most countries in Europe have got a policy of a compulsory 14 day quarantine to anyone arriving at their borders, so nobody is flying anywhere. If Easyjet really were concerned about their customers they would allow us to contact them properly on the phone, they would also provide a flexible service, they would offer open flight tickets that would allow you to rebook at least 24 months ahead for those flight when they become available, and of course Easyjet would adhere to the law, by providing full refunds to customers who request it. I'm a outdoor instructor that provides adventure holidays around around the world, I have had cancel several trips to Nepal and Africa, and the airlines I use like Emirates, Qatar airways are all providing this service of open tickets and refunding, and you can get through on the phone and actually speak to someone. As far as I'm concerned, EasyJet are deliberately avoiding their responsibilities to their customers, their phones are a con, they have no intension of answering any of our telephone calls , no intension of answering any e-mails, and they are simply breaking the law by not refunding. If Easyjet does not contact me soon and certainly before my flight date, to refund my £844 of offer me an open ticket, I will certainly never use them again, so I urge you, all of us to vote with our computer fingers and not to use Easyjet again, unless they have an epiphany, a realisation that without their customers they will no longer exist and change their criminal behaviour.

Gerry : Booked with Easyjet Belfast to Glasgow return for a concert for 3 adults and 1 child at the end of June. The concert has been cancelled so we don't need to travel. Can I get a voucher for these flights? I know I can change the booking FOC but I would like to change the destination AND those travelling.

I had notification that my outbound flight was cancelled so applied for a refund. They subsequently cancelled the inbound flight, do I apply again, or will they refund all the flights

I was due fly to Malta on 19th March then fly back on 24th March. Due to government guidance not to travel unless essential, and the Maltese government enforcing 14 days quarantine on arrival, we decided not to travel. Easyjet did not cancel the outbound but a few days later they cancelled the inbound flight. So I am able to change one of the flights online but feel I should be able to change both. However just cannot get though to speak to anybody. I fear all they will say that they did not cancel the outbound flight and we could of still flown

Guest : Holiday 4/7/20. I am due to pay the final balance of my holiday (£4455) on 5th May. I want to cancel this holiday as part of our party are vulnerable adults and would probably not be able to travel for many months during the pandemic. I don't want to amend this holiday as our circumstances will be changing and it wouldn't be possible to go on this holiday at any other time. I am willing to lose my £300 deposit but I don't want to pay such a large amount of final balance and maybe have trouble getting this money refunded. Should not paying this final balance on 5th May not be subject to any other charges as I read in the terms and conditions that I would only lose my deposit if I cancelled before 60 days. LOSE THE £300 OR YOU WILL LOSE THE LOT!

Guest Nigel watson : I have a holiday booked for Portugal on June 11 . I’ve paid £240 but now need to the balance of £260 . Do you think the holiday will be cancelled by easy jet in which case I would get a full refund as we are ATOL covered . I wouldn’t risk going On a plane as early as June 11 anyway due to the virus. Should I pay the balance and risk losing £500 or cancell myself and lose £240 ?? PAY THE BALANCE AND THEN RESCHEDULE FREE OF CHARGE YOR FLIGHT!!

Hello. I have a holiday booked to Quarteira in Algarve (flying to Faro) in September. I realise it's difficult but just wondered on thought as to whether that trip is likely to be able go ahead. Been looking forward to this holiday for nearly a year and really hope it does go ahead as planned.

Easyjet doesn't want their customers to demand refunds so they make it especially difficult. I shall keep trying in the knowledge that the law is on our side. The consumer watchdog, Which, says so. Also, the CMA says so. This is a Government org, means Competition & Markets Authority which has real bite and will take enforcement action. Look at the site www.gov.uk/consumer-protection-rights.

So I booked flights in December to fly to Spain tomorrow. easyJet cancelled the flights on 15 April by email. After making reasonable attempts to contact Customer Services for a refund I gave up and turned to Barclaycard. On the credit card website is a link to make a s.75 claim under the consumer credit act. Statute makes the credit card company jointly liable for the transaction. I made the online claim Thursday 23/4 . Uploaded my Booking Confirmation and Cancellation on Friday 24/4. Yesterday Barclaycard confirmed they had credited my account with the £400 cost. Barclaycard can chase easyJet for the refund.

Hello everyone. I am confused. I booked a flight for May 13th. Easyjet sent me an email saying that the flight isn't cancelled, but elsewhere online it says easyjet have grounded all flights. I don't know what to think. I'm not too fussed about a refund as the flight only cost £40 return, but I am stressing about whether or not to continue with my plans? How can they sell flights if they're grounded?? Cheers, hope everyone is well.

I requested a REFUND recently for a return flight. Just received an email from easyjet which I'll try to summarise : . Your request is being processed . 28 days for processing . If not received voucher after this time, and not had a refund back to original card, Contact them Acknowledges my original payment Says, refund of my payment to CREDIT SHELL. It's the wording CREDIT SHELL that's confusing me. I just want to know, am I getting a refund OR, am I being forced to rebook flights with them in the future? If anyone could shed light on this, I would be very grateful. Thanks. .

Does anyone know when Easyjet have cancelled their flights up to? It says they are doing it on a 7 day rolling basis. My flight is 2 weeks off and still showing as operating. Will it not be cancelled until 7 days before then? I can't claim a refund until it is cancelled.

The consumer watchdog, Which, has clarified today the legal rights of customers. If you have booked flight-only tickets, Easyjet has to refund within 7 days. If you have booked a package (ticket + hotel etc) from Easyjet, then Easyjet is required by law to refund within 14 days. These are legal requirements so I shall keep on at Easyjet to refund me. If you want to accept Easyjet vouchers in the future instead, that's up to you.

Herbie54 : Please can anyone advise how long their refund took. I had flights for 27 March returning 1 April. At the time I was offered a refund which we took. Still not received any more and cant get through on the telephone. Have you completed the on line refund form? We did, our refund took approx 2 weeks after that Nick : Easy jet have cancelled my outbound flights, I have been trying constantly to get through to their "customer services" just's cuts me off! Has anyone actually got through to them? Why can you do everything else on line bar get a refund? Poor PR for their company, pretty short sighted as once we all get through this people will remember their experience! Update folks: I have now been refunded!! completed the online refund form, approx two weeks later received a full refund. Easyjet have partially redeemed themselves in my book. Shame you made us all battle so hard for it though!

Warning to All !!! Easyjet is very willing to issue vouchers for the cancelled flights but did you ask yourself (how much are the flights going to cost later) I have checked few different dates (off season) later in the year and shockingly some cost £900+ which normally would not be more than £400 with all the extras. So they keep your money by giving you the vouchers and trap you in, then later they charge you hundreds more on top of your vouchers for the flights. The cost of flights will increase dramatically at least till the last vouchers expires date. Be safe / play safe

Update, received email from easyjet it could take 28 days to get refund but they say don't contact them unless it's been 90 days since submitting refund form. Can we book flights and pay in 90 days easyjet? Don't think so!! If I don't get my refund within 28 days, I will never use easyjet again.

I got through to customer services without much delay today - to ask for a refund on my flights is all of the fleet is grounded. I was told that although the fleet is grounded until June - my flights in May haven't been 'cancelled' yet. They aim to send an email to in the week containing the 14th May 'cancelling the flight', and a refund can be asked for after then. Whilst that may make huge business sense to them (the use of my money for a further 6 weeks plus) - it doesn't make me want to use them again, ever, if they don't actually go bust.

Myself and 2 friends were flying to Jersey on the 24th of this month, has anyone checked in even though they know their flight has been cancelled? I'm unsure what to do? If I check in will it affect my claim? If I don't check in will this affect my claim? Not that I'm expecting a refund but I live in hope 😏 Like everyone else, I have tried email, phone and online chat to no avail. Disgraceful how we're all being treated.

Wonder if anyone else have had this problem, had a flight booked to Prague in March 2020, due to COVID no flying, a refund was offered online but this was just for travel out, no return, apparently my refund is being sorted but this was over a month ago, had an email confirmation but no refund for the return back to the UK and this part of the journey has magically vanished from my bookings. Again I was due to go to Switzerland next week, took the voucher option but was only given a voucher for the flight out and cannot access an option anywhere for my flight back, have anyone else encountered this?

That doesn’t mean you’ll have the refund with the promised (and statutory) 7 days. I’ve been waiting 26 days and still nothing.

Hi I like many others on this forum have been trying in vain to get my refund. Having been advised to call since mid February I had called 200+ times. This Saturday 9.30am I got through! To a South African call centre he was able to refund the full amount for 3 flights. He explained by 9.30am there were 58 people working in his office and over 2000 people waiting to be answered by 9.30am. Advice - 1. Call at the weekend 2. Call early morning as I know others have had success on sundays. Used the normal number ending ‘5000 G.luck to everyone.
