Just been told by jet 2 they can cancel my holiday but would lose my deposit, due to fly out on the 19th July, but know this will not happen, just asked if I could move my deposit for next year, awaiting reply.

My feeling is that JET2 are doing the best they can in a difficult situation. I guess they are running a skeleton crew and it would be impossible to set up a phone centre. I have been trying to contact Barclaycard and it has been very difficult, but they are huge compared to Jet2. The sheer numbers in terms of passengers and refunds due must be enormous, as well as dealing with suppliers in various countries. It seems the usual operating method is to try to phone and if they cannot get in touch, they will automatically refund. I received a refund last Wednesday for a flight due in two weeks. I havent had the 120 pound deposit and if it doesnt come automatically I will chase it when the company starts flying again. Insurance is an interesting one, because it will be via a different insurer. It is probably worth checking whether the original purchase had this from a separate company. However, even here I think that the law falls on the consumer and when the company is running normally again this should be readily sorted out. Jet2 seems to want to get back to business otherwise they wouldnt be paying anything.

As long as the non essential travel advice remains on the Foreign Office website, holiday companies are unable to send you and even if you did go, travel insurance wouldnt cover you LancashireLass66 : Hi, My partner and I have booked to go to Turkey and are due to travel at the end of June, but to be honest, despite still wanting to go, as we love the place, I do not feel safe in going. I, also, have under lying health issues and feel it would be a mistake in going. It is now rumoured that from the beginning of June anyone entering the UK will have to go into 2 weeks quarantine, that's including UK residents returning from holiday, this is another reason why I don't want to go. I am currently on furlough from work and to add to the problem I am led to believe that all annual leave, already booked, with the company I work for is no longer valid, so I may not even be able to go, as I will no longer have the holidays. My partner attempted to cancel the holiday under the My Bookings section and was unable to do so, he was instructed to send an email, which he did, and someone from Jet2 would get back to us. Despite sending the email the remaining balance debited our account so the holiday is now paid for. It has been just over two weeks and so far we have heard nothing from Jet2. I have attempted to contact Jet2 by telephone but have been unsuccessful as the phone lines are, currently, switched off. So we are stuck in limbo and all we want to do is speak to someone. I know the guidelines state not to cancel your holiday but we was under the impression all we would lose is the deposit and for the sake of £120 our health and safety is more important. But, despite no warnings given on the Jet2 My Bookings section we had no idea that if we cancel the holiday we could lose more that just the deposit. My partner has requested to cancel the holiday and an email requesting to cancel the holiday was sent. The day after I came across the small print and according to that we could lose half the money paid for the holiday if we cancel. I think under the circumstances this is unfair and unsure as to what to do.

Can you ammend holiday from July this year to 2021 with Jet2?I thought you had to wait till they cancelled your holiday.

Guest : Hi we are supposed to be flying in August but want to change flights to 2021, this is possible on Web site but not possible when we want to change airport! This can only be done by phone and they aren't answering the phone. Any solutions?EA4

Marine309 Hi, Has anyone else received an email from Jet2 saying the balance can be deferred until 6 weeks before departure in July. The last paragraph states the full terms and conditions still apply at the time of booking. We were due to pay in excess of £22k on 14th May (wedding in Greece that's been cancelled) if we were to take Jet2s advice and then cancel in June we would still be liable for 70% of this balance according to these terms and conditions. Is this yet another unscrupulous way of getting every little slice of our hard earned money into their coffers to then gain interest on it until they finally decide to refund anyway. Can't take the risk so cancelled all the bookings on the day the balance was due although it took 2 hrs to get into My Bookings. I'd rather lose our deposits than risk them taking our money when we all know that there is no way anyone in their right mind would want to go anywhere at the moment so why are they being sneaky and not cancelling all holidays this summer and refunding customers deposits.

Hi, Just looking at the other posts. It seems if you yourself cancel you loose half of your money, but if Jet2 cancel you get a full refund. The Greek Goverment has said seasonal hotel will open some time in July,Jet2 are taking booking for Greece from the 18th of June😮where will people stay.My guess is the longer they hold on your money the better for them.

Guest : Jet2 says flights resume from 17/06/2020. Canary Islands authorities say they will only allow International travellers, including British, into the islands from October. Why is Jet2 not cancelling all Canary Islands holidays for June, July, Aug and September ?ZB7ZN

I was sent a email on the 11th of May to say I will be getting a full refund of £1300. On the 12th they put £150 in to my account quite a bit of a shortful of what I have paid. Tried to get in touch with then but net with the usual no one there to answer. I will be very surprised if I ever book with jet2 again.

I had a missed call on the 5th May to say my refund would be auctioned and I was very pleased that it was such an efficient service however, I have only been refunded the final balance and I haven't had the £240 deposit back. There is no way if getting in touch to ask for it

Jet2.com have said any holidays after the 17th of June will be going ahead. If you are to cancel a holiday that is after this term, I would suggest checking through your terms and conditions to see what the cancellation fee is as this is what you are bound by. You could also write to their head office in Leeds, sent it recorded delivery and put your situation across to them, i.e if you are vulnerable and seek a gesture of goodwill from them i.e postpone the holiday/refund. If the holiday is before this time, try and have faith they will contact you. The more people that are contacting them way ahead of the time they are travelling, the more chance those who are travelling sooner won't be contacted as they should be!

Hi if your still waiting for your refund and you don't hear anything, Write to head Office in leeds , have it signed for , you will get response from them a lot quicker than on here , You could also Contact Resolver , Martin Lewis runs it and they contact them on your behalf all Free ..

Brian A : No contact from Jet 2. Holiday cancelled ref 6881395/S20H. I have updated my details on 'Manage my Booking' but no contact at all from Jet 2. Online info says that they are contacting people in departure order. They haven't made contact with me in 10 days as per their email. Come on Jet 2 I know these are terribly tough times for you but they are for us too! We need that £2000! Just a brief email to explain the delay would help.

We were due to travel to Cyprus 17.04.20 and received 2 emails to say our holiday had been cancelled and Jet 2 would be in touch. I missed a call from them and have been unable to contact them either by phone or email. I have today checked my account and we have had a full refund. Just thought Id share as I know it is very worrying.

I was told in an email from jet2 that I would get a full refund for the cancellation of our holiday, I've just checked my credit card account and notice that only the final balance has been refunded and not the deposit, if so, then this is not a full refund, has anyone else had this problem?

Guest : Due to fly on 28/5.called last night by Jet2.Assured refund would be in my a/c within 14 days Me too then received an invoice of cancellation via email stating there would be no refund as flight is within 14 days. They only phoned me On Day 14. Have you received similar email?
